    Pros +

    • The hotel common spaces were beautiful , clean and comfortable. Great location.
    • Perfect location and a great pool. Staff were great. Beach chairs were suppliedIf the courtyard area was utilized as a guest seating and coffee area it would be so much nicer.
    • I loved the cleanliness of the room and the amenities it had in it. Everything from the linens, pillows, cooking implements and toiletries were much better than expected. The only thing I would improve on would be to have a memory foam mattress pad on top of the mattress but underneath the vinyl mattress protector. The beds were quite hard. But everything else was pretty darn good. the pool, outdoor lounge chairs, pool towels, and BONUS private umbrellas, tables and chairs directly on the beach. The location in town was very good as well. Excellent restaurant for breakfast right across the street "Patio" where I think we had the best omelets in our life. We couldn't have asked for more. We look forward to a return trip.

    Cons -

    • After seeing the pictures of rooms that were posted, I chose a room with 2 beds. There was no description of the actual room we were assigned. Our room, #2, was at ground level with windows facing the very busy street. Of course it was very noisy! It had a makeshift “closet” area with space enough only for 1 person’s clothes & other personal items. Pool lounges had dried on bird poo and one had a 6 inch rip on one side of the seat. There were no seat cushions.
    • Our room opened to a courtyard that was mostly used for storage and a work area. Our view included cleaning buckets and brooms and mops. We also had a view from our table of the laundry and machines.
    • The beds were quite hard. That's all I could say.

Tables under the palapa and the receptionist Marissa. She was very friendly unlike her co-worker.

    Can’t think of anything

Location excellent. Right on the beach, nice pool.Enjoyable stay, Thank you Caesar for all your help.

No lounge chairs for the beach, just regular hard plastic chairs. Bring small pillows if hard chairs are a problem on your back. All furniture in the room and outside the room is also extremely uncomfortable. Again, glad we had our own small pillows with us.Beds ok, but not spectacular.Bathroom in the room we had (#18) was pretty disgusting. Needs major reno work, and very small. Hubby had to back in to sit on the toilet. He is 6'4".

Awesome location. Nice place and staff.

Paid higher price for a bungalow but got Room #1, probably the worst one in the hotel, facing directly onto the main street sidewalk. If the curtains were open, people walking by could look straight into the room. All other ground-floor rooms, including the cheaper ones, were not facing the street.

They were super friendly ,The pool and the short distance to the beach

No kitchen exhaust fan, no bathroom exhaust fan and the little stove the gas was barely coming out

    Location

When I arrived I was not given the room I booked and needed to pay additional money to move to the room I booked. I was very disappointed by this and how I all of a sudden couldn’t access the pictures i had used to book. I wanted a kitchen space and did not get one till the 3rd night and had to pay $200 more. I won’t be using booking.com for this reason as it was very frustrating to have to argue after travelling and then to pay more money.

    Location is great

There was a locked door leading to the room next to ours, and we could hear people talking and snoring all night as if they were in our room, made our stay ans night very inconfortable and awkward

Pool was amazing. Staff was very helpful and nice. Location was perfect.

    All good!

Location was excellent. Within walking distance to pretty much everything.Facility continuously attended to by cleaning ladies.Comfortable beds and pillows.

Would be great if there was a couple of umbrellas for pool loungers. Afternoon sun can be very intense.

Close to bus station and downtown. Right on the beach . Nice pool

    No kitchenette.

Great location. Access to the beach is right there. Clean ,well maintained pool . Nice lounge area. Easy enough to get around close to amenities, bus station, bank machines, grocery stores. Maybe a ten minute walk to the square. Helpful staff

Change of management from the last time we visited. Not quite as accommodating but friendly. Our seating area, had two most unclean torn cushions that my husband had to request that they be covered in order to use them. Which they did do. Otherwise fine.

    8DianePosted on: 4-16-2024

everything was good with the room.

On Saturday and Sunday nights, especially Saturday, there was considerable noise from the room next door, #4, until after 2:30 AM. I guess the sound rules are not enforced.

    9LeonardPosted on: 3-16-2024

Spotlessly clean, room was well appointed and big, although admittedly we were upgraded to a poolside room. Staff were friendly. Great location near core of Melaque, close to bus station and main square and, of course, right in the ocean. Pool was at waterfront so wonderful ocean view from pool deck.

Both the main kitchen sink tap and the bathroom sink tap dripped. They need maintenance.

No breakfast at this hotel. We weren't expecting it, so it was not an issue for us. Very good breakfast place right across the street- very handy and delicious food. The location of this hotel is perfect, and it's really the one redeeming feature of an otherwise two star facility. Beautiful beach and pool- right on the Malecon with many restaurants and shops nearby. Reasonably quiet, friendly cleaning staff.

If I ever was to return to this place I would only stay in one of the front rooms by the pool. They are the only ones with a pleasant outside seating area and a view of the beach. In my opinion they are the best We had a room behind those ones, no outside seating, no view. Very loud A/C and extremely poor water supply. Each day was a question as to whether or not the toilet would flush or the shower would work. The kitchen had a coffee maker and a microwave, a two burner stove and fridge. We didn't use the stove. We could have but it didn't seem like the best plan. Plus if we'd used a lot of dishes we couldn't have washed them since- no water!

Complex was well situated in town, however some noisey from main street traffic. Brought my own coffee maker and electric fry pan which was quite useful.Manager and staff very friendly and helpful. Cleanliness was superb.Located on the beach

Booking through this company cost 10,000 peso more than if I had contacted hotel directly.Noisey from main street.Pool not too largeolder facility but comfortable. Had to ask for hangers, water,

Great location. We were given a room right at the front by the pool. Loved it!

I wish there had been a bar fridge as we had packed some food. They also stated toiletries were included and they only offered a bar of soap.

Las Arenas has the best location in Melaque. The staff are super friendly and it’s situated in the best spot on the beach. Rooms are rustic but they have everything you need. Pool is older but nice.
