APA Hotel Hakata Ekimae 2 Chome

Location was great. Amenities and Staff were great. Single Queen bed was was Great and comfortable. Recommend for single usage and 1 suitcase

Single Queen bed filled the room and limited maneuverability within the room. Underbed luggage storage was ok but whenever you needed to get into luggage, space became an issue.

There’s only one elevator and sometimes it gets full during peak hours.The check in is strange. When you book it here at Booking.com you have to specify each guest information and upon arriving in the hotel you also have to type all the information again. Why they just don’t use the same information which BTW appear in the check in machine?

Very comfortable bed, modern facilities in room (HDMI-in near the bed was very useful), space below bed for the suitcase is a great idea.

Staff was very accommodating for the many luggage that my party requested for luggage transfer. Beds were very comfortable.

Conveniently located near the train station. Nearby had convenience stores and restaurants to grab a quick drink or meal. Great for couples or solo travellers.

It is very clean, staffs are super helpful, but rooms are narrow as expected.

Location is excellent, very close to the main Hakata station. Was very clean and tidy hotel, bed was really comfortable, room was nice and quiet.

Breakfast was okay, just it needs more options. Particularly for drinks, I like a bit of juice in the morning but none here, I had to get some from a shop - fortunately there is a 7/11 almost right next door. Room was a bit small but fine for one person, and that seems to be pretty standard in Japan. Shower wasn't high enough, I had to crouch to fit under it (186cm)

Nice clean rooms. Friendly staff. Close to Hakata station. There are 2 bottles of free water in the room which I appreciate. I stayed 2 nights and didn’t request room cleaning, and the staff hung a bag of fresh towels and amenities outside my door, a very nice touch. I like that the chair has wheels, easy to move around.

From Hakata station, I saw a APA hotel, so I walked to it, only to find that it wasn’t the APA hotel I booked, and my APA hotel was about 5 min walk away. Make sure you go to the right APA hotel! It was a little hard to find. The air conditioner is really weird. Even the lowest setting 16 degrees it’s really hot. I had to turn off the air conditioner and open the window.

Clean, affordable, convenient location, perfect for the 2 of us.

The location is really good, close to Hakata train and bus station. Many convenient store are close by. The room size is not bad for one person. I love the ice making machine.

The pillow are not the type I like. There is one elevator so you need to wait sometime. A little loud noise from the street outside at night.

OK to sleep and go

Bad weather, all trains were cancelled so had to get a room in Fukuoka, price was relatively expensive but it was Saturday.

It’s in a great location not far from the station.

The rooms are small and outdated. We didn’t have space for our luggage or bags. The walls were dirty in the room and there was mold in the AC vent. We ended up opening the window instead to get some fresh/cool air in the room.

Tiny room, cramped bathroom, and no window (claustrophobic).

Even better location than the APA at Ekimae 3 Chome !! Closer to the train station, and very helpful staff!

Good location near Hakata and Gion stations. Rooms were clean and efficient, bed was comfortable, and the staff was very helpful and they understood most English.

Rooms were extremely small, making it difficult to access one side of the bed. I thought the room rates were high considering the small room size.

The location was good and the rooms were very small (as expected) but were clean.

The staff were quite unhelpful bordering on rude in all dealings with them. They refused point blank to book a taxi early the following day despite my leaving in the early hours of the morning and even wanted to charge a fee for checking in just 15mins prior to their 3pm check in time.They insisted that I use their automated check-inmachine which was much slower and repeated failed to locate my booking.

1. The female reception staff, who manned the reception area in the afternoon and spoke decent English, was extremely kind, efficient, and customer service-oriented. We give her ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. A male reception staff, who manned the reception area in the evening, was pleasant and hospitable, too.2. The location of the hotel makes the train stations, restaurants, and convenience stores accessible.3. The coin laundry was convenient.

HOUSEKEEPING STAFF'S TOTAL LACK OF CONCERN FOR THE GUESTS AND THE POOR QUALITY OF THEIR WORK.1. INCREDIBLY DIRTY ROOM. The housekeeping staff has normalized sloppy work. They don't clean the room daily as a policy (EcoPlan), so as courtesy to the guests, one will expect that on those days that they actually clean the room, the room should be orderly, well-dusted, and satisfactorily tidy. But NO. Dust everywhere. Used coffee cups are still on the dresser after they "cleaned" the room. Didn't bother vacuuming the carpet as part of their "cleaning." The guest has severe dust allergy and she was sneezing in the room all throughout the stay. The hotel doesn't provide air purifiers in the rooms, so it was necessary for them to dust and sanitize the rooms well. The situation was so bad that one of the guests (person of advanced age) got ill and developed a cough due to inhaling the dust in the room. We had to wear masks IN the hotel room!2. Lack of initiative from the housekeeping staff to replace amenities that have been used up, like toilet paper and tissues. We had to go to the reception area to ask for them. 3. Went out of the room in the late afternoon, and the housekeeping staff were still "cleaning" the other rooms. The corridors were littered with trash and used beddings. Granted that it took them such a long time to "clean" each room, then you begin to wonder why the room's still dirty after they've "cleaned" it. The lack of omotenashi from the housekeeping staff is disturbing.To the management: Please take these comments constructively. There is plenty of room for improvement, so the hotel can provide better service to customers, and if the management is wondering where to start, we strongly suggest you begin with housekeeping.
