Pros +

  • It was centrally located with shopping and many restaurants within a short walking distance. Beautiful beach location with attentiveness to cleaning up the sargasm throughout the day. Lovely helpful staff!
  • Friendly staff, beachfront location, free breakfast (not much varied but a good omelette or scrambled).
  • This was a great modest hotel. It was close to all the action on 5th Avenue, but far enough away to be quiet at bedtime. The rooms and hotel were very clean and taken care of. The free breakfast on the beach every morning was delicious.

Cons -

  • The hotel was extremely hard to find. I was given incorrect directions by many locals. The hotel does not answer telephone so is no help at all in this respect. Luggage has to brought through the sand as only entrance is directly on beach.
  • When we arrived we got "upgrade" - room in the basement with non-working Jacuzzi. Only next day we got room that we reserved.
  • If you try to visit your room with a friend, who is a lady, they will be very rude and tell you that you need to pay $15 to bring that person to your room. I tried to explain that we were only going to be a minute, to no avail. They’re like predators he

Meh. Don’t use the local SCUBA or beach rental people. Trust me.

Location, room, bathroom

I was unaware how loud and how long the music would play. We didnt sleep till 2am.

The location was convenient.

Beach chairs are not included with the hotel so we had to arrange those separately. Also parties in the beach were very loud and kept us awake.

Very close to all the restaurants and shops on Quinta Avenida. It is a beach front resort which is nice but be sure to go when there’s no sargassum. The rooms are clean, a bit small but you get what you pay for. The staff is very nice. We were upgraded to a nicer view for free upon arrival.

The rooms are small. Our room security safe did not have a lock or key. The pool was small and often dirty with debris and sand. The hotel and rooms look out dated and in need a facelift. The hotel is not visible from the street. It’s behind The Carmen Hotel.

Very nice view and spacious rooms.

Absolutely not adapted for babies in troller, it’s full of stairs and no one offered any help.

$100 was stolen from my carry on and a cell phone charger that left in the room was not returned to me.

The staff from the beach club was exceptionally nice, helpful, and went out of their way to accommodate any need our family had. The A.C. worked great the entire time.

The biggest issue was the terrible Internet. One day we didn't have Internet the entire day, and the TV which could only work with Internet was buffering the whole time my child was trying to watch it. I tried to use zoom for work one day and could not. The hotel is older, so the rooms are too. The pillows were extremely high and uncomfortable. No elevator, which was fine for my family, but important to know in advance. Even though the Luciana is partnered up with the folks who run the beach club, the beach club staff do not do room service. Upon arrival, You register at the lobby of a different hotel, and there are no phone in the room, so if you have any issues you have to walk out of the hotel, around the way to get to the lobby.

AC worked well. Location is close to the main walking street. Friendly staff.

No working internet. Toilet was broken. Paid extra for an "ocean view" that was only visible when the bar/club was empty. If blackout curtains were not covering door, people could look directly into the bathroom and bedroom. Uninviting pool. Not the easiest to get to your room.

Location was top, 1 block to everything, we loved the food, the cocktails and everything was clean. Raul and staff are top people.

This is a beautiful hotel right on the beach. The view is great and the vibe is cute. The rooms are clean, large, and comfy. The pool and pool deck are a really nice spot to relax. It is a great location close to the busy tourist street and lots of food options nearby.

In Playa, I want to be right on the beach for sure! Luciana was good for that, but the beach front is not sandy. There is sand on the actual beach, but the ocean comes in over smooth rocks that line the sea floor. There was always a lot of kelp that was washed in and not cleaned up. We ended up walking north to go to a sandy and beautiful beach. Other than that, as a beach club, I would expect that the chairs on the beach are free to use for folks who have already paid the fee to stay onsite. This beach club, even if you stay at Luciana, charge a minimum of $MXN 300 per day to use the chairs. It was a turn off for us since we had already paid to stay in the hotel.

Location is very close to many bars and restaurants, but still very quite in the evening. Nice view on the sea from the balcony when you have a ocean facing room at a high level (the lower levels have no views). The room had a king size bed which was very comfortable.

It is an old property. Then entrance is through the beach and there is no elevator. It's a bit of a ''hike'' to the room taking multiple steps and walking partly on the beach. The bathroom is very small and the room is outdated... It's a pity as it does have some more potential. The beach front is not the best: rocks and very small. So when swimming and beach going is key this is not the best option.

8ZuzanaPosted on: 5-4-2025

Great location and well maintained for the value. The staff were very nice and the beach club was the highlight. Great food, drinks and the best staff! It was very quiet at night.

Paid for a king sized bed and got a queen (it felt more like what someone from Canada/US would consider a double. The pool is small and if you’re a pool person I’d suggest staying elsewhere.

Clean, food in the restaurant really good

Access to hotel is through the beach as the entrance by the reception was closed

The location was perfect. Walking distance to so much including the Ferry to Cozumel. Enjoyed eating breakfast while looking at the Sea in the open air restaurant. The staff were all fantastic!

It was a bit of a challenge to carry our suitcases fighting the waves as the entrance is on the beach only. Everything was quite old and outdated.

none. I mean nothing.

At 6am I wake up from big noise, water pump machine broke. Nd new few days same noise.Room has no window. shower has bad weather circulation.and most important entrance to Hotel from beach, it fine if ocean weather is up you have to enter with your foot in sands.Beach front the hotel fool of big rocks, no way to swim.

The location is right on the beach, which is fine. The pictures listed on the website are NOT accurate whatsoever. We had to check out the same day. The location and the room were Extremely dirty, the staff didn't out enough towels or blankets in the room for 4 beds, just enough for 2, and they mentioned they were out of stock of towels and blankets. There was MOLD and dust all over the bathrooms and room, the sheets had hair and were disgusting, and the actual facilities were just super gross. the front desk lady was so nice but she said the owners were in Spain and there was nothing they could do for us. We had to cut our losses and check out the very same day. I book via booking all the time and have used for years. This is my first bad review because it was honestly that bad.
