    • Beautiful, elegant, and sophisticatedly crafted. We had a delightful time. The staff went above and beyond!!! Chris please tell everyone thank you for me. It is ‘the place” to stay for sure
    • Location is fantastic , Staff more than friendly Breakfast where fantastic Restaurant for dinner is really good service
    • We loved this hotel - it’s charmingly and uniquely decorated, the room was beautiful (it’s also one of only a handful of hotels locally that seem to offer a twin room w queen beds(, the pool was gorgeous and it’s perfectly located

    Cons -

    • The feel of being a guest in a family luxurious mansion with great folks taking care of you each day.
    • Staff forgot to provide us with a boxed lunch as promised because we had a very early tour. We can understand the error, however we never received a proper apology. For how much we paid, we think we deserve better.
    • Toilet didn’t work so good , stayed here 12 years ago and was brilliant starting to show signs it needs a overhaul again

Nothing - couldn’t have been better if we’d designed every detail ourselves.

The rooms and the decor is very nice, but it was very noisy. We had a suite with pool view and we could hear everything from the reception and they (the staff mainly) were very loud… We also had a 5 course dinner reserved with their restaurant for New Year’s Eve, but it was really bland food and tasteless. During our entire 10days trip to Mexico, this was our worst dinner and it was also extremely expensive for the quality (payed appropriately 150 dollars pp..) the Stay was noisy but the decor and the rooms were really nice, but for the restaurant, we strongly recommend eating somewhere else.

Restaurant was a bad experience, and it was very loud (noise from the reception..). Overrated for this price

    Great location. Good staff.

Many of the fixtures were dated, especially the bathroom sink and shower. Not enough hooks to hang towels. Lighting not very good in room. It all seemed dated for a high end hotel.Dinners and food in restaurant often good, but inconsistent, especially breakfast.

Great staff, fabulous restaurant, ideal location

Rooms need total updating and redesign. I had a suite overlooking the pool, except maybe that was 20 years ago. One could not see the pool anymore because of the tree canopy now. Also the picture posted on booking.com showed a room that had an outdoor balcony. Mine had no balcony. False advertising for sure. Also the large window was filthy and always had condensation on it. Get new windows. Yoga mats were absolutely disgusting. These are cheap to replace. There is no excuse. Hallways are way too dark at night. Downstairs entry area was nice. My room needs major updating. The deadbolt on my door was totally nonfunctional. I never worked from looking at it. I travel a lot. This was way overpriced. Stay someplace else. The staff told me she would pass on my observation that the booking.com photo was not what I got. I never heard back from anyone on this. Again staff was excellent from front desk staff, bell men and restaurant staff. Marriott needs to spend significant dollars on the property.

Hotel was tastefully decorated and furnished and is in a good location

The hotel is a little tired. The aircon in the room was very noisy. The restaurant menu (which was also the room service menu) was over engineered …one couldn’t get a simple salad (eg Caesar salad) or a club sandwich…staples of a room service menu

The hotel is a beautiful 100-year old house decorated with lots of style. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms, too. The bed very comfortable. The staff very accomodating and the breakfast very tasty, especially the croissants freshly made each morning.

I couldn't sleep due to the heavy noise from the ancient AC system and the mini-fridge. A better cleaning/maintenance of the premises is necessary.

    Good value for breakfast.

Bathroom plumbing in our room (hotel room #2) needs attention. We reported this to the front desk when we left so the issue has probably been addressed.

Beautiful and quaint hotel, great location, quiet courtyard to relaxe and swim! The BEST restaurant in a Boutique Hotel; we ate in the Rosas y Xocolate Restaurant four of the five nights; really it is among the finest!

Lights in room could be brighter

Excellent customer service. The personell was amazing in helping with anything.Large high-ceiling room.Very good food for breakfast and dinner restaurant (if you choose to eat here) with live music. Also good service at the dinner restaurant. And goooood bread with olive oil. Amazing location - close to most places within walking distance. Located on a vibrant street. Option of Valet parking or parking in the street. We parked in the street and had no problems.

The floors were not cleaned in the rooms. They kept changing our towels even if we hanged them up because we didn’t want them changed (eco-wise).

    location , staff and restaurant

    need a little more maintenance

    5CaitlinPosted on: 3-30-2023

    The location.

This hotel needs love! The property is visibly run down everywhere. Our room had water damage on the ceiling, paint chips along every wall, and stained furniture. The pool area deck is made of worn down wood that is warped, the pool is unheated (which is typical for the city). The water in the shower didn’t get very hot. One of the best features of this hotel is the outdoor tub, but the water doesn’t stay warm long enough to fill it. For $250 a night I expected more.

Good choice and as breakfast was included we were very happy.

Would have been nicer to have had a heated pool with some sunshine to sunbathe as this was in the shade....

    8LouisePosted on: 2-4-2023

Location was great, staff very friendly and helpful, rooms & bathrooms a good size with a nice outdoor bath & breakfast was good quality (& a lot of it!). It was very busy for breakfast on the weekend, but the staff found tables for hotel guests very quickly.

For the price point it was relatively expensive compared to other places we stayed. The rooms could do with a lick of paint, the spa was closed (which we were informed about beforehand), however the refurb meant banging throughout the day. It states there is parking, but this is on street, not a private car park. Food in the restaurant for dinner was not great, nor was the service - would recommend going elsewhere instead, as there are nicer, cheaper places to eat in the area.

It was delicious and loved ordering off the menu, along with a fruit plate, croissant & coffee great way to start our day off ?
