    Pros +

    • My favorite hotel for beach access snorkeling in Bali. Been going there for over 20 years and will hopefully continue to stay there whenever in Bunutan (Amed).Very attentive and friendly staff, great food, beautiful grounds, lovely bungalows with nice outdoor bathrooms, and, as I already mentioned, a fantastic reef.Extra bonus for me (a biologist) is they provide water refilling stations (reduced plastic) and how the property accepts local wildlife (Luwak).
    • We loved the room, in stunning gardens. Comfortable beds, remarkable open concept bathroom. The pool was beautiful and we enjoyed our swim there. Breakfast was good and the restaurant offered good food. Snorkeling right in front of the hotel. Wish we had a sea view! Good wifi.
    • The location of the bungalow was - as booked- directly on the beach, just 20 meters. The very nice and clean swimming pool was just behind our bungalow. The garden is very well maintained. We had our meals mainly in the restaurant of the resort for the reason that the quality was really good, the service very friendly and the prices were matching quality, service and location. The breakfast was also of high quality, with a broad choice. I recommend the Nasi Jinggo. The beach was clean, the snorkling was good. The bungalow itself was comfortable, clean, quiet, everything you need. The best place we stayed in while on Bali.

    Cons -

    • Staying at this location has always been a bit of a splurge for me but, in the past, if I booked after September 15th the cost would be a bit lower. That was not the case this year. I paid $50 (US) more per night this trip than I did in past years, which is not something I will likely be able to do regularly.Additionally, the outdoor bathrooms that I love so much are not as private as they once were. There are now tall buildings across the street with windows that can see into parts of the bathroom (mainly the mirror at the sink in my case). Was even less privacy for 2 days of my stay with men doing work on the (across the street) villa roof!
    • The room wasn't as clean as it could have been, there was blood on the mosquito net and the fridge was filthy. The beach is tiny, there is no space to lay down. In the photos the beach looks bigger and shows sun beds, there are no sun beds but you come here for snorkling or fishing and the pool area is great so it doesn't matter. If staying for 4 nights the food gets very samey and is served with the same accompaniments each time. The breakfast was ok but very basic. It would have been good to have a drying rack for towels and swimwear on the porch.
    • I wish I'd had a longer stay....

Very well maintained pool and garden area. Property is right on the beach which is great. Staff was very smiley and nice. We went fishing and could bring in the fish to the kitchen and they cooked it for us for dinner which was amazing. Loved having a little porch with sunbeds and table and chairs.

I love CVV, this was my second stay here. I chose the villa closest the gate to the beach and was not disappointed. The resort itself is lovely and comfortable, beautifully kept gardens and spacious rooms. Perfect place for lounging about on the porch, in the ocean, or in the pool. Swings for the kids, good food, nice bar. The location is amazing (absolute beachfront with a view of Lombok) and the big bonus is the local fishing guys who have hereditary rights to use the beach and pull their tiny outrigger boats "jukung" up on the beach right outside the resort., and, they told me, in case of a cyclone, in the garden of the resort itself. They fish at dawn every day, and for a small fee will happily take you along to fish or to watch, and will also take you to fabulous coral reef snorkelling or diving spots by boat or "by swim" . They are all mostly family with each other, are exceptionally courteous and helpful, can speak a bunch of languages, and will keep you safe at sea. They care a lot about the environment and spend a lot of time cleaning up the endless tide of plastic rubbish that flows in on the tides after the rains. We caught fish most days, snorkelled for most of every day and got to kind of be included in local stuff in the gracious manner that all Balinese welcome their visitors. There is dive shop/school right next door and a restaurant on the beachfront of the resort. Easy place to hang out for a short or long stay, and a great place to be with family, friends or on your own. There is a Hindu temple on the beach right next door so some days you will hear and see ceremonies as they unfold.

    I wish I'd had a longer stay....

Right on the beach, snorkel from the sand! Lots of options for eating within walking distance. Very helpful staff, even a money changer within walking distance.

Older style as expected for this part of Bali. Fans in the room would be great so that we didn’t have to use the AC as much.

    9KatePosted on: 4-3-2025

Lovely staff, right on the beach - excellent for snorkelling. Good WiFi and aircon. Decent food in the restaurant too.

Lovely spacious room and bathroom. Gardens and pool were gorgeous. Staff super friendly. Restaurant food was awful though so we have up eating there. Wonderful snorkeling in front of the hotel but unfortunately nowhere to sit on the beach because of all the boats. Would also be nice if the hotel cleaned up the beach in front of it.... Lots of trash.

Right on the beach, with spacious rooms and plenty of space for kids to run around the garden. The family running the property was lovely and very welcoming, we stayed for 3 nights and they had us feel right at home. Thank you for a lovely stay !

