none of the 3 lamps in the bedroom none worked. the safe would get stuck and i have to call front desk each time i needed access to my belongings. u my key was given to a man that tried getting into my room at 5am. security DID NOTHING i heard from the

This hotel was very nice, super clean, and the staff were very kind and helpful. The location had several restaurants, stores, and bars nearby and walking around at night did not make us feel unsafe. It was a nice, centrally located hotel.

The hotel is a bit dated, and the shower drained poorly. Soap inside the shower wasn't replaced.

The WHOLE staff exceeds our expectations every time we stay... Luis ( Dining manager / morning ) , Edwin ( Dining manager /evening) ,Cristian / valet parking , front desk English/ Español ready when needed. Housekeeping was superb. Step for step, dollar for dollar.....Hotel Estelar creates cherished memories by providing a first class , full service environment in a beautiful historical landmark. I ate many meals ( 10 days ) . Baby beef ( chimichurri mmm..mmmm.mmmm.) along with?spaghetti, accompanied with asparagus i enjoyed several times, Any soup/ sopa is super fresh, tasty and outstanding. The breakfast buffet has every base covered.... Cereals, eggs made special request. Those little buckwheat ? pancakes with a spoonful of mango and rasberry topping kept me coming back for more. Any natural juice provided( maracuya, gunabana , lulo, ? orange, papaya) is breath taking delicious . I requested hot water in a pot for aromatics ( talking tea / fresh herbs bought locally ) often... . On and on and on the good things never stopped. We departed and they made sure we had coffee to start the day on an early wake up. And a big sandwich and juice for the plane ride... Overall put simply... Awesome establishment with awesome employees ?

Honestly can't ? think of one negative aspect pertaining to Hotel Estelar.

They really have friendly, attentive and professional staff. We were a little early and the room wasn't ready so they immediately offered us tea and coffee while we were waiting. Not even 10min later, instead of the standard room we had booked, we got a big suite with a separate living room, kitchenette, walk-in wardrobe and two bathrooms. Not really needed for one night in Bogota between two flights - but much appreciated. Thanks to the Estelar team.

Not meant as a negative comment, but since there is space here to write and some other users have commented about it: yes, the furniture in our room and the interior design of the hotel might be a bit dated but everything is clean and in good order. So if you look for a modern design hotel this might not be the right choice for you. However, we would be happy to stay here again any day with the old design, the great staff and hence a very good value for your money.

Very good standard in general, in particular good breakfast with large choice, extremely confortable bed and silent room. Highly recommended!

the breakfast was top notch lots to choose from. They even called ahead to other hotel to confirm booking etc......and last but not least, we got a personal drive from the manager to our other hotel there in Chapinero (now that's service).

Building needs renovations, everything looks and feels rundown. Rooms without AC. Decor is old. Breakfast is just ok-ish. No views to anything other than the residential neighbours next door. Tiny, few elevators. Gym is a joke, they should be ashamed of even claiming to have a gym.

The room was very spacious and the bed was comfortable.

We stayed three nights in this hotel. Our experience didn’t start off very well as we had a mixup in our dates and tried to contact the hotel several times, various ways, before arriving but we got no response. Communication should be easier for a guest. Overall, we don’t think this is worthy of 4 stars as we stayed in many hostels during our trip that were better.

I was charged a cleaning fee for the matress because my son accidentally peed in bed at night. Although I understand this is a distress, I believe hotels should be used to this kind of incident and have cleaning solutions that do not impose extra costs on the guest.

Rooms are beginning to look dated

The hotel staff and very kind and helpful. The rooms are very large, they could use a better assortment of furnishings for their size. The junior suite I reserved had 2 twin beds in the living room area and a king size bed in the bedroom. Since it was just myself I did not need the extra beds and it would have been nice to have a sofa or easy chair to relax on. Bathrooms are fairly good size and plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The king size bed was okay, not the most comfortable. The breakfast included has a good variety from fresh fruit, yogurt, grains, cheese, meats and hot entrees. Wi-fi is good and easy to use. The hotel is central to the Chapinero neighborhood and easy to walk or get transportation to other parts of the city.

The breakfast room can be overwhelming as many large families use this hotel and it gets crowded, it is better to get to breakfast earlier when they open at 8 AM. There was nothing that would keep me from using this hotel again for another stay.

The only issue is that the floors are hardwood, which carries noise. Noise does not come from above but it does come from the hallway at times.

Our recent stay at Estelar in Chapinero had its ups and downs. While the overall experience was enjoyable, the mini-bar policy was disappointing. An upfront debit of over 50,000 COP, along with IVA, was charged to my card as potential credit for the mini-bar—a policy that felt both unnecessary and poorly thought out. Adding to the frustration, the mini-bar prices were exorbitant, making the whole approach seem more like a revenue-generating tactic than a guest-friendly feature. A simpler, more transparent approach—like including the correct room rate upfront—would significantly enhance the guest experience.That said, one shining star of our stay was Edwin, whose exceptional service deserves recognition. Over New Year’s, he single-handedly managed a busy breakfast room with calm, professionalism, and a warm demeanor. The tip I gave him, thanks to that mini-bar debit, felt far better spent on acknowledging his efforts than on the mini-bar float! Edwin truly made a positive impact on our stay.
