About
Hidden deep within the jungle valleys north of Ubud, overlooking the Ayung River and the ancient Dalem Segara Temple, Hanging Gardens of Bali is one of Bali’s most iconic luxury retreats — a private pool villa resort where nature, privacy, and design exist in rare harmony. Each private villa is suspended above the rainforest canopy and features its own private infinity pool, spacious living areas, handcrafted interiors, and panoramic jungle views. Floor-to-ceiling windows and open-air spaces allow the surrounding landscape to flow naturally into every stay. At the heart of the resort lies its legendary cascading infinity pool, named “The World’s Best Swimming Pool” by Travel + Leisure 2026, recognized by Forbes Travel Guide, and featured in National Geographic Traveler’s Island Collection 2026. Dining at Three Elements Restaurant celebrates authentic Indonesian flavors alongside international cuisine, complemented by a carefully curated wine collection and the warm spirit of Balinese hospitality. The Spa Collection offers restorative riverside spa rituals beside the Ayung River, where the sound of rushing water and the serenity of the tropical rainforest create a true sense of luxury escape. Guests may also enjoy guided jungle walks, cultural experiences, hidden waterfalls, and curated excursions that reveal the authentic spirit of Ubud and Bali. The resort features 40 private pool villas and exclusive residences, designed with understated luxury, complete privacy, and timeless tranquility in mind.

- Beautiful location and property.
- Very clean , amazing breakfast , great service
- The staff was truly great and welcoming, the location is wonderful and the activities (concerts, shows, dances) very nice too.
Cons -
- The cost of services in the hotel was excessive considering the quality of services. The restaurant was disappointing.
- To much noise at night: lift is used for both clients and staff and makes noise The service is great but luxury is providing an excellent service without being too present just the necessary. We felt that sometimes the team was too present for us.
- since the weather was humid the air conditioning was not the working properly

The atmosphere was great in the middle of jungle, the Calmness, and all the staff was great friendly and helpful.
From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed and well taken care of.A special thank you to all the staff members—your kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail truly made a difference. Whether it was at the reception, housekeeping, or the restaurant, every team member went above and beyond to ensure guests had a comfortable and enjoyable experience.I hope to return in the future, and I will gladly recommend your hotel to friends and family. With gratitude
We liked that service: from the beginning to the end. The hotel: rooms with their own swimming pool, space, the features, the location, free yoga class and free tea time.

