    Pros +

    • location and huge rooms!
    • By the water. Convenient to go to Tenjin. Amazing breakfast spread!!!!! Pretty design
    • It’s a striking piece of architecture. Beautiful inside and out. All-day food available for staying guests. Centrally located.

    Cons -

    • No 24 hour gym.
    • We booked several rooms, some had 2 adults and 2 children. Booking.com recommended the rooms and when we got to the hotel rooms, the beds were exactly the same for just 2 people. Those with kids had a very uncomfortable time trying to squeeze in 4 people in 1 queen bed. I asked front desk whether these rooms can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children and they just didn’t answer me and issued me the rooms. On that note, the staff don’t seem to know much to help their guests, unless it’s lost in translation. Front desk should double as concierge for their guests in case we need assistance in food, booking etc. the system in contacting front desk also is erratic. They should’ve just had a phone in each room. There was also an incident of some guest who happened to be one of the staff friends, who was rowdy and drunk and yet his fellow staff friends didn’t tell him off to be civilized and respectful or just leave. The actual hotel guests, ourselves included, found it very annoying and we all left the dining area. Also, I lost one of my room keys and was charged for it. That’s the first time I had to do that and it wasn’t cheap for a card. Lastly, immediately after check out, it seemed like the staff switched from attentive and hositable to, snobbish and rude. Our flight was late in the afternoon so we had to wait eventually inside the lobby area and staff didn’t allow us to drink our drinks we bought from 7eleven despite us having been guests for a week! The kids were thirsty and hungry and they just kept telling us not to eat/drink in the waiting area. There were a handful of staff members that were very notable in keeping the warmth and assistance with us and we really appreciated them. But the rest were quite inexperienced with how true hospitality should be.

A really wonderful hotel. Very helpful and friendly staff. Location was very handy and walking distance to most of central Fukuoka. The included all day buffet was very handy with a wide range of foods. The decor of the hotel was very different to normal hotel and added to the experience.

Everything was absolutely perfect. The staff is very nice, the food is great, the room is big and perfectly equipped.

    Nothing, we loved everything!

Buffet was excellent, bedrooms was very comfortable, bathroom was lovely, aesthetics were beautiful

    9KanasPosted on: 10-5-2025

Stylish, international, great food, wonderful tube in the bathroom.

Lack of facilities and restaurant choices within the hotel, noisy mandarin speaking customers with lack of parenting children running around.

    9JeremyPosted on: 9-21-2025

The buffet was very well executed by the hotel. The chocolate was outstanding. The room was clean and newly remodeled. The housekeeping staff is doing an excellent job.

I think they should add more coffee options than the automated machine. You can't have 50 peopme at a buffet waiting on a coffee machine.

the lounge is so beautiful. we also love the breakfast and lunch that was included with our stay. the room is also very spacious. the location is great, walking distance from Tenjin and Hakata station.

    9DarylPosted on: 9-2-2025

I felt the rooms were really great, the beds amazing, and the hotel itself was quiet and peaceful and really well located on the edge of Nakasu and Tenjin. Cool architecture as well. The staff were all great and surprisingly every one seemed to speak excellent English. Very multinational crew amongst the hotel staff.

Blackout curtains in the rooms would have been nice. They did not completely keep the light out in the morning, waking me up early. I would have preferred a booking option where I only paid for breakfast. As it was I am not a big fan of buffets, so having those included ended up being not so useful for me as part of the reason I was in Fukuoka was for the restaurants _outside_ the hotel. Also, while the pastries and desserts were very impressive, I would have liked a bit more variety in the buffet lunch and dinner and some healthier options (though there was a very nice salad and tomatoes option available as well as nice fresh fruit that had been cut up).

Love the design of the building!!!! It’s so uniquely constructed and styled, especially the choice of colours, feels like we’ve been transported into a Wes Anderson movie :3 also love it that there’s all day buffet!!! A nice selection of foods for each meal, so convenient for guests staying here :)

Not having gym or pool but that’s not a big deal

    9LoriPosted on: 7-11-2025

Location and stylish ambianceBeautiful and clean room of course the buffet ??

Hotel entrance is confusing at first, we thought is a bar but it’s all good when the staff gave us direction

    9RobinPosted on: 5-21-2025

Room is huge by Japanese standardsBed is very comfortable Lots of little extra carefully planned details and amenities Buffet food available all day Staff very nice and helpful Off quiet street but near Tenjin and Nakasu

Do not pay extra for a balcony - we hoped for view of river but ended up with no view except into building next door hence we didn’t use it10-15 min walk from subway Expensive compared to other Fukuoka options Buffet food is essentially the same, needs better variety and rotationStaff and guests not Japanese if you are seeking an authentic Japanese experience

The best part about this hotel is the free all day dining food! It tastes really good we even skipped some of the meals to come back and eat at the hotel! Menu varies throughout the day and the bread options was so delicious! Highly recommend for people who don’t mind having to explore local food for every meal.

    9JohnPosted on: 5-9-2025

This hotel is in an excellent location with a lot of restaurants and shops close by. Il Palazo features not only an excellent breakfast but an excellent buffet all afternoon and evening with fresh, delicious dishes arriving throughout the day. The food was so good we ate mostly in the hotel except when we met friends for dinner. The Il Palazo is in the Canal Zone which is a nice area to walk around and shop. The staff members are very helpful and multilingual--particularly fluent in English.

So much to like about this hotel. Staff were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a king room Beds were very comfy, room size was big bathroom was amazing and super super clean. Very quiet. Buffet was a great surprise. All day and food was fresh and delicious.Highly recommend this hotel.

Check in was a little disorganised, but in no way interrupted our stay. The location was not convenient for anything but having said that I enjoyed the stay in the hotel more than I enjoyed the city.

    1EdwinPosted on: 5-5-2025

Location close to canal city and tenjin area. All day dining is provided, although not for fussy eaters as menu the same throughout Staff overall helpful in terms of checking in, finding parking, getting a taxi Baby cot available

No amenities Restaurant was unfriendly to kids telling us to quieten our 2 year old who was having a 2min melt down as they had a vip. Given that the hotel caters itself to children by providing baby cots chairs, I don’t think it is appropriate to expect a fully quiet meal time. Haven’t been told anywhere else in Japan that we need to stop our toddler from crying. If the hotel decides to focus on couples and exclude kids/families from its premises, there are many good things about this hotel that can succeed

    9Thu-anhPosted on: 4-16-2025

Staff were very helpful and polite and always approachable.

Only 1 lift for the whole hotelThe all.day buffet food didn't change so seemed repetitive.

    9Thu-anhPosted on: 4-16-2025

The staff were fantastic, lovely, approachable and very helpful.

Only 1 lift for the whole hotel meant long wait times to get up and down.

The security staffs (all of the Sri Lankan staffs) were amazing. They are the reason why Hotel Il Palazzo will become a fantastic choice. Their friendliness, their willingness to help, their smiles and the ability to go above and beyond their jobs make the stay an= unforgettable one.

The Japanese staffs need to learn from the Sri Lankan staffs. Omotenashi is expected from the Japanese crew but the Sri Lankans did it even better.
