    Pros +

    • Closed to the train stations, restaurants and malls. We liked the breakfast of Western and Japanese. We liked that our room was clean, facing the street. Couple of Yatais was across the street. The public bath was really nice feature.
    • Location, spa
    • Rooftop bath/spa was fine, a Candeo attribute. If you have a late flight, you can check out as usual, leave your bags, and for 1600 yen you can use the bath/sauna to freshen up and change before leaving for the airport or wherever. Komeda Coffee on corner has pretty full menu and good take out.Easy walk to Nishitetsu Tenjin station for direct trains to Dazaifu temples.

    Cons -

    • size of a room
    • the room was the size of a closet. No bottled water every other hotel, including other Candeo Hotels we stayed at on this trip was offered and free in the rooms. we had to pay. Breakfast buffet was good, but no discount was offered either like the other Candeo Hotel in Nagasaki.
    • Stupid light control is incomprehensible if you arrive at night to a dark room. Staff did not instruct in advance.Bed is strangely low to the ground. AC system was noisy and was either on full fan speed or off. Lower floors are noisy and exposed if you open windows.Breakfast was just OK from a Western standpoint, but fine if you like Japanese or Asian breakfasts, I guess. Tenjin area really overwhelmed with Korean and Chinese tourists, which may or may not be your thing.

    Location and onsen

The room was a little small

    9AngelaPosted on: 4-13-2025

Onsen was great, breakfast was very good, place was clean and conveniently located. Room was a little small but to be expected- still good value for money

The staff who served us is very kind and polite. She helped us to change the room which fit us more.

    9MilenaPosted on: 3-7-2025

very kind hotel staff, very spacious room, comfortable beds and the spa area was a big plus for a relaxing evening. there was a major subway line close by and the subway line to the airport was also a few minutes foot walk away from the hotel

Two female staff members were wonderfully helpful. They helped us ship a suitcase via Yamato ta q bin to our next destination. The included Japanese style baths were very welcome.

Inconsistent staff. The first two clerks at the reception were cold, and initially said they cannot help us with the luggage shipping to our next hotel. It was only by chance the following day that the ladies helped us. Room cleanliness was an issue, with dusty carpet and stains on the wall. Very small room for two adults and a toddler.

Breakfast is excellent!Location is great , near train and bus station also the shopping areas

Onsen floor should have a relaxing area

This is my second time staying in Candeo Hotels Fukuoka Tenjin. It is in a perfect location if you like to shop in Tenjin. It is near lots of restaurants, and the famous local Yatai. The hotel has nice hot baths, both indoor and outdoor, and also a sauna. Very easy process for fast checkout too. Their breakfast is nice. Alternatively, a cafe next to the hotel building provides simple coffee and toast breakfast options.

Hotel provided limited parking lots for guests. I made a reservation for a parking lot (via booking.com email communication), however, it was not recorded in the system.

    Location

Aircond was very very loud, toilet was smelly, only, 1 trash bin in the room (none in toilet).

    Onsen

Out of the 5 breakfast, I only managed to have 2 as Long queue to enter restaurant and also Not much variety to choose from.Pillow is not comfortable. Only one pillow is given. When asked for extra pillow, they said no stock. Neck pain after sleeping for 5 nights!

Great location, clean room, and a desk for using the laptop - not so common in hotels nearby. The hotel is surrounded by cute restaurants and bars.

The breakfast ends at 9:30, which is a bit early.

Rooms, at least the one I stayed in, was large enough for a Japanese city (Fukuoka is not Tokyo but still). And, well, there's always to last floor's onsen.

Of all the Candeos I stayed in, this one is the least pleasant, maybe one of the oldest. Rooms are a bit out of fashion, the onsen is kind of small, and the hotel is located just off a very busy street. So don't forget your earplugs...

    6GrahamPosted on: 4-7-2024

Location, abundance of quality restaurants within easy walking distance.

No coffee tea or other supplies. Room size is challenging, very small bathroom. Not recommended for older traveller's.

Great central location. Easy to get around with plenty of convenience nearby. Rooftop bath was great and is one of the main reasons we book with Candeo. Nothing beats a relaxing soak after a day out in the city. We had a great breakfast at the buffet (worth the price!) Staff was friendly and easy to check-in with limited Japanese. There are quite a few Yatai stalls scattered around the hotel if you're looking to try a few.

We tried to make a room change via Booking.com messaging, but it confused the staff and we ended up with a Queen instead of a King. I would not make any changes via messaging in the future. This is more of a Booking.com issue rather than the hotel for not letting us make a room change easily without cancelling and rebooking.

Location is near to subway stations and lots of eateries, grocery store, and shopping. It's not crazily overcrowded like Hakata Station. Public bath is good after a day of outing.

Out of the 5 nights stay, one night I had to wait for about 5 minutes for a locker in the public bath. However, it was still quiet when soaking in bath. Not crowded.

    9CuongPosted on: 11-21-2023

The public bath and staff also good location

    3Andrew W.Posted on: 10-31-2023

    the staffs were very helpful

    1. In a whole the room was not very clean by common standards -- dirty by Japanese standards. You sense a touch of dampness and one mug wasn't even cleaned at all... It was particularly shocking to encounter such cleanliness problems in a proper Japanese hotel. 2. an email received from the hotel requires specifically that all guests from Booking.com must check-in no later than 8PM. If no show by then and no pre-arrangements made, the hotel would cancel your booking unilaterally... This is quite harsh and run contradictory to Booking.com policies. It's the only hotel in my entire 2-week visit that has such bizarre policy. It almost felt discrimination.