Absolutely stunning! This resort exceeded all my expectations. The staff was warm and welcoming, and the hospitality was top-notch. The food was delicious, the pool was perfect, and the yoga sessions were rejuvenating. I highly recommend this place for newlyweds looking for a memorable honeymoon.
Our stay at the Hanging Gardens of Bali was a memorable experience for me, my wife, and our 10-year-old son. The resort is set in the jungle of Ubud and offers amazing views of the Ayung River and surrounding rainforest. The infinity pool is the main highlight. Positioned on a hillside, it provides stunning views of the jungle. We spent hours swimming and enjoying the view, and our son had a great time too.Our villa also had its own private swimming pool, which had equally stunning views. It was a perfect place to relax in complete privacy.A big thank you to Yudiana and Wita for their excellent service. Yudiana made sure we were well taken care of throughout our stay, and Wita at the restaurant provided great service during our meals. What really stood out was how all the staff were incredibly polite and worked hard to make our experience special. From the moment we arrived, everyone made an effort to remember our names and take a personal interest in getting to know us. This thoughtful touch made us feel truly welcomed and valued throughout our stay. The staff were always friendly and attentive, ensuring that every part of our stay went smoothly. We also enjoyed the food at the resort’s restaurant, which had a mix of Balinese and international dishes. The natural surroundings of the resort provided a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. It was the perfect place for our family to unwind and enjoy nature. If you're visiting Bali, I highly recommend the Hanging Gardens for an unforgettable experience.
Phenomenal hotel. The location was perfect, and the staff were so attentive and friendly. The grounds of the hotel are amazing and we didn’t even want to leave. Would definitely advise to plan a day to just stay in the resort to enjoy all the pools and the views because it is stunning and well worth it. The breakfast and dinner were amazing and overall was an incredible hotel.
The nature is amazing, stuff is very helpful
There is a lot of bugs and it is normal because you are in the middle of jungle. However chaning the room took a lot of time
I'm so glad I picked the Hanging Gardens of Bali for our stay in Ubud. It was the perfect retreat in the middle of the mountain jungle. I can't find the words to describe the overwhelming peace I felt while staying in this place. The staff is hospitable, nice, and communicates very well.We were able to plan our car rentals and they gave us a few valuable recommendations. Our villa had a fantastic view, especially from the pool. We even got to witness monkeys fighting on the trees from our room. The breakfast was amazing, but the rest of the day's menu could use more options.
I was disappointed by the lack of a bidet in the villa, especially in a Southeast Asian country where they're normal. We found them in the reception's toilets but not in our villa.
The heated pool , the exceptional service, the excellent location
What was sad as well that the manager at first offered us a free massage to solve this problem, however, I told him I need the problem solved, not just a massage. He said ok. then few days later he said we are inviting you to dinner. Then I was not able to make dinner as I was already having dinner plans outside the hotel. At checkout, the least I expected was a discount of 10% on the bill after all this. They basically only discounted me 20% of whatever we spent at the hotel (which totalled around 150$) of a 5000$+ hotel stay. Overall, not good value for money, do not stay at this hotel as there are definitely better hotels with better facilities for this price.
The thing with this property is they charge you around 800-1000$ per night. Usually, when someone pays this amount per night, they expect the best level of service, comfort, facilities, cleanliness, and cooperation from staff. We also understand that this hotel is in the middle of greenery, and it is expected to find some insects here and there. But what we experienced was unacceptable. The number of insects inside the room, whether worms, ants, spiders, was unacceptable. It is as if the room has been abandoned for many months. My best friend was staying in a hotel nearby (Ritz Mandappa), and I asked him whether they were facing an insect issue, he said in the resort, yes, but in the room, never. So, I approached the front desk about this issue and the management, and they were deeply apologetic, and asked me to wait till the next day when the manager arrives to the hotel as the time i complained, there was no manager to deal with this situation (which is even worse for a hotel that is charging me 1000$ per night). The next day, the manager came over to where I was having breakfast to discuss the issue. After raising all my concerns, he asked me to move to another room. I said does moving guarantee to solve the problem? He said no, but I can put towels all around the room doors to reduce insects entering the room. I asked to leave the hotel early and check out earlier if the problem is not solved, however, he refused my request and said he cannot refund me any money, as his response was that we are in the middle of the jungle. I said to him, ants in the room on my food is not a "a middle of the jungle" issue, it is a room issue that is not properly treated for insects. He agreed with me on this statement, but still refused my request to leave earlier. The floors are slippery in the room as well due to them being old. HOTEL STAFF IS VERY FRIENDLY THOUGH! NOT GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY IN MY OPINION.
The breakfast was awesome, served beautifully. Pool also was superb but since it had rained and it was cold we didnt use it. The Family Villa we booked was great for our family of 3, with 2 bathrooms.
Everything was perfect.
Hotel gets in touch with you in order to arrange a transfer (upon a fee), room preparation & welcoming. As you enter the hotel it feels like you’re in a oasis. The jungle and the view is amazing. The staff is very respectful and helpfull! There’s a shuttle service going to center & back 3 times a day.The hotel is a bit far from center but that’s what makes it unique. The breakfast selection is Good. The Spa treatments are fantastic there are different options to choose from. The mani pool area is also beautiful. Our room was gorgeous very comfortable, swimming at the rooms pool with breath taking view was fantastic! Every detail was thought from sarongs to mosquito repellants. My wife enjoyed daily baked cookies left at our room. It’s a beautiful hotel to Relax & unwind. I recommend it 100%!
- nice and cozy villa with private pool, overlooking the jungle- amazing, kind and professional staff- pool area is super, super nice- as it is a boutique hotel, it feels more intimate, and we loved it- massage was simply wow- restaurant was great- we loved the rides with the cable car / funicular- probably the best hotel we visited during our trip in Bali- complementary ride to airport
- everything was amazing

Everything... pool was out of this world views were breath taking staff couldn't have been better very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Great knowledge of gluten free food and every touch was personalised to our needs and preferences. Breakfast was the best I've had in the world. Extensive choices and superb quality. The room was out standing! Whole stay incredible!!
Magical place with beautiful accomodation facilities, beautiful horticulture, beautiful view from both private and main pool, very clean. We really enjoyed our stay.
Massages in the Spa are very expensive, significanty more than in other 5* resorts in Bali we stayed at.
