Hotel Monterey Fukuoka

Stellar experience, the cleanest hotel in the world.

Power sockets in the room are only Japanese/US type. But reception kindly provided me with an adapter.

Location was great. Within walking distance to Tenjin underground mall. Our room was spacious for a family of four.

Our toilet had a strong urine odour the entire time we were there. We stay in room 522. I would strongly recommend the hotel management look into this. Also, there was notice in our room that the hotel security was not very safe. This led us to having some anxiety leaving our luggage in the room.

the location is sooo good, near bus stop and subway, walk only 2 mins. many convenience store likes 7-11, familymart and lawson(cross the road). short walk to tenjin. good facilities likes ice maker and microwave.

Big room and great amenities. Close to subway and train stations.

The restaurant had limited menu for dinner but surrounding area had many restaurants to choose from so not a problem.

Friendly front desk staff. Convenient location of hotel.

Bigger shower head would have been better; softer pillows

The room is huge for family of 3 and very comfortable and there's a subway station in few steps from the hotel

The location, room size and comfort. It was clean and near subway and stores. Onsen could have had hotter water but sauna was very hot.

Onsen bath water could have been hotter.

The dryer onsite is very weak. 2 cycles and my clothes still weren't dried

Excellent location, access to bus, train, subway and most importantly to restaurants, supermarkets and shopping. Staff was excellent!!

Nice hotel in the city center. We had a spacious room with AC and very comfortable bed. Various breakfast options (Japanese and European). Good location, around 20 mins on foot to almost all places of interest.

Note: you are not allowed to use public sauna if you have tattoos.

Super close to metro station, walking distance to Tenjin, 7/11 downstairs. Will stay here again next time in Fukuoka!

The room is really big compared to japan hotel, the staff so friendly and their English so good, Room very clean.

Very good location n good facilities! The hot bath is very clean!

(1) Size - The room size was big & furniture arrangement was optimal - we could walk around the room comfortably even with 2 big & 2 small luggages fully opened up on the floor. The toilet was of optimal size for good comfort.(2) The staff could speak fluent English and were very welcoming. There was free coffee and water (hot/cold) available at 3rd floor reception area. There were a public bath & sauna and a repacking table + weighing scale on the same floor - very helpful for shopalcoholics!(3) Location - along the main street of Fukuoka yet not too noisy. There was a 7-11 about 20m on the left of the hotel. Easy access to highways (we drove) and main food/shopping areas of Fukuoka.

(1) The room carpets were dirty - the stickiness did not go away even when we requested for full room cleaning on our 1st night.(2) The shower pressure was too strong (it made the shower head angle unstable) and hot water inconsistent. This was irritating as we experienced winter weather during our trip there.(3) We need to pay for the garage parking (JPY1,500/night). Hope that it will be free for hotel guests.

Room are very spacious. Location was great with subway and bus stations right outside the hotel. Was able to extend 3 rooms for a late check out with a minimal charge. Bathrooms had disposable toothbrushes, hairbrushes, body scrubber.

Even though we travelled during the slow season, the hotel was very crowded with tour groups checking in and out constantly. We were especially looking forward to using the onsen in the hotel but it was packed at all hours. I can't imagine what it would be like during peak season.

The location of the hotel is excellent. There is a train station 5 mins from the hotel which brings you to the other attractions within Fukuoka City. Tenjin underground shopping mall is only 5 mins walk from the hotel and from there, you can easily go to the other departmental stores. The room was big and clean and the bathroom facilities were complete.