The rooms may need a need a fresh up but that’s a detail :)

Breakfast was good,we had options the choose from and also buffet. Not too many but it is good enough. The staff are very kind and helpful. We would go back in the future if we will be in Amed.Swimming pool is nice and the garden is beautiful. We didnt get the chance to go for snorkeling because it was raining, but maybe next time.Beds are comfortable. Its open bathroom, but still fine.

Ala carte breakfast was taking too long for a pancake for my kid. Night before i got a banana rolled pancake and it was with hair rolled in for my last bite. The dessert and flavor by itself was really good but at the end the experience was not nice.

Genuine beachfront, snorkelling right at your door pretty much. Staff were lovely. Grounds were kept beautifully and the pool was great.

Too far from the main part of Amed. The boats are parked on the beach so there is nowhere on the beach to sit really. Once you’re finished swimming or snorkelling, you can’t really lounge around as there is no space. We stayed in the beachfront villas. Great spot but the men selling boat rides, snorkeling gear etc. are set up right at the front of the villas where you need to walk to get to the beach. It got to the point we would be checking if it was clear outside before leaving our villa as they are relentlessly pushing sales with you. We ended up hiring snorkel gear from them and that didn’t stop the pushing of all other available items each time we tried to leave our villas. They would even call to you if they saw you on your balcony. On our final day we had them at our door asking for the money as there had been confusion around the price stated originally and the price they demanded at the end. I told them I needed to go back to the room to get more money and whilst I was grabbing my purse I could hear them knocking at the door and when I can downstairs they had my teenage son out the front demanding money from him??!! The hotel itself is great but these sellers have guaranteed we will never return.

We stayed Coral Villas for three days. There was a lot that was really nice. The staff in the restaurant were really nice, the food was good and there was fine selection of breakfasts. The pool was also lovely. Good sun loungers and beautiful garden. The beach was right next door, and we also swam with the beautiful sea turtles. Unfortunately, there was quite a lot of plastic in the sea one day, which was sad and made us not want to snorkel there anymore.

We stayed in the front row, in a bungalow right by the restaurant. The bungalow was not very nice. A strange smell hung in every room and there was mold on the mosquito net. Further, the bedding was sticky and had a strange smell. The area around the fridge, some sort of bookcase was full of dust, dirt and mouse shit. On the whole, it was just nicer outside. AC was noisy

A house reef, a freshwater pool, super luxe villa in an Idyll c garden. Heaven.Sheer

Our villa was right on the beach front. Fishermen went out early morning and back in by 7am with their catch. Good snorkeling off the beach.

The location is amazing. We are in a bungalow directly in front of the beach. Phenomenal views, great restaurant, kids loved the swimming pool. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The steps to the second floor were a little steep. Fine for us but just need to be aware if you have any mobility difficulty. The aircon on the second floor also didn’t work very well. Ground floor was fine.

    8DoylePosted on: 12-7-2024

Gorgeous villas right on the beach. Can snorkel right out the front.

Our villa was directly opposite where the guys renting snorkel, boat trips, massages gathered so we were very exposed and felt we had to walk to the beach via the restaurant rather than step straight out on to the beach!

    8KathyPosted on: 11-2-2024

The off the beach snorkelling was great and the staff were attentive. Wonderful location. The food at the restaurant was fine. I liked the netting around the bed as mosquitos could get into the room. I would return as the location is excellent if you want to swim and snorkel all day. It is also very close to some warungs that serve yummy food.

An animal woke us at 4am each morning clambering on the roof. It sounded like it was in the room with us, but we checked several times and it wasn’t. The lack of power points was a bit annoying.

    9MargaretPosted on: 11-2-2024

Beautiful gardens. Beachside resort. Walking distance to cheap restaurants. We were able to dive in front of the resort and saw turtles, beautiful coral and a multitude of fish. Staff were very friendly and very welcoming. Enjoyed our stay we will be back.

    8JoPosted on: 9-24-2024

Beautiful setting on the beach, cute bungalows, lovely clean swimming pool. Loved the outdoor bathroom :)Some of the best snorkeling we have done, 40kms of coral reef just off the beach, amazing.

We had read a lot of reviews before we booked so knew that the rooms were not mosquito-proof (gaps around doors etc) so we were prepared for this but it is something that people should be aware of. One of our mosquito nets had a big rip in it but the mosquitos still didn't find their way in.

    8CaraPosted on: 9-23-2024

Coral View Villas is all about the location and the stunning well cared for gardens. The beach front Vila's are two bedrooms plus.twi outdoor spaces where we spent most of our time. The Coral reefs are just so stunning and if we returned, we wouldn't bother hiring a boat to go anywhere else, just walk into the reef every day and explore the pristine ocean.

I felt terribly sad to see a large fish in a small tank beside the kitchen. It couldn't even turn around. What a depressing life for that animal. There are fishermen directly outside the villa who could supply the restaurant with a daily catch, so this cruelty feels unnecessary. I would urge management to give this fish his freedom - this would make Coral View Villas a true paradise.
