    • Wonderful place! A quiet, mountainous feeling in the city. The place is beautiful, rustic, artsy, clean, and peaceful. The restaurant is also delicious, with a fireplace that's on every night. The owners are often around and available for help or just to chat and tell you the story of the hotel. The staff is very helpful. I also used their chocolate therapy massage services - loved it.

I loved this hotel! Located on a small hill in the north-west of the city, it's a good place to disconnect from your work or daily routine. The continental breakfast was complete, delicious, and generous. The staff was very kind and friendly. We had dinner there, and it was also tasty. The facilities had a lot of pieces of art, different sculptures and paintings; all of them were beautiful, and we were delighted to watch them. Our room was vast, and its bed was comfortable. I'll come back soon, of course!

It would have been great if the room had a TV or a speaker to pair with smartphones and listen to music, but it was perfect even without technology.

The cottage was perfect. The owner was super friendly and everything was clean. We had dinner there which was delicious and the free breakfast in the morning was just as good. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

At Colina Cottage Hotel in Bogotá. This cosy little gem redefines what hospitality means to me. Unlike the big chain hotels that can sometimes feel a bit soulless, Colina Cottage welcomed us with warmth and personal touches that made us feel right at home. Friendly staff such as Nairobi who remembered our names to the cosy rooms that felt more like a friend’s guesthouse than a boring large hotel chain. It’s proof that sometimes, the smaller places leave the biggest impression!

While Colina Cottage offers a wonderfully cosy and personalised experience, the pricing felt a bit on the higher side. That said, the warmth, charm, and attention to detail might make it worthwhile for those seeking a unique and intimate stay.

Eclectic and cozy place in a residential area. The restaurant is excellent! Definitely make a dinner reservation there. Frederico is great to chat with and all the staff were very gracious.

The property is quaint and secluded.

    No hot water in shower.

The staff (Nairobi, Rosana) and Federico (owner) were a very friendly and attentive. Definitely made my stay more enjoyableThe breakfast was super healthy and delicious. The French pressed coffee was the best coffee I’ve had.The bed was super comfortable. The decoration of the farm house made everything more authentic and a pleasant change from staying in an Airbnb or regular hotel.

Hard to find at night. The sign is against the wall if you don’t see the entrance as it’s locked at night.

La Colina Cottage Hotel exceeded absolutely *every* expectation that I had. It's rare to find an accommodation that sets the standard so high across all categories (staff, facilities, food, cleanliness, comfort, value, etc.), and I can say without any exaggeration that this ranks among my top 3 best hotel experiences ever.1. Staff: The owner (Federico) and his team are incredible. There are hotels that go above and beyond what one might expect from an accommodation, but of the 100+ hotels in which I've stayed, Federico (along with only 3 other hoteliers I've met in my travels) delivers a passion, enthusiasm, care, and attention that far exceeds what most could even hope for. 2. Decor/cleanliness: My impression of the hotel is as positive as my experience with La Colina's staff. Despite the warm, cozy, and welcoming atmosphere - the outdoor fireplace and seating area that overlooks the Bogota hills is the perfect place to unwind after a day of enjoying the city - the hotel feels modern and is decorated with a rotating collection of original art. The property and rooms are also very clean and well maintained, and make for a very comfortable, relaxing stay.3. Food: As a night person who usually skips breakfast, it was worth getting up early for. Everything was fresh, tasty, and filling, and this might just be my favourite breakfast of anywhere I've travelled. As for dinner, while most seasoned travellers would recommend eating outside of your hotel, La Colina is well known for its food, and it is a testament to the quality when you see locals from Bogota dining and thoroughly enjoying their meals.

I had *zero* dislikes, however, there might be a few things that may not appeal to all travellers:1. La Colina is nestled in the Bogota hills, not immediately in the core of the city, and will require a bit of travelling time during rush hour with the city's (abundant) traffic.2. For travellers that have specific preferences for facilities (eg. a gym, pool, etc.) may have to find other ways of getting in their workout (but walking up and down the hills at 2700m elevation is a great start! XD)3. It sets the bar unrealistically high for other accommodations.

It has so much charm and the food was delicious.

We had to drive up very steep streets, our taxi drivers weren’t comfortable.

The staff and the solitude were a perfect combination for a quick getaway. The owner, Federico, and his wife were the perfect host. If you need a secluded getaway yet close to a city, it was perfect. Great food and attention from the staff were nothing short of excellent.

I'll leave this open. Everyone has different desires.

Nicely decorated rooms, comfortable beds, good water pressure in bathrooms and nice toiletries. We were served a hearty breakfast. Helpful host who gave us useful recommendations.

It's difficult to specifically point out what didn't work for us but the following are our feedback. The location wasn't ideal for us as it's almost 45-50 minutes from downtown/ the main tourist attractions. Our taxi driver found the place a bit hard to find without external sign posts. Eventually we were assisted by a neighbour. The quantity of toiletries was insufficient for us. In room tea/ coffee would be a nice addition.

Everything about our stay at this property was fantastic. We stayed the last few days of our trip after already having spent some time in Bogota. The drive into central parts of the city is 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic. This property is in a safe, beautiful, residential area that, while within city limits has more of small town feel. There are incredible panoramic views of the city from the property. There is also a park and shops/commercial area within walking distance. It is a perfect base for taking day trips outside of, as well as within, Bogota. The owners will assist with arranging transportation and tours and are bilingual. The food is delicious. There are also working artists within the owners’ family and an art studio on site. They collect art, as well, and it will surround you during your stay.

    Everything was great

    5DanielaPosted on: 4-5-2024

Hotel staff were the only positive thing I would highlight. Everything else is not bad, but not great either.

The location is problematic on many levels. It is far from everything. Regardless of the time of the day, there is always heavy traffic to get out of the hotel or back in. Impossible to walk anywhere forcing guests to always pay for transportation, which easily ends doubling the total cost of the stay. The house/amenities are very rustic. I was in one of the main rooms in the main house and the bathroom layout was far from optimal. The shower always made a big mess and the lighting was poor. My room was also filled with food smell every time the chefs cooked, and I could hear all the conversations that were going on in the kitchen/living room. The host/owners weren't warm at all. They seemed pretentious and always looked for opportunities to charge more. The whole place just wasn't inviting despite offering a delicious breakfast, having interesting/entertaining decoration, and friendly hotel staff. All in all, this place has potential but unless you wish to be isolated, the price does not match what you get.

The owners! Young! Hip! Kind! And very willing to make you’re travel experience a memorable, worry free vacation!! The staff is awesome!! The chef Tamara is caring! Kind and an exceptional chef!! My god! Her food is delicious ? the food flavors explode in savory dishes she prepares fresh from the open air kitchen they have at the property.. all staff members are respectful, attentive to all of you’re needs without imposing! Everyone there make you feel special! I was truly impressed!! Now the property is off the beaten path and not much activity around the area. You would need to take a taxi or rent a car, and there is no TV.. but so very worth the experience within the walls of the beautiful property!! During dinner they put some nice music! Light up the chimney and each dinner table had rose ? petal and a bouquet of flowers ? for a romantic dinner!! Thank you ? for making our time memorable.

    That we had to leave!

Really a hidden gem in Bogota. An unassuming location in North Bogota that really shows it's character once you arrive. Nice rooms, nice staff, friendly owners and great food.

    Nothing to dislike. All good.
