    • Review:I recently stayed at Toyabali Resort and had a truly relaxing experience.Location:The resort is tucked away in a quiet area near Tulamben, perfect for anyone seeking peace and stunning ocean views. It’s just a short drive from the diving spots, which was very convenient for my trip.Room:My villa was spacious, beautifully decorated with Balinese style, and spotless. The bed was extremely comfortable, and I loved waking up to the sound of the ocean. The outdoor bathroom was a unique and memorable touch.Service:The staff were warm, attentive, and always ready to help. They arranged my diving trip, massage and yoga class, making everything stress-free.Facilities & Food:The pool overlooks the sea and is perfect for watching sunrise or sunset. The breakfast was fresh and delicious, with both Western and Indonesian options.Value:For the level of comfort, service, and location, I think the resort offers excellent value for money.

    Cons -

    • - Restaurant / Food: Food quality was very poor. The only tolerable dish was the chicken satay. There does not appear to be a dedicated chef; food seems to be prepared by general staff. I tried spaghetti, an omelet, and chicken curry, and all of them were bad. When I pointed out that the chicken curry was extremely watery and not close to how it should be, I asked to replace it with another dish. The staff attempted to charge me for the replacement, and when I politely asked to remove it from the bill, I received pushback and an unpleasant attitude from the manager. Considering this is one of the most expensive resorts in Tulamben, the food and service quality should be much higher. In the end, I ate most of my meals elsewhere in Tulamben.- Hot water: The hot water temperature is excessively high. It is very easy to burn yourself, even when just washing your hands, if you do not carefully mix in enough cold water.- Jacuzzi / water heating: The resort uses a small-capacity water boiler, which makes it impossible to fill the jacuzzi with warm water. The water runs out quickly, leaving the jacuzzi cold and not enjoyable to use. A tankless water heater would be a much better solution.- Water & sustainability: There is no water cooler available at the restaurant or reception. Instead, guests receive two plastic water bottles per day, which contributes to plastic waste. In Bali especially, it would be much better to offer water refill stations so guests can refill reusable bottles.- Communication & guest experience: For several days before my departure, I was the only guest at the resort, yet I felt largely ignored by the staff. The restaurant could close as early as 6 pm without any prior notice, even though it was usually open until 9 pm. Construction work also started on the path to the shore, making access more difficult, but no communication or warning was provided.
    • Room for Improvement:Wi-Fi could be a little faster, especially for those who need to work remotely. The entrance to the hotel is a bit hard to find, and I hope the last stretch of road leading to the property can be improved.
    • Mattresses are firm, like in most of the world, but may not be what US travelers are used to. Was not a problem for us though.

The rooms are very lovely, with fresh flowers placed around ever day so it always smells nice. The outdoor bathroom was great. The cool jacuzzi was great to relax in at the end of the day. The breakfast was amazing. My husband had the noodles almost every day and would make a trip back just for those. They kindly showed me how to make them before we left. This was the most relaxing trip we’ve had in years.

Mattresses are firm, like in most of the world, but may not be what US travelers are used to. Was not a problem for us though.

Beautiful ocean view from the dining area and pool. Pool water was perfectly warm. We enjoyed meeting other guests, and the food tasted great.

We think the food either sat out too long in the heat or local water was on the fruits/vegetables because we both got sick while at this place and we were asked to order dinner hours ahead of time so it could be prepared in advance. We should have ordered when we were ready to eat and just waited longer. Also the villa next to this place had extremely loud music banging away when we were trying to sleep a couple nights and neighbors on the other side were burning trash late at night causing us to have to turn off our AC and sweat it out for a bit which was very uncomfortable. We also didn't like the toilet being outside of the air conditioned area, as we were dealing with bugs in the middle of the night and were fully sweating before going back to bed.

Small, clean and looks like paradise. The staff are friendly and willing to help. The massages were great and a really nice dive centre just around the corner.

The bed was too hard for me, and the restaurant food wasn't that great. I would recommend they add a few local dishes to the menu to spice things up.

On the first night we arrived, we got there late and they kept the restaurant open in anticipation we would be hungry, already fantastic. The resort only has 6 bungalows so even though it could be full, it still feels quiet. They are very helpful to organise airport transfer, taxis, staff so friendly, menu in resort really great, we ate there most nights. Grounds very well kept. Owner was lovely and had a VERY cute puppy. Would absolutely return!

