Pros +
- The hotel itself is very beautiful.
- Immediate response to request. cute room
- Very nice staff but they could provide more help with activities fir turist like boat rebtals, turist information where to go … they just have tours packages but that is not ideal for every traveker I would have expect more infirmation and help
Cons -
- Wish it could be closer to downtown
- The food was just buffet style for all meals breakfaat was mot even included when the room fee was 700usd per night I would have expect at least the breakfast to be included included. When I asked if i could order food because I did not eant a full buffet they said it was not possible. So i had all my meals outside the hotel to experience local cousine. I was expectong given the cost of the room more flexibility for the guest on the food menu.
- We were initially given a room right by the restaurant; we’ve stayed here numerous times in the past and knew that the restaurant staff arrive early and can be noisy, so requested a room in a quieter location. I’m not sure if they thought this would be funny, but we were put in a room where the staff would meet up in the morning (very early) and chat and fill their mop buckets. There is also a giant birdcage filled with birds right outside the door, and in the morning, they were pretty noisy. The rooms have windows that are not very well insulated against noise, but there are some rooms in the hotel where you would be unaffected. Upon checking out, I let the manager lady know about the issues with the noise and she told me that next time, I need to request a room on the 3rd floor. I asked why I wouldn’t just be given that in the first or even second place? She simply turned her back on me. She was very rude and while she acknowledged that the noise in the area where we were placed did exist, she took zero accountability for it.

We usually like this hotel, but the staff were really lacking this time.

We like that it is dog friendly and has heaters, but staff could be a bit friendlier.
The staff seem to have ire for their guests, which is never a comfortable feeling. We were put in a quiet spot for this visit, which meant we would be able to sleep because it wasn’t in a high-traffic area, so at least we had that going for us.
The premises and the garden are / is beautiful
The rooms were sticky and there was a strange smellNo regular breakfast/ dinner option, only buffet
Old hacienda style hotel. The parking attendents and laundry worker were exceptional. The restaurants were beautiful, and the food was very good, but portions were small (except for pancakes.) The maids were very heloful.
The rooms were dark, had no a/c, and the bathroom had mold here and there. The bed could be more comfortable. I was surprised that the 2 receptionists I saw were not too excited to see me. The parking attendant bent over backwards to help clear things with them.
Beautiful gardens with fruit trees. Beautiful architecture. Restaurant was nice and has the best sparkling lemonade that everyone should try. Brunch buffet had authentic purepecha foods that were delicious and fresh. They had live music that was excellent
Room could have been much cleaner. Window areas had thick dust and closet smelled of cat urine.
Not much
There were some spiders in the bathroom, the pillows smelled bad, bed was too soft
Staff are super friendly and there when you need them. The location is good. We only stayed one night and chose the hotel as it was one of only a few that allowed pets to stay. The hotel has a large garden where our dogs could run around. The room was fine but to be honest, we found the beds small. If we had stayed longer we would have asked for a bigger room.
The room and beds are small for a family of 4 with 2 small dogsl, they charge extra per pet, which I found a little cheeky considering the size of the room. We arrived late and decided to eat at the hotel restaurant. Ordered pizza. I wouldn't recommend it.
The heater in the room
I had to cross the main street to get to my room
The layout of the hotel is great - lots of different wings and 2 inner courtyards, one of which was set up for a wedding while we were there. I was glad I'd asked for a quiet room as they put us into a wing far from the celebrations. It was not pool season but my husband had a dip anyway and we enjoyed being all alone on the lounges in the sunshine. The valet staff was especially good.
While the location of our room should have been perfect, there were several families in our wing that were part of the wedding. They left their doors open, the kids screaming and playing in the hallways, the adults shouting to each other between their rooms without bothering to even walk to the various rooms, indifferent to there being other guests in the hotel who were not part of their party. It was hideous. I don't know what the hotel could have done about it, they were rude to the hotel staff. They finished their celebrations just after midnight, thankfully. Also, the kitchen is not set up for individual English travellers who like Western meal times. They kept wanting us to wait until "brunch" at 11ish which truly doesn't work for a diabetic expecting breakfast starting at 8 or so. The food was good when we finally received it but it seemed to be a great problem for them to prepare 2 breakfasts. Thank heavens for google translate.
bed was super comfortable, very dark for good sleeping, super quiet, gorgeous building, nice big parking and safe in behind big doors with a guy always there. supplied coffee and coffee maker was excellent, TV with one English movie channel was a bonus...lol...good access to combos, good location 2.3 km to centro
sadly there was one waiter who just had a hard time smiling or being friendly...food was ok...beers were expensive
Vintage (retro) property. Built in 30s of the 20th century. Showing all the vibe preserved from different eras of Mexico history... at least for the last 90 years. COOL and Majestic. Spacios rooms and facilities (built according to ancient standards ) that are not seen in more modern properties around the world. Just cool place place if you want to get a glimpse of what Mexico looked like around 100 years ago.... HIGHLY recommended!!!!
all good
It was very nice the first night. Then a bus tour came the second day and were put in the rooms all around as and they stood in The hallways talking very loud. They were up early with little consideration for others around them. It would have been nice if we had been in a different area.
I think it’s good to keeps groups together but away from people travelling on there own. Where they are not on a time schedule.
Beautiful colonial building and grounds. Room was large and the bed was very comfortable. Loved the restaurant on site. Parking was available for free which was appreciated. Internet was suitable for our needs. Would stay again.
Was a bit far from the Historic District and we weren't able to figure out public transportation so we drove each time we went.
Loved the architecture and history of the hotel..Although I did not eat at the hotel I found the dining area very elegant and inviting. The hotel is well kept and very clean.
The grounds are quite expansive and lovely...perfect for a morning or evening walk with or without your pup...every space within the hotel is sparkling clean...parking is easy...staff is very helpful and friendly
i was not impressed with my dinner at the restaurant, though the staff was very attentive and polite...also, i had a courtyard facing room and could hear people walking by as they chatted away in not discreet voices
Clean and beautiful Hacienda. The best view are the rooms looking out to the garden.
At 9 AM, someone came knocking at my door, and they said they just wanted to know if someone was in the room. I was sleeping and woke up by someone knocking at my door, even though the check-out was until 11:00 AM
The gardens were big and beautiful and restaurant was delicious.
There was not a fan and only way to open room to outside was balcony doors and we didnt feel comfortable leaving doors open at night.
