    • In a nature preserve with wild monkeys, beautiful view from the beach, good access to Menjangan island for snorkeling
    • Staff is very friendly. Location is exceptional and I love the snorkeling
    • Villa was spacious, comfortable, cozy. Two restaurants, one right on the water. Snorkel right off the jetty. Monkeys were cheeky but entertaining, very kind and friendly staff. Always available for whatever you may need. Shuttle bus was always available and easy between locations.

    Cons -

    • Remote, isolated, beaches not good for swimming, room was 1.5 miles from beach.
    • The road is a bit bumpy
    • Nothing. Just be aware that the villas are not on a sandy beach. Rather scrubby, rocky, dry environment. It is in a national park, so natural area with monkeys to watch. Be aware there are two separate locations to stay. Monsoon lodge and villas. Shuttle bus .

Beach Villas are so beautiful and peaceful. Beware of the monkeys, lock all the doors. Then the nature gives you an unforgettable show with unexpected animals showing up and the sea always breathtaking surrounded by the mangrove. The hotel offers free shuttles to navigate through the park and the different facilities, very useful and convenient. The restaurant is great with home made jam and croissants to die for at breakfast.A jewel overall.

Perfect! Paradise! Service, staff, food, private dinner, spa, activity for child while parents relaxing at the spa, snorkelling, diving club recommendation.

    Nothing :-)

The grounds were beautiful and serene, staff were very friendly. Lots of cute monkeys running around!

The room was a little dark for me.Mosquitos :'(

This place is a little paradise! Definitely I will get there back if I’m in Bali. Good food, wonderful staff and SPA at the sea side. Wonderful welcome and goodbye cards

Long way from the airport to get there however it is worth when staying for a couple of days.Morning wake-up alarm can scare guests.

Was an oasis in the national park. Breakfasts were good. Great to be able to snorkel off the jetty whenever we felt like it. Also great to see so much wildlife. Rooms and service were lovely. Staff sorted everything we asked for promptly (bird watching your, national park tour, snorkelling…)

Catching the bus between accommodation and jetty/tower/restaurant got a bit annoying, however it was set up well with buses running constantly.

    10DewiPosted on: 4-15-2025

Everything was perfect! The staff, the activities available, the breakfast, even the experience of being greeted by monkeys when opening our doors ?

A great place to chillax. The room was nice and very comfortable, the beach restaurant was great, and everyone was nice and helpful. The The only reason for 9 out of 10 was the activity amenities, because I’m not good at chillaxing and like to be on the move. The snorkeling is poor (bad visibility, limited coral and fish compared to so many other places in Indonesia), the rented kayaks had no seats which makes them almost impossible to use), and there is a beach but going in the water is not recommended. There is a fitness course trail that was pleasant if you don’t mind working out in the heat and humidity. There is a bamboo tower (5 stories) offers great views. Don’t miss the pool table on the third floor (we didn’t know about it until the morning we were leaving). If you like birds and looking for other wildlife, a private tour is offered, although we didn’t know about our own tour with a Ranger from the national park.

The Menjangan is an amazing place to stay. Immersed in the national park - you get to the best of the jungle and beach. The staff are absolutely phenomenal and very kind. Their facilities are spotless. The wildlife is everywhere, and you take a bus between the beach and the main lobby which provides an amazing chance to see wildlife too. The monkeys are very clever so make sure to listen to the staff when they tell you to lock your doors! The resort is also near town, which is a great place to go and get local food. Highly recommend staying here.

Quietness, a nice break from the rest of busy Bali. Contact with nature and the animals. There’s less offering being in a resort in a less dense part of the island, one should take that into account.

We chose Menjanggan for its location and facilities. The room was spacious with good air conditioning and comfy beds. But the biggest plus for us as birders was the Bali Tower and the rainforest at our doorstep. We could start birding early to capture the morning activities from the ground and from the tower. The top level of the tower is above the canopy, so you can see everything from above. Inside the resort you can explore the forest on your own, freely which is not common in Bali. During our stay we had one birding day outside the resort at the salt pans with a local guy, Alit which was also great. We had a great experience and can fully recommend the place.

We really enjoyed our 3-nights stay at the Monsoon lodge. The room and bathroom are clean, uncluttered, very spacious and equipped with everything one needs. Bedding is very nice. The staff is lovely. The pool and the hot tub very enjoyable and so the sunbeds on the room's balcony. We moved mostly on food or by bicycle and really enjoyed the peace. Being low season, the lodge was particularly quiet, an extra bonus for us. The restaurants have a vegan menu which is not automatically brought to the table, so ask for it if you don't eat meat/fish. We snorkelled in Menjangan Island and were lucky with weather and currents, the reefs were free of plastic waste (not so the island's beach) and the fish diversity incredible. We would highly recommend this lodge and the activities they offer.

We had a wonderful stay at The Menjangan! The setting in the national park is incredible. We particularly loved the snorkelling - some of the best we’ve ever experienced. The massages at the mangrove spa were also wonderful. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Really loved the hotel’s sustainability efforts to cut down on plastic.

Overall our stay was really excellent - these are just minor points of feedback. ☺️It could be good to have some more mosquito mitigation in the restaurants. We had one dinner in the tower during a rainy spell and the mozzies were pretty intense. Repellent was provided and mostly kept them from biting, but some coils etc would be a good practice to avoid the swarming. A monkey opened the sliding doors to our room and came in and took food (bold as we were sitting <5m away). It turned out this was a common occurrence. On reflection it could have been helpful for the staff to let us know that you need to lock the doors from the outside, even when nearby. The hotel is spread across a few sites which is cool. The road between the sites is in pretty rough condition. We tried biking between the sites but it was a bit too rough to be enjoyable on the hotel bikes. No doubt it’s on the agenda, but repairing the road will make it a bit easier to get around independently. The food was all tasty and well cooked, but I’d probably say it was one notch down from excellent - nothing that blew you away.

Set in the Rainforest, it is incredibly peaceful. You can spend hours just looking out to sea or sitting in the Bali Tower tuning into nature. It is beautiful. The people who tend to visit care about the environment and are up for an adventure other than shopping for fakes and knock offs.

All great. Nice room, friendly staff, beautiful nature.

The property is big and the road not really well maintained so every trip to the beach restaurant is a bumpy one.

The wildlife was awesome. Loved the birdwatching. Spectacular avian life. Menjangan were beautiful. Very unique experience. Staff were very friendly, attentive and sincere.

Bugs were everywhere. Flies at the swimming pool at the Monsoon Lodge. Local food wasn’t as great as western cuisine, surprisingly.

Location is fantastic, staff are great

They could have been clearer about the size of the hotel. We stayed in a beach villa which meant we could walk to the restaurant for dinner, our friends stayed in another section of the resort had to catch the shuttle bus,
