Really relaxing in an area where it can be noisy! Great staff and a warm welcoming feeling and breakfast on the beach! I had a rental car so parking was a snap. Great value great place and will stay there next time!

Beautiful beachfront hotel with a great bar/restaurant. Convenient location just off 5th Ave, but be aware that it is only a block from three clubs that play loud music well into the morning. This is probably only an issue for the rooms facing the street, the rooms facing the courtyard don't seem to have this issue.

Beds were pretty stiff, but manageable. Club music on street facing exterior rooms can be a problem for light sleepers. Fortunately, we were exhausted at the end of each day and didn't have much trouble sleeping through it.

The location was great. Breakfast was very good. We had our kids along so there was not much of a beach area to play on, but we easily walked down to the main beach. This would be a place we would come back to without the kids. Everything was very clean. All staff was friendly.

Excellent hotel, highly recommended The room was great, Lido bar was very boho, loved the design service, the breakfast was very good, the ocean is right at your feet, quite unique and beautiful. Very convenient to have a 24h grocery across the street and a great Dirty Martini bar, with karaoke which maybe a disadvantage if you go to bed early. Couldn't have done this booking without Hector who helped us every step of the way with the booking arrangements, the recommendations what to do, (would recommend Rio Secreto) very grateful ?

Loved the Rio Secreto trip. Could not find any beaches to our satisfaction in Playa del Carmen. The city is more traditional and mainstream and not our preferred vibe compared to Isla Mujeres and Tulum, which are more hipster.

    The flush.

Big room, hotel location front the beach

Next to nightclubs the music sounds loud at night. Not recommended if you have a light sleep, go with babies or just want a peaceful stay. The beach front to the hotel is too tiny, no place to enjoy the beach front.

It was a gorgeous property in the right location. I’m not a fan of all inclusive and huge hotels so this was perfect. The property is right on the beach with access to all the restaurants and bars. I arrived from Merida on the ADO and the bus station was literally walking distance to the hotel. The staff was wonderful and friendly giving me tips on where to go to eat and even gently pushing me to get to my taxi on time when my phone didn’t adjust for the time difference. The room was spacious and styled beautiful with a beach chic vibe. I have a balcony with a beach view and it was perfection, especially during sunset/sunrise just singing on my hammock. They had winter available in the lobby and the restaurant was delicious. Unfortunately I didn’t have the opportunity to have breakfast there bc of my early events but I’m hoping next time I visit I will. I also appreciated the ear plugs and thicker glass on the window to help shut out the outside noise at night. It’s close to a lot of bars so that’s important for light sleepers like myself.

This is just a preference but my pillow was too firm and big.

We spent 10 days in this beautiful place. Our rating is 10 out of 10. We are already back to our usual snowy Canadian routine, but the feeling of an amazing vacation at Casa Calabri is still with us.The staff was very helpful, and we always felt that any question would be solved right away. The rooms were cleaned every day, and there was always a feeling of freshness, cleanliness, and a nice smell. Each room has a hammock, and we loved relaxing there in the shade during the strong sun, looking at the tall green jungle trees. We are big fans of the rustic, handmade style in Casa Calabri. Every detail in the hotel catches your attention and looks like it was made especially for this place. The hotel restaurant was wonderful. Bravo to the chefs — it was one of the most delicious places we have ever eaten at! The bartenders also made excellent cocktails, bravo to them too! The waiters worked very hard to make our stay comfortable and were always very attentive and friendly. The restaurant prices seemed similar to most places — not more and not less.In any case, we highly recommend this hotel — you will definitely fall in love with it!

For the downsides, as many people mention (and we knew before coming), the loud music from nearby hotels, bars, and clubs can be very strong. We slept with earplugs, but even that didn’t help much. However, waking up in the jungle and having breakfast at Lido made up for it. Our child, surprisingly, slept well =)The second minus is the rocky beach. We almost didn’t swim there and walked 5 minutes along the shore to a sandy one, because we prefer a sandy bottom, and our child needed it too. I think if you are adults and good swimmers, the rocks will not be a problem.

Our 2nd time staying there, we love the garden. The bungalows were awesome.

Sargassum - but that’s not your fault.

    9NadavPosted on: 6-5-2025

The location is right on the beach and next to the busiest street and parties in the area, but in the room that we stayed we didn't hear anything. The breakfast is good, with nice verity right on the beach.

The hotel is beautiful and, in my opinion, the best one in Playa del Carmen. The premises, atmosphere, and beach club are magnificent. The staff are friendly and uphold a high standard of service. I definitely recommend choosing this hotel.

During weekend nights, you can definitely hear the club music while trying to sleep. I’m used to sleeping with AirPods in if there’s noise, so this didn’t bother me.

The room was exactly informed as lovely and relaxing. We loved the atmosphere at the garden and enjoyed a hearty breakfast.

We visited in mid May and the seaweed ruined the beach. That was sad!
