Hotel Colón

Great location. Hot showers. Beautiful, unique hotel.

The hotel is right in Merida Centro, the staff was super friendly and respectful. There is a nice clean pool and the hotel has a small restaurant on site where they offer breakfast.

My particular room was right next to the elevator which caused a bit of noise. But it wasn´t so bad to request a change. It is a big hotel and there are a variety of rooms, so it may be a good idea to look at some.

We requested first foor and the.room had a humidity smell. They offer first floor room. The curtains were so old that didn't work to make the room comfortable dark at night. Hand towel was not there (when we arrived).I had to ask for one. Across street there is hotel Colonial (we got there because my friend got confused, and she stayed there before) sadly they didn't have availability. My friend told me Colonial it's a nice hotel, and both hotels have the same prices ?‍♀️.

Beds were comfortable, location was central, two staff members were very helpful and kind

Man who checked us in was unhelpful. Room smelled of humidity. Bathroom smelled like feces and black water. Sink leaks around the faucet when you turn it on. Floor was unswept and two floor tiles came up off the floor entirely. Only two of the five outlets worked. Bathroom door had a hole punched through it. Toilet seat had to be yanked apart. TV had to be turned on manually and was quite high off the ground. The rooms acoustics and proximity to the hotel lobby were miserable. I got a rash on my hand after our stay. There was dust and cobwebs in the drawers. Mysterious black and grey stains on the bedsheets.

Small details would make it so much better. One dollar toilet paper holder instead of rolls on the floor or toilet tank. Do not disturb signs etc

The room was moldy and mildew and the bathroom had a terrible stench

location is great, everyday cleaning with fresh towels and bed sheets, low price for the stay, elevator

The hotel is clean and comfortable, good location.

The included breakfast wasn’t amazing, the toasted bread was hard and cold. The parking is about 3 blocks away.

The hotel is convinently located on a nice street where you can do some local shopping and find good local food on foot. The room was spacious enough to handle our family of 5 (3 kids)

The pool didn’t have lights in the water like in the last picture of the ad and the WiFi was only good if you were near the reception desk/cafeteria. Two minor things that would not stop me from returning.

The Wi-Fi did not work in our room or at the pool, sometimes it would work one way or close to the reception but that offered no privacy. Our room was in the middle of the hotel with no Garden view or pool view as promised, there are no power outlets close to the bed as promised and the breakfast was very minimal in the same everyday - cold pre-toasted bread with cereal and some fruit... Pretty just planning for what we paid for! The room we are in also had windows in it with no curtains and the light in the hallway stayed on all night so our room could not be darkened.

The staff was exceptional, polite, kind, and always disposed to help. The location of the hotel is convenient near downtown. The air conditioner enabled us to fight the hot weather.

Even when the room was clean, there were cockroaches in, and we could smell some moisture in the air. We didn't have TV channels available on the device, but the Internet network was a great option to watch some streaming.

Have stayed here before. Amazing location. Amazing suite size with balcony. Huge potential. Best pool in Merida. Nice staff but limited English. Reasonable priced.

There appeared to be mold in many areas of bedroom and bathroom. Drapes were streaked with mold. Shower curtain had mold as well in different areas of the bathroom. Was not the cleanest either. Soap from previous guests in the bathtub which was never wiped down. No security chain which was obviously once there.

The location is central, but loud due to all the bars around.

The room was extremely dirty and full of mold.way too expensive for a dirty moody room.

The rooms were very clean, with the exception of high area's and windows, backs of doors etc. Plumbing in room 232 bad. Floor got soaked when sink used.

It was noisy that night with kids running in the hallways.

There wasn't much good about this hotel.

The hotel is very run-down and dirty. The first room they offered us was disgusting. We didn't want to put our bags down. We asked for a different room, and what they offered was barely better. The toilet seat was dirty with mold and other 'things' on it. The air conditioner was also broken, which they had warned us about. We didn't want to touch anything, because everything was visibly dirty and moldy. The sheets thankfully were clean.The room also was too far from the router to get any wifi. The included breakfast is also as cheap as the rest of the hotel. Do not stay here.

Everybody was helpful and professional. The pool was very clean and relaxing. The location was perfect for shopping and eating.

My family and I stayed for a month and did not have really any bad experience to speak of other than wifi issues which would drop signal every once in a while.
