    • The Villa Borech is a beautiful place — the building, gardens, and overall architecture are very nice, well-kept, and culturally sensitive to the area and local customs while still feeling welcoming and comfortable for visitors from anywhere.Getting there can be a bit challenging since it’s quite far from Denpasar Airport and the surrounding areas outside the villa aren’t really suitable for walks — having a good local driver is essential. I was lucky to have the best driver and guide, Ari, who took me to amazing sites and temples and shared so much interesting information about Indonesian customs, religion, and traditions. For anyone who truly has a passion for Indonesian culture, this is a wonderful base if you have transportation. The food at the villa was excellent — fresh local produce, fruits, and spices, with delicious flavors and options that are clean and friendly for healthy and organic eating. The team at the villa was super kind, attentive, and a pleasure to be around. The Indonesian massages, facial, and hair treatments were absolutely superb!Overall, I’d highly recommend The Villa Borech to travelers looking for a beautiful, authentic Bali experience — just make sure you have a good local driver to help you make the most of it.
    • the ambiance is great it bought me back to my caribbean culture the staff is great and the breakfast was lovely
    • the place is right on the beach, it is quiet, they have yoga mats in the room, and the food is good. BUT

    Cons -

    • Getting there can be a bit challenging since it’s quite far from Denpasar Airport and the surrounding areas outside the villa aren’t really suitable for walks —
    • no tv but I had my tablet and strong internet
    • for a 100 USD/night in a remote part of North Bali I expected way, way, more. (1) The room smelled of mould; (2) the beachfront is not walkable, nor can you really swim/snorkel there ; (3) no dedicated space was made available for doing yoga, besides the "deck" (where people were fishing) or the poolside, which is, well, poolside...; (4) there are two pools, but short and mostly shallow, so not possible to do any laps at all.

After weeks of traveling in bigger cities, this oasis on the black-sand coast of northern Bali was absolute perfection. The room we stayed in was an open-air bungalow and the fresh air and sounds of nature (while protected with mosquito netting) had me sleeping the best I have in months. Everyone we interacted with was warm, friendly, and welcoming. They took such exquisite care of us and our kids and made us feel like family. The food was delicious and varied enough that we never felt we were missing out by eating at the resort restaurant. We loved it so much we extended our stay from 5 nights to 9 and will absolutely try to make it back one day.

This place was the total package for us. What is there not to like?!

    9Valter L.Posted on: 10-3-2024

We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay, including the exceptional staff, the delectable cuisine, the relaxing massages, and even the delightful bird named Bela, who resides at the resort. This establishment stands out as the finest we have encountered in Bali thus far. If you seek a tranquil retreat, I highly recommend this resort.??

Nothing because this resort is amazing, with great accommodations and wonderful staff.

The staff and hotel were exceptional. They made our family feel very comfortable..Plus, we loved The Local hornbill bird.He was a welcome guest at our breakfast..

One of the best hotels in the world. Beautiful huge garden in Balinese style, cottages made only of natural materials, no plastic, no TVs, so there is no matrix noise, you can only hear the voices of nature. Everything at a very high level and a really low price. This resort is so good that I would like to keep it just for myself !PS. Getting to this place I guarantee that it will also be an adventure unforgettable for the rest of your life :))).

I really liked the grounds with lots of vegetation and the location, right on the beach and in a quiet zone.

Overall the hotel left us with a sensation of decadence. A bit run down. A good example of that was the beach bar with is multiple empty aquariums and closed. Regarding the rooms no privacy at all, you can ear your neighbours as if they were in the room with you. Same concern with the bathroom. No hot water at the end of the afternoon.

    8DonnaPosted on: 8-17-2024

The toucan & snorkelling. Also the staff, the tranquility, the physical beauty of the resort and coastal position.

The fact we could hear everything our neighbours said or did, very thin walls

Great balinese house, garden and close to the ocean, really exceptional.

    10P.d.heemskerkPosted on: 7-27-2024

The place is magical, The view on the ocean, the beautiful garden, the cabin where we slept but special the staff was really amazing. I can't say anything what disappointed us. By arrival we were received so friendly by the manager and during our stay we did 2 times a tour with Ari and it was amazing how he took us around and showed us the special places in the area. Thanks a lot Ari, we want to see more and next time you will be again our tourguide! Also our little daughter Hannah really love you! The massage by Satya we can also really recommend, she did a great job!

