    Pros +

    • The place is very well located in the city centre and it felt very safe. Although I was travelling with family, I would say it’s also safe enough for female solo travellers. The hotel was clean, and the person at the front desk was very friendly and polite. One of the beds was very large and extremely comfortable. The other double bed was a bit smaller, so it might not be as comfortable for taller or larger people.Breakfast was really nice. The coffee, fruit, juices, cereal, yoghurt, bread, and coffee and other drinks provided were all of very good quality and constantly topped up.
    • Very clean nice staff good Wi-Fi simple breakfast
    • Location was great. The room had a spacious layout with a separate dressing room and bathroom. It was more like staying in an old-fashioned apartment than a hotel. Very charming details in the room.

    Cons -

    • We were a group of four, so we were assigned a 2-bed room in the basement. The room was spacious and clean, but the main issue was the humidity. When we arrived, the room smelled slightly musty, and we quickly realized there was a humidity problem. There was a large dehumidifier in the room, but after the first night, it was already full. This is not the best option if you have respiratory issues or are sensitive to humid environments. When I booked, I filtered specifically for places with parking, and this hotel appeared in the results. However, there is no parking on the premises, which I found a bit misleading. I understand that on-site parking is difficult to find in the center of Guanajuato, but we did see other hotels nearby that did have it.To be fair, the hotel does mention (lower on the listing) that they offer valet parking for an extra fee (300 MXN per day or 20 MXN per hour), and they also send a message before arrival with this information. Since I booked via the app and relied on the “parking” filter, I didn’t notice the fine print at the time, so I’ll be more careful next time. I also didn’t see their messages early enough because I was travelling. In the end, we didn’t use the valet service and parked at the second suggested option instead, since it was cheaper. Although it looked close on the map, we still needed to take an Uber because it is not a flat location and we had bags, so keep that in mind if you’re travelling by car. Before we arrived, they sent several messages asking for our exact arrival time. I’m not sure why, since reception was staffed 24-hours. They may have wanted to warn us that the valet parking is only available until 8 PM, but that could have been communicated directly without repeatedly requesting our arrival time. I found this somewhat annoying since I was travelling around without a very strict schedule, and I do not want to be answering messages while I am on holiday. We also struggled with the Wi-Fi.
    • The bathroom was a little bit small but adequate
    • The estudiantinas troubadours singing every night directly underneath our window was unexpected. While the tradition is lovely and great fun for the participants, we did not expect it to be so very loud in our room.

The location and the great staff

Very cold and leak in the tub making big lake in the entire bath

The hotel was in an excellent location, close to restaurants and points of interest. The staff were amazing —extremely nice —and the hotel is quaint.

We were not aware how noisy the place is at night. It was impossible to sleep with the music outside. The music is part of the city's traditions, so there is nothing the hotel can change about it. But this is not a place to rest. Also, the rooms downstairs have a sewage smell, which I've noticed in other old buildings.

The location in the centro was the best aspect of this hotel.

Maybe because we needed 2 beds, we were put in a basement room. Dank,b stuffy, smelly, no air other than ceiling fans. No place to sit other than the beds. Hot water in shower didn't last long enough for one shower. Sound of water in the pipes in the wall whenever anyone above is used it.

close to the main attractions, great shower, plenty of space in the bedroom

the sink in the bathroom was too small, would have been nice to have other breakfast options but it probably was listed as continental breakfast

    3BaibelwurmPosted on: 9-5-2025

It is very well situated. Near the interesting spots, though a substantial walk from good restaurants.

I was put in a basement room with no windows and seemed like a dungeon. Had I been claustrophobic, it would have killed me. SHAME ON YOU BOOKING.COM for putting this choice of rooms in your site. The door was unpresentable. The shower windows was broken. Others can see you inside.

    Location

Small room, high price compared with size of the room, it was in the basement, not even a TV in the room.

A great central location but quiet, traditional, welcoming and clean

The location, simple breakfast and room

    3LIZHENPosted on: 5-29-2025

    Convenient location

the lower level room has a bad smell, bed sjeets are not very clean, portable AC is very loud that affects sleeping

    9Manuel A.Posted on: 5-28-2025

    Excellent location and staff.

Room temperature a bit too hot.

    9LeticiaPosted on: 5-28-2025

Very beautiful property, walking distance to everything, very clean, stuff is very kind and helpful.

    No AC.

Location is excellent in the center of Guanajuato. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Wi-Fi worked well. Good supply of hot water for showers.

Not an issue with the hotel but be aware that there is noise throughout the evening until late from singing troubadours bringing groups of tourists through the neighborhood.

    9Lee R.Posted on: 3-20-2025

My room with a balcony on the street was simple, clean, comfortable , newly renovated!! Each evening the troubadours ( walking musicians) would pass by my balcony with a happy crowd of tourists!! This was magical!! So pay the price for a balcony room!!! I did not eat the breakfast , so cannot comment on the food.

    All was good!

    10Wei-JenPosted on: 3-20-2025

    Clean, organized, pretty

    5Alicia N.Posted on: 3-12-2025

this photos do not show the reality the hotel is dark our room was like a cave with no windows

    9VeraPosted on: 2-12-2025

It was cozy and very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. We didn't know but they offer information about tours that you can take that are safe around the city which i think is great.

Something I didn't like is the stairs to go down to the room. The room was great but the stairs made it difficult because we had luggage.
