Cons -
- We stayed at Hotel Plata Condessa in Guanajuato for a few nights, drawn by its prime location right in the heart of the city. The hotel is perfectly situated for exploring the vibrant streets and attractions, which made daytime outings convenient and enjoyable. Our initial room had a lovely balcony overlooking the street, offering great views of the bustling area. However, this came at a cost – the complete lack of soundproofing turned our nights into a nightmare. The constant noise from traffic, pedestrians laughing and yelling, and general street activity was impossible to ignore. I barely got any sleep the entire first night, leaving me exhausted and frustrated.I approached the management about the issue, and to their credit, they promptly switched us to another room that was noticeably quieter and away from the main street. This helped somewhat, but unfortunately, new problems arose. I started noticing itchy rashes on my ankles and legs, which I strongly suspect were from bed bugs in the new room. It was uncomfortable and concerning, detracting from what could have been a relaxing stay.On a positive note, breakfast was included in the rate, which was a nice perk. The selection was decent and provided a good start to the day. While the location and responsive staff are highlights, the noise and potential hygiene issues make it hard to recommend without reservations. If you’re a light sleeper or sensitive to such problems, you might want to look elsewhere. I’d rate it 3 out of 5 stars – potential for better with some improvements.
- The bed in room nine where we stayed at was very uncomfortable. It was almost as hard as sleeping in a camping mat.
- No AC, with limited windows that open to allow in fresh air. The room became progressively warmer, stuffier, despite use of fans.

Clean rooms, strong water pressure in shower,
Remote checkin, no AC, no mini-frig, loud location,
Clean please! Good location! Secure property!
Mattresses need to be outdated! AC needs to be installed!!
The hotel is in a great location and in walking distance to stores, restaurants and transit. The room was comfortable and clean.
The water machine was empty. The check in was a little confusing as it was across the street in another hotel.
Very centrally located hotel. Large, comfortable room in a very charming, historic building. Set in an alleyway off the main street affording some (but not total) insulation from a very noisy town
More of a guest house rather than a hotel. Breakfast served in a sister hotel. Juices, cereals etc were fine but hot food offering was not appealing and often lukewarm.
Location was great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean. Shower had good a good shower head and water pressure was strong enough.
The king size room was rather small. Breakfast was at another hotel. The room was hot at night even with the fan. The doors to the balcony had to stay closed due to the noise and pollution from the cars and busses. The double rooms facing the side street are much bigger and probably much better.
Great location, great facilities, clean room, friendly helpful staff
Downside of a great location is the noise at night but can't really blame the hotel for that, so hard to think of a negative
The location was excellent, the staff were friendly, the bed was comfortable, and good shower.
Great location and staff.
3 flights of stairs. No air conditioning but weather wasn’t too hot.
Convenient location, nice service at front desk
The noise from street and hotel hallways, it is hard to avoid in MX though
Very clean great location excellent room service. The included breakfast was quite nice.
Internet was not strong enough to enter the thick walls of the hotel room
Cozy room and great location. Very friendly, helpful, and professional staff. The shower was wonderful; the pressure and temperature were better than home. If you are staying in Guanajuato Centro, you should know that you should not expect it to be quiet. This is a very lively city, especially downtown and on the weekends. You will not escape thumping music from clubs or passing vehicles, and it is very common to last until 3-4AM. This is not a problem of the hotel. In fact, of the three places I have stayed in Guanajuato Centro, this hotel's soundproofing very well done and actually the best. However, if you are averse to noise, be prepared with realistic expectations. This will be an issue to varying degree no matter what hotel you stay in Centro. I also never saw a single insect anywhere in the hotel, and we had the windows open a lot. Breakfast is served up in a neighboring hotel across the street (they are all part of the same group). It is buffet style, and I thought it was very good, especially the eggs and coffee.Overall, this was an excellent hotel to stay, and the price was great, as well. Highly recommended.
Very clean hotel location is very close to the center, staff is amazing and nice. We booked a tour from the hotel. Definitely going back on my next trip to GTO.
Clean, not too busy everything walking distance good hot water.
The bed was too hard, and there was no ac.
Location was perfect, closed to many amenities and very walkable area.
I didn't like the noise, building not properly insulated, but then again, it's an old building. Bring ear plugs ?
The male staff at the front desk in the afternoon made various arrangements with the driver in Spanish when I left something at Uber, which was very helpful. The room was very well organized, Location is perfect.
There was no heat in the room. I stayed in January, so the temperature at night was about 10 degrees, or there were moments when the futon in the room felt cold.
Perfect locationBeautiful Colonial buildingGreat breakfast provided at a sister hotel just across the streetWonderful, helpful guest service, Amazing luggage serviceSuper clean spacious rooms with updated bathroomsAmazing views
Very noisy location, especially weekends and holidaysUncomfortable bedsNo elevator, lots of stairs
The location was perfect, walking distance to callejon del beso, Teatro Juarez and mercado Hidalgo. Very fast internet and delicious breakfast! The staff was extremely helpful especially with the tour recommendations and booking
The mattress was a bit uncomfortable
