Dormy Inn Hakata Gion

The breakfast was delicious start to the day, the location was very convenient to two different train lines, the Onsen after a long day was the best and top it off with ice cream and nightly hotel employee?what more can you ask for?

Family Mart is Next door.

Everything is fantastic. The rooms, meals and midnight ramen.

Just note that they don't allow tattoos in the onsen. I was told the seals are ok over small tattoos, but I still feel like it wasn't well received.

Onsen was great for relaxing after long day of sightseeing. Great that we can monitor the availability of laundry machines and crowds at the facilities via the TV. Beds were very comfortable. Location is walking distance to many recommended dining establishments.

Rooms were a little small if you have lots of luggage. In-room shower is very tiny.

Onsen was super busy. It was pricey.

The breakfast is consistently excellent. We always enjoy the onsen. The location is very convenient, close to the station and Old Hakata part of town. We were also able to walk easily to the Kokusei center for sumo.

The Dormy Inn hotel chain is consistently good. This was the 3rd or 4th Dormy Inn we have stayed at and we keep choosing it because of the value. We get a double room and it is very compact but the layout makes the best use of the very limited space. Perfect for two people who don't spend a lot of time in the room. Shower (no tub) is great and A/C worked well. No daily cleaning service but you can deposit your trash/dirty towels outside and get new towels daily. Breakfast offers a great variety surely to have something for everyone and the restaurant has an interesting street view. The hot springs bath are wonderfully soothing. Businessmen often use the hotel so the men's bath was often more busy that the women's. Free ice cream after your bath, free late night ramen - generous amenities and also friendly staff. Washers/dryers were convenient so you don't have to pack so much. Location is PERFECT. Many places within walking distance and bus stop and subway/train access so close. Family Mart next door. (p.s. Boulange Bakery nearby is YUM!!)

Of course a larger room would be nice but the size was enough for us and reasonable for the price. Great value considering everything else that was included.

Perfect location as one stop from main Fukuoka Station. Lots of restaurants close by and walking distance of Ramen Academy and shopping arcade. The staff here were incredibly friendly/helpful and their English speaking abilities made communication Their public bath like all Dormy Inns was really nice with multiple pools and excellent mineral content of the water.

Bed was like sleeping on cement.

This hotel has an excellent location—close to the train station and major tourist attractions. There are restaurants nearby, and there's even a convenience store inside the hotel. It's not too crowded or chaotic. The staff are very helpful and accommodating, and they speak English well. The onsen is a great way to unwind after a day of travel, even though it can get a bit crowded. They also offer small snacks after the onsen. I’d love to stay here again.

The location was great and we had our first onsen experience here. The breakfast was nutritious and filling.

The rooms were very tiny and the bathroom miniscule but we used the onsen shower.

Room size was acceptable. Pajama set and nice pairs of hotel slippers were provided. The onsen was very spacious with both indoor and outdoor bath, a sauna and a cold pool. We liked the free probiotic drink in the mornings until 10am and the free ice cream during the afternoon / evening. The massage chairs and drinks on the club floors are nice too. Overall good value for money. I will check this property first when booking my next trip.

The pillow provided was hard and flat.

The hotel is within walking distance to the Gion train station, the yatai food stalls and excellent restaurants. Vibrant night life, if you like to eat and drink. The breakfast buffet has a variety of Japanese food and little American cuisine. The reason we booked this hotel is for the Onsen. It’s clean and has both hot and cold water pools. They also offer a massage service although I didn’t try it. If you book the Club, there is a refreshment station and free massage chair. The free ramen in the evening is a nice feature as well.

The size of the room. For two people, the room was very small at 150 sf. There was a small closet with a few hangers. Luckily we were only traveling with carry-on luggage, otherwise the room would have been very small for two adults.

The hot spring is the main advantage and the free complimentary like the ice cream and the late ramen are the best too. The location is perfect for traveling by walking and no need for public transportation to Hakata station or Canal city. The room is big enough for opening suitcase and activity, also the lounge that provided at the 10 floor is nice for some drinks. As I stayed for 2 night without cleaning services, the fresh towels are provided by bag at the door. The best part is also the convenience store at beside the lobby that we can enter easily.

The massage chair at the 10 floor lounges is broken on some parts. It will be good for the explanation on how to use the public bath is written/shown bigger so other guest may wash before entering the public bath.

The location is very convenient, whether walking or taking the train from Hakata. The front desk staff are professional, communicate well in English, and are very helpful. There is an onsen that helps with relaxation—although it's small and can get crowded, it’s all about timing. The breakfast is good, though not as varied as what I experienced in Otaru. Most importantly, the hotel is very close to many tourist attractions within walking distance, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. There’s even a Family Mart right next to the hotel. Highly recommended!

Great food quality and choices at breakfast

However the fried eggs are not fry-to-order. They are not soft and fresh enough. Also the noodle at 9:30pm was used to be my highlight of the stay but this time the soup base was too salty and not hot enough ?

Clean. Good onsen. Similar good standard and facilities in other Dormy Inn hotels that we had stayed several times in the past.

I like the breakfast, bath and everything. It was a very comfortable stay!

A bit expensive but worth it!

Much appreicated for the free coffee offer in lobby. Direct access to convenient store is good.

There is no room make up if you choose to stay for a few days. It should be considered to resume room make-up for those guest stay for 3 nights or longer in order to maintain better service for guests.