We were told we couldn’t make private jacuzzi warm, was too cold to use :( so we never did. Coffee wasn’t so great either, bit grainy

Perfect location for diving/snorkling and very nice grounds/facility. Meals surprisingly good. The staff was very accommocating and delightful.

The entry is ridiculous and difficult to find, especially at night. Very poor lane into the property, very limited parking, all narrow and unmproved/ The ONLY negative about this property!

Beautiful and large villa in a magnificent setting, Large room with an outdoor and private huge spa and shower. The beach almost at your front door. The large bed has a complete surrounding mosquito cover. Staff and Lady manager are very friendly and easy going. Our breakfast was included and with a good variety. Tip: try the omelette with bacon, delightful. Lunch or afternoon, try the banana pancakes. Dinner, our favorites, pasta Bolognese and a delicious cordon Bleu. Our main goal was diving, just around the corner was a Padi diving shop, nice bonus.

Beautiful setting and bungalow right next to the sea. Very serene and relaxing. Very comfortable bed and lovely semi-al fresco bathroom. Great pool and restaurant area and perfect location for diving as their partner dive shop (Aqua Dive Paradise) is a 2 min walk away and the Liberty wreck is literally on the doorstep. Staff were really friendly and attentive. As vegans, it can be challenging to find suitable food when travelling, but the resort catered wonderfully for us. They also arranged our airport pick up and drop off to Gili ferry and ensured we knew exactly where to go for our tickets and boat! Recommend getting up early to view the sunrise! And can’t forget the most adorable puppy - we miss Mia!!!Thanks for a wonderful 5 days! ♥️

The place is really well maintained and has a very nice pool. The location is great for snorkeling and scuba.

The beach is rocky and difficult to walk on

We loved the surroundings and the green, the views and the high level of service. The staff was very polite and service minded and the food was great and freshly prepared. Ibu Made and her staff are a great team!

There was nothing not to like!

Toyabali is right on the beach with an infinity pool. Acts as a fully contained resort and we did not even try to venture into the village. The food was adequate and probably the same as most places we ate in Bali. Full service, they arranged for snorkel stuff and for our ride to airport, and brought drinks to the pool. The mama san was nice,, but the rest of the staff was a little rude, especially after a long, long ride to get there. Walking distance to snorkel to the shipwreck. Highlight! The rooms are very clean and the outdoor shower and toilet were charmingly different!

The room would not cool down during the day even with the ac running.

An outstanding place on the island. We were looking for something away from the crowds in the south and we found it. The hotel is located on the shoreline, wonderful coral reef in front. Very intimate and pleasant place because the resort has only 6 bungalows. Easy to make friends with other guests. Staff wonderful and courteous. They will handle everything you ask. Massages, trips, drivers, diving, off-card dishes - you name it. I do not recommend listening to comments from people who complain that they came to the jungle and there are ants and bugs or that the beach is rocky. Yes Bali is a volcanic island and the beaches are naturally rocky. Local supermarket and ATM in walking distance. We are very happy we ended up in this place and will miss it.

Cut bungalows, helpful staff! Very nice ocean view!

    The breakfast.

Everything about it was wonderful. Beautiful grounds, rooms, veiw etc.The staff was kind, friendly and thoughtful. I would recommend this resort to anyone visiting Bali.

Literally the only thing I would change is to make the beds a bit softer. The were comfortable, but very firm.

Our second stay at Toyali Bali in Tulamben was even better than the first. We spent five nights enjoying exceptional service from start to finish. The food was a standout! Every meal—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—was fresh, flavorful, and a true highlight of our stay. The dinner cart offered a wide range of delicious options. The hospitality was top-notch. General Manager Ibu Made and her team made us feel welcome and cared for throughout our stay. Our private villa was cleaned daily during breakfast, making it feel like a perfect retreat—always spotless when we returned. For a peaceful escape with great food and excellent service, Toyali Bali is the ideal choice. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Beautiful bungalow with outdoor shower and a nice jacuzzi. Infinity pool directly near the beach. Great snorkeling place with a shipswreck in front of the hotel and lots of fish.

No sandy beach but (big) stones and a bit hard to get in and out of the water due to strong waves. But when you’re in the water the snorkeling is amazing.