    10MelPosted on: 6-17-2024

We already miss you Bella bird, the most polite and calm hornbill. Thank you Putu, Ari, Putu, Dewi and gentlemen who caught and cooked us a little fish, and all the staff who engaged with us, many I didn't get names. The villa without walls was next level and very comfortable and joyful-tree-house-like for our 7 year old. The pools were divine. Food was authentic Balinese incorporating local variations and absolutely delicious. Greens are grown out back in a massive and serious self-sufficient veggie patch and aquaponic set up. Even there are goats. GOATS! As fellow organic veg growers we were impressed and this was the most beautiful place we have ever stayed, a total oasis. A hidden gem, off the beaten track that forces you to enjoy the resort and relax!

I loved the spa design, rather smart. Treatments were spot on. The white fish that follow you, added to the natural serenity and my absolute joy. The pillows (not too big and puffy) and mattresses were so comfy, just how we like it! Gardens and architecture an absolute pleasure to be amongst. Our overall score is 11 out of 10.

Sprawling, lush, forested grounds; varied and comfortable accommodation; gorgeous sea-front location; incredibly kind and welcoming staff. Food was healthy and fresh and delicious. They even took great care of me when I was unwell one day.

    Nothing, it was just beautiful!

    9JayPosted on: 1-7-2024

The resort feel of being one with nature. The spa services and the staff were very nice.

The air conditioning system was struggling at our villa.

    10EbrahimPosted on: 12-29-2023

Amazing experience. Typical of Bali. Ocean side with snorkelling. Great spa. Cooking class was brilliant. Breakfast and dinner was terrific. The villa absolutely met all our needs with a private pool and a private meditation/yoga area. So cool. However, the staff just make your stay incredible. WOW. Thank you Putu, Leah, Ari, Ajik and all the staff

We had booked a villa for the three of us (Beach Alang Alang). The garden and swimming pool were/are wonderful with beautiful plants and statues. We received a good welcome drink (green coconut) and a water kettle for making tea. There were mosquito nets on the beds. There were two bath rooms with hot showers which were fine. The breakfast was very good with (excellent) sourdough bread and home made jam, but it was somehow little - we did not take other meals; the restaurant staff was nice and before closing in the evening asked us if we would like to have dinner. Our driver also told us that he was offered a free coffee at the reception; nice gesture. The place seemed quite isolated - no shops and warungs close by. It did not disturb us as we had a car with driver. The history and culture of nearby village Julah is highly interesting - worth visiting.

We arrived in the late afternoon and had to pay immediately with an additional 3% bank charge. In very few other places in Bali did we have to pay these extra bank charges - and in all other cases we paid when we checked out. Instead of getting a tour of the compound we would have preferred to be taken straight to our accommodation - and have a little swim in the pool (I don't think one can swim in the sea there - but don't know). We would have definitely expected more upfront clarity on what the facilities in such a villa would be, especially with regard to 'number of rooms/beds with air condition'. In this villa we ended up getting one tiny air conditioned room with a very small double bed; - the third person had to sleep outside in the heat; she tried the first night upstairs (stairs without railing) but was 'eaten up' by mosquitos; it was also extremely hot - so she could not sleep. The next night she staid downstairs with a fan - but 'on the stage' next to the entrance - all on her own. In the course of all the discussions about our disappointment we were offered on the first evening to get a second air conditioned room, but against an additional charge; we did not want to pay even more. On the next day we were offered two double rooms with air condition without additional charge; - for one night we did not want to change. We had massive problems with mosquitos - except in the small air conditioned room. We were bitten all over on the verandah and everywhere else - in the pool and when walking around the garden; it was unbearable. The website should indicate this problem and should tell guests to bring very strong repellent.

Friendliness of stuff, beautiful area, quietness and pacification. Amazing massage, the best in Bali.

That was my fault I didn't pay attention there's no air conditioning. It's a bit too hot to stay for long periods of time without a/cAgain, if you are aware of this ahead of time and absolutely okay with that, you'll love the place 10+!

The breakfasts & food on the menu was great at Villa Boreh, including their homemade bread, which is good because the distance to anywhere else is a bit far! The staff were very kind and attentive and the grounds were lush and beautiful, with many statues and sacred areas, and very tall trees. The hornbill is a gorgeous friendly bird which moves around the resort freely.I had a spa treatment and it was excellent, well organised, and the spa room was the best I’ve been in- surrounded entirely by ponds and the sound was so relaxing. Our 2 room bungalow was split level with steep stairs, enormous beds, mosquito nets with fans. Very authentic traditional grass room and open air (but does have 2 types of curtains!) The 2 pools were lovely, with views overlooking the sea. Lots of places to sit during the day, and lovely atmosphere at night. There is a tiny gym on the grounds too, but there isn’t a fan in there.

The staff are doing really well here and nothing I didn’t like!
