Hotel Caribe Merida

The room was unexpectedly small. The bathroom extremely small. No drawers. No Coffee service.

great location, breakfast was very good. good room rates

Rooftop pool was understated gem. Lower level garden also very nice.

Perfect location for sites and amazing market. Extremely helpful staff.

Good location!

We stayed in Room 35, across the hall from the staff supply room. Two mornings at 7am the staff began talking and laughing. We were awakened by the noise ... since we were on vacation, we wanted to sleep longer. Disappointing and inconsiderate.

Is on downtown next to all the stores.

It was cockroaches in the room no hot water no wifi for 3 days . They need to refund me my money I left Oct 3th.

The look of the hotel and the lobby. The pool. The general atmosphere. Plus the great location.

The room: The mosquitos. No screens and no ceiling fan. The sheets. The pillow. The bed. The plastic mattress pad.

The building has character, super beautiful! Great location, the personnel were super friendly, specially the guy who took us to the parking lot! He was friendly and polite

The fan-lamp in the room was very noisy

Great location.

The first room was dark and gloomy so I requested a room change to the top floor which was much better.

Lesson learned

. Unwelcoming reception.Rooms given were musty, nasty bathroomAsked for better rooms. Not much better although bathrooms were improvedDecided not to stay as felt unsafe and uncomfortable.Had booked non refundable and just walked away from this as a learning lesson.Never assume that just because location and front lobby look good that the rooms will be fine.

Perfect location. Room was clean and had everything we needed.

Better Pillows.

Amazing location 1 block away from the historical centre of the city. Area is vibrant and well lit. Building is historic with a lovely courtyard. Beds are very comfortable.

Pillows are uncomfortable - large and overly firm. Be aware that the rooms are small - 2 double beds with 4 adults was a tight squeeze. Bathroom is also very small. Not a dealbreaker if you plan on being out, exploring the area and not sitting in the room.

Great location, the garden and pool were nice.

The room was too small and need to renovate, it looks different from the pictures, kind of old.

Location was on a small parc square and walking distance from all major sights or lovely restaurants and shops. The building was beautiful colonial style, rooms spacious, bathroom tiny.

We had no water, no toilet flush, no lights or AC or fan from around 10:30 PM until 5:30 AM! Nobody did anything, the hotel was pitch dark. No emergency lights after a few hours. No one at the reception everybody could walk in. We found personel and asked; They called a company they told us and the next day that it was the government who did this, but all buildings next tu us had lights. Not even flash lights were available. Everyone at the reception desk the next day gave us a different story, nobody helped.Pool was lovely in shape and location, but very dirty water unfortunately.

Location was great. Staff was amazing & the hotel landscaping/architecture were beautiful

The bed wasn’t very comfortable (REALLY firm) & there was no hot water

Great location, clean, quiet, friendly staff

Beautiful and clean. Check in was super quick, location was perfect and the staff was friendly. Highly recommended.

Beautiful historic building with lovely peaceful garden in the central courtyard.Fantastic location, within easy walking distance of all the sights.Nicely appointed, comfortable room with an updated bathroom.Great to be able to cool down in the pool on a hot day.We loved it!

Excellent location, clean, quite, friendly staff.

The staff absolutely made our stay work. We had a flat tire and problems with a rental car and they helped us get squared away in a situation where our Spanish skills are limited. Could not have continued the vacation without them.

Room was very humid/moldy. Would absolutely insist on an upstairs room.
