    • Nice hotel in a central place. Big rooms. Awesome hotel staff that attend to you right away.

    Cons -

    • No Netflix in all rooms. Step into pool was very deep. No hand rail to get into pool.
    • There must have been mold in the room, because we'd get cold like symptoms, coughing etc... This was the second room we had as the first room they put us in was right next to the elevator and the a/c was bad. The hotel restaurant food was cold and bland
    • Limited parking space, Leaking a/c, Hot water not always available.

I´m really dissapointed. Estoy muy decepcionada.

Room: We requested a quiet room in advance and received the opposite: a room near the main corridor and the elevator. However, due to the hotel's layout, the rooms face either the main corridor, the pool bar, or the main street, making it very difficult to find a quiet room. Additionally, the walls aren't concrete, so I could hear sneezing, conversations in the next room, or even when the TV was turned on.Furthermore, there were far too many mosquitoes in the room, which was dangerous as they transmit various diseases. The hotel offered to fumigate immediately, but with a chemical that required us to be out of our room for at least three hours, and even then, the smell would be too strong to be in the room.We requested a room change, but that wasn't possible. My partner had to go and find a less invasive mosquito repellent that would allow us to feel safer, as the hotel couldn't help us.Restaurant/Bar: I ordered a Tlalpeño soup the first night we arrived, and it turned out the cheese in it was bad and gave me a severe intestinal infection. I had to go to the doctor and buy medication. Unfortunately, it was very severe, and I spent three days with nausea and diarrhea, so I couldn't enjoy my stay in Mérida.Pool: Unfortunately, it's quite run down, not at all like it looks in the hotel's advertising photos. The floor is peeling and gives a very bad impression. Additionally, there's a lot of weeds around the pool that can hurt your feet if you walk barefoot.Staff: There's very little staff available, both at reception and in room service. Every time we called reception, they took forever to answer, and if we needed assistance in our room, it also took too long, so we preferred to go down and speak directly with the reception staff.-----------------------------------------------------

I really wanted to give this location a 10, especially because the hotel staff was super friendly and accommodating and I am familiar with the Maya brand. It was a one night stay to be closer to the airport after 2 weeks on the peninsula. I do find, however, that there are a few things to bring to attention (I didn't say anything until after I checked out). I had asked for a garden/pool/courtyard room (what was listed on Booking) but got a window overlooking rooftops of the city with no real view but an abandoned building across the street. That's OK, I wasn't there to hang out in the room and not the reason for the lower review score. The room was fine, but DEFINITELY needs blankets or bed covers not just sheets to accommodate those with different sleep needs (so if you sleep with the a/c on to keep the room cooler and filter the humidity definitely ask for covers!!!). The reason I lowered my review is because there was a constant and ongoing LOUD humming on and off the whole time, only to find out afterward that the room backs to the mechanisms for the elevator so every time it moved it sounded like a lion roaring (and had slight vibration). It prevented sleep and then woke me up really really early. More so, however, is restaurant staff - they can do better considering the other amazing staff members! I have lived in Mexico for a while and know how service works here, I am patient, I am kind, and I tend to OVER tip but I was all but ignored. I definitely don't appear native but those who did got immediate service and a smile, while they wouldn't even look my direction when I waved or tried to catch their eye. When I finally flagged somebody down, it apparently wasn't until they realized I speak proficient Spanish that they even asked what I wanted to eat (not knowing because I never got a menu) or bring me coffee. The food wasn't bad when I finally got served but sadly disappointing end to my stay in Merida.

Noise in room (elevator) and restaurant. Location is GREAT but streets have no lights (not a consideration for the score, just pointing out for those who like to walk).

The location is near the ADO bus station and cathedral. At least from the outside, it appeared clean and comfortable.

I am an experienced, solo traveler. When I stayed here, I was at the last week of a 4 month trip through Mexico and Central America. I had managed to stay healthy the entire trip. However, after one breakfast at the hotel restaurant, I spent the rest of my stay in my room, running to the bathroom. I had the worst case of diarrhea of my life and I am not completely over it yet. I had to cancel my tours, lost my deposit (though, the details of the tour--such as time and pick up location--kept changing and I was uneasy about it anyway) and saw nothing of Merida the four nights I stayed there. All of this was disappointing and uncomfortable, but I was willing to take it in stride. What put me over the edge was that they wanted to charge me extra for "soiling" the sheets.

The pool was great! Just like the picture shows, very good size, easy steps in and out. Just a few blocks to the main square, Walked a lot! Always felt very safe.

Really nothing we didn't like. Everyone was very helpful. Bellboys Johnny & Adan were both very helpful giving us information and directions and arranging rides. Enjoyed the daily newspaper in the lobby & Selectiones (Readers Digest in Spanish). Included breakfast was perfect & coffee in the room was great too.

Air con in the room was good. The location is convenient to walk down to town

The noise. My room in particular was opposite the lift which seems to make an awful noise every time it's used. People and kids were constantly screaming and running up and down the hall way very late into the night - all three nights. Staff didn't do anything to make them quiet. The room hasn't been updated since 1970. The window was internal which was not advertised, in fact booking.com lists balcony as a feature. The staff weren't very helpful. Breakfast is chaotic and not good value for money. Just one type of breakfast - eggs, get thrown at you.

A nice quiet facility; very clean, and the staff were all very friendly and professional.

Would be nice to have a fridge in the room. Some of the rooms close to the pool may be noisy at times.

The staff were very nice (especially Jony). Room was clean with nice beds. Really liked the location close to restaurants and downtown shopping and activities.

Not enjoyable because of the rude waiting staff.

Most of the waiting staff were unhappy and some were actively rude which had a big impact on our stay. We had to leave early most mornings, and the breakfast always took about 20 to 30 mins to arrive, so we just opted for the continental but even that was slow. We asked if we could take away the coffee in our own take away mugs, and two staff refused even though there was no issue previously. When I followed up to ask why we couldn't I found them both laughing about the situation. I never encountered that kind of hostility in what is supposed to be an area of hospitality. We would never stay there again for this very reason. It was also very noisy some nights with people talking loudly in the corridors and going between rooms. There was one very helpful waitress, she was kind and tried to accommodate our request. The cleaning staff were also very good.

The location not far from the centro histórico.

Staff limited to make decisions. Toilet was broken they made us wait instead of moving us to another room. They let us know they needed the managers approval they did have rooms. The manager never answered. So we had to leave our luggage at the front desk went to dinner while they fixed the toilet. No apologies given.

the location was ok , the food was good

i didn't like the fact that the first nigh they didn't have a control for the tv , and the stuff was not so helpful

Pool area is very nice, hotel close to plaza grande. Breakfast was included and choices were unlimited.

No table and chairs in the room, only a vanity. No mini fridge in the room. No cushions on pool lounge chairs. Only one towel per person in the bathroom.
