    Pros +

    • The town Abed is quiet and isolated compared to the more touristy parts of Bali.
    • It's flora
    • Some years ago the hotel was certainly phantastic. Unfortunately since Corona it seems they stopped with maintanance. Location is still phantastic, walk out the hotel, 5 meters into the sea and you are at the coral reed… awesome to snorkel there. We even saw dolphines out at sea and while snorkeling a sea turtle, also so many different fish!

    Cons -

    • Stained sheets. Woke up to green ants in our bed and all in our luggage.
    • $---/night is overpriced, even for a bungalow. A $---/night price would be more appropriate for this hotel's quality. Other stuff: The room was filled with mosquitoes. The breakfast was plain and unsatisfying.
    • Room not cool enough

Info in hotel said you can rent bikes „no, since corona bikes are broken and no repair“. The wood of the fence of the balcony was totally rotten, stairs made of wood repaired very poorly. Hotel understuffed but people there give their best and are super friendly.

We loved relaxing on the front porch, watching the sunsets and listening to the waves. The pool was perfect, the grounds were beautiful and the staff was very friendly!

You do need a car to get to most places but the hotelier connected us with a fantastic driver on our first day who we used for the remainder of our stay so it all worked out great.

    Nice location by the sea

Overrated when you look at the value for money. Small and dark room, dirty swimming pool.

Localisation is ok, close to diving centres and Amed centre in general, nice restaurants near. Scooter easy to rent, breakfast was good especially dragon bowl and juices :)

I didn’t like the room, it’s very dark and you can’t open front widows- they have no glass or mosquito net, just a hole in a wall. It wasn’t cleaned properly especially bathroom. I had spider webs in every corner, shower drain was full and never cleaned, as well as shower tiles. Can’t say it was clean room. At our first enter there was a lot od mosquitos in room, it took us a while to kill them all. It’s a wooden hut with a lot od holes, especially bathroom is open so mosquitos have easy way in. I wish barhroom „holes” had some mosquito net or even citronella scent somewhere to protect.

In front of the se. Good snorkel direct from the hotel. The hotel also have snorkel equipment and organize our snorkwl trip with a fisherman to lipah bay and japaneze ship. Good food with fresh ingrediwent and very clean. Bathroom with garfen inside.

    Cabin a little bit old.

Nice location on the beach. Lovely staff. Beautiful garden.

Rather isolated without a car because walking was dangerous.

    Short access to snorkling

Communication of the staff. I called to make sure the room wasn’t going to be close to the road. I had read bad reviews about the noise of the bungalows close to the road. They assure me I would’nt. And they gave me a bungalow at the back next to the road and told me it was my fault.l because I booked garden view. If I had know I would have booked another hotel but it was too late. Really expensive for a small ute. Also, it didn’t look like the photos at all. I kept emailing and asking for clarification but my request was just ignored by smiling staff. No manager came to try to understand. I felt trapped and it ruined my stay.

We just spent a week here and we loved it. Cosy beach hut style rooms with restaurant and pool right on the beach perfect location for snorkling and discovering the Amed area. Staff are super friendly like most people in Bali. If you're after 5 star luxury this might not be for you but if you want a great Bali experience the Santai is perfect. Very relaxed vibe and good value for money. Thank you.

The mosquito net didn't go all around the bed but it wasn't really an issue.

Stunning location. Beachfront villas were so pretty and loved the deck out front. We woke every day to a little tray of tea and coffee so thoughtful. Breakfast was also so good! Tfw dragonfruit bowl amazzzing! The staff we loved and made us feel so welcomed

Was hard to arrange a massage without a days notice and a ride into town as a complimentary service would have also been appreciated. Just up the hill round the corner and down the hill would be super helpful and avoid long sweaty walks.

I loved the bungalow style accommodation and the beautiful view from my balcony looking over the thatched roofs & palm trees through to the water. The staff were extremely friendly & helpful.

A little too far to walk into Amed Central which meant relying on local drivers to take you in from the hotel & back again. At $10 each way, costs start adding up. The hotel does offer 2 x courtesy trips into Amed daily but not back to hotel. If you have a motorcycle licence then hiring a scooter is another option. The onsite massages are also a little pricey.

    Clean, nice food, lovely staff.

    We liked our stay :)

Santai was perfectly situated by the beach with direct entry to the beach. The property was private and quiet and our bungalow was so scenic and beautiful. We used the pool everyday and the staff was so incredibly friendly and very accommodating. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend Santai to everyone!

    Nothing!

The pool area at this property is lovely, and looks out straight over the sea. From here you can snorkel the coral straight from the hotelEach morning fresh tea and coffee is brought to your room, which was a lovely touch. The food and drink here is pleasant, with a nice range of choice too.I’d happily stay here again

The shower in the room was not much more than a dribble. Also the electrics in the room were faulty, making scary noises as you touched the switches.

We liked the relaxed atmosphere near the beach staying in traditional Balinese accommodation. The staff were very friendly and attentive to our needs. Special suksma (thank you) to the manager, Mr. Karim, for spending time with his guests and very special suksma to Eni!!

Proximity to the beach, beautiful vista from the pool, snorkelling off the beach, rustic beach hut vibes, nice breakfast for a 3 star hotel, friendly staff.

Mosquito nets not large enough to cover bed.

I loved the quaint Balinese style and the location. Made and all the staff made us feel like family. Great breakfast and restaurant. Excellent location and easy to rent a motor bike from reception.
