    Pros +

    • The staff were incredible. They were ready to help, offer advice all in a very friendly manner. The room was older but incredibly clean and excellent value.
    • It's beautiful! Great pool, lovely art and gardens, 1 block from the beach (mostly small fishing boats but still the malecon) and a nice view. It feels like a small boutique hotel and it's pretty!
    • For us it was perfect. We went to the market every morning for a Torta, then mangos to eat poolside.

    Cons -

    • Nothing¿. Fully recommend
    • Shower didn’t have very good water pressure. The property is a little far from centro and the malecón - but not a bad walk.
    • Cold shower. Low water pressure and never got more than lukewarm. At check in, I paid cash, but clerk acted like she didn’t want to give me a receipt.

Our room was large and had all we needed. The common areas are very nicely decorated and comfortable. We loved the pool area.

Shower didn’t have very good water pressure. The property is a little far from centro and the malecón - but not a bad walk.

This is an adorable vintage hotel. If you want to stay somewhere off the beach but close enough to walk/bike to, this is your place. The very friendly service cannot be beat even by modern hotels. The Yucatan is one of the most friendly places I have visited and I left Progresso having made wonderful friends, especially among the staff at Marie's Nicte Ha. Rent the bikes-you will be at Malecon Tourista (main boulevard) along the beach in minutes. Special shout out to Rosel and Mariana, at the Hotel, who provided excellent service as did every worker.

Beautiful pool and garden, the mattress is comfortable. All employees are nice and Maria, the owner is there everyday in the morning with her beautiful smile and great recommendations. We can see why this is many people’s home away from home. ?

The best part about this accommodation are their outside spaces.  The top terrace has a really nice area with hammocks, tables, and chairs overlooking the pool and palm trees.  And the ground garden area next to the pool is also supplied with lounging chairs and comfortable areas to enjoy.  The swimming pool is small, but it is really very pleasant and beautiful.  The gardener (an older gentleman) does an excellent job with keeping the garden area and the pool super clean and enjoyable.  The entire property feels peaceful and safe, and has a pleasant vacation vibe.  Our studio was practical and comfortable -  it has a sleeping area separated by wall from a comfortable sitting area with too small sofas and the table.  The kitchenette (with fridge, microwave, stove) was also very useful, and had a separate eating area and chairs.  Special thank you to the hotel administration for incorporating various living and sleeping areas to make a visit enjoyable and cozy.

We stayed at this hotel two years ago, and at that time I gave it a 10 point rating.  However, two years later, several things need to be improved.  Cleanliness could be better - the shelves in the bathroom had not been cleaned for a long time and were super dirty when we arrived.  I also had to clean the shelves in the bedroom - they were super dusty.  The provided dishes in the kitchen had not been washed very well, and there were still pieces of food attached to some of plates and cups when we arrived, so I had to re-wash them myself to make sure it is done correctly.  The sponge to wash dishes left in our kitchen was super old and used, and quite frankly some people may find it disgusting to use.  It really surprised me why the hotel management would not leave a new sponge - they are so cheap to buy and replace.  A few dish towels also would have been helpful to have in the kitchen.  We also found that the studio lacked general maintenance - loose door knobs, loose hook for holding toilet paper, towells looked and felt old (though they were clean).  I would recommend that someone from hotel administration would periodically inspect the rooms to see if certain things need to be changed or updated.  Water pressure was low, and it took several minutes for hot water to appear (plumbing is old, so it is understandable).  Also, even though we could purchase drinking water from the hotel - I'm really surprised that this relatively expensive accommodation did not come automatically with a large container of drinking water for guests to use - all places we stayed at in Yucatan (even the budget places) had that provision - it creates a better impression for guests to feel welcome.  With a few improvements, changes and updates this accommodationd could be a really nice choice.

Old style comfortable hotel a few blocks away from the pier and very easy to walk to the Malecon. Very friendly and competent staff.

Loved the location, walking distance to the Malecón. Quiet neighborhood with convenience store on the same block.

Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Accomodation was traditional Mexican. Facilities, pool, patios and decks well maintained and comfortable. Comfortable walking distance to downtown shopping, restaurants and entertainment. Guest requests immediately addressed. Great spot to socialize with other guests.

A little gem! Perfectly clean, very well located less than 5 minutes walk to the bus station-10 minutes to a major supermarket (chedraui) and the main beach promendade. Lots of places to eat nearby to suit all budgets. The closest beach is 2 blocks over. Less than 5 minutes walk. Lovely pool and plenty of seating in sun or shade. Not at all noisy in this area and the rooms are well equipped, with a full kitchen, the whole place was very clean and comfortable. It was relaxing and peaceful and some other guests were snow birds staying 6 months as it’s so nice. Great location to explore progreso and beyond. We highly recommend this place.

Could use some more cooking utensils - sharp knives and another saucepan in room 3

nice decor in the room and especially in the communal areas. lovely garden full of plants and flowers, also on the terrace. receptionist Rut speaks excellent English and she is warm and approachable, a real delight. well equipped and clean communal kitchen.

the beach nearest to the hotel is not as good as the one on the other side of the pier: no umbrellas / sunbeds to rent, and generally looking empty and abandoned.

Pool was excellent and very appreciated on some very hot days. Air conditioning, location and the STAFF were awesome!

Our only complaint was the total lack of hot water when showering and doing dishes. The kitchens could use one good frypan and updated cooking utensils.
