Beijing Downtown Travelotel

Great location - in the center of the action with shopping and cultural sites walkable. Staff was WONDERFUL. The arrival front desk person was so helpful in checking me in. And the check out person literally helped run me down the street to catch my car. Just couldn’t have been a better place to stay on my first trip to Beijing.

Nothing! Though a note that car services often pick up at the ends of the long street so always allow time to meet the drivers.

This is honestly one of the best places my husband and I have ever stayed!The location is perfect - on a lively street full of restaurants, street food stalls, and souvenir shops. After sightseeing, we loved wandering around in the evenings, trying local food and picking up small gifts.Despite the busy area, the rooms are perfectly quiet. As soon as you step inside, it feels like entering a peaceful, calm world away from the city noise.But the staff made our stay truly unforgettable - so kind and helpful. Once, when our excursion pickup didn’t show up and we couldn’t book a taxi in time, they arranged one for us immediately. They also stored our luggage while we visited Xi’an and even moved it to our new room before we returned.Everything in the room was spotless, the temperature was perfect, and the beds were very comfortable.

People working there were extremely kind and helpful. Location is amazing!! Loved the food places near by and especially loved Chaos Chimney where we ate breakfast everyday.

Beijing Downtown Travelotel is a great place to stay, small, very friendly and a great location in the bustling hutongs. A bit of a walk from the Subway but they gave clear instructions. I was very pleased with my spacious private room both times I stayed.

Best choice ever: location full of life and at the same time quiet room and good sleep; big clean room with all amenities, comfy bed, complete bathroom with all the necessary needed and more. It was literally perfect experience to stay here. Location is so good. Room was so clean and comfortable. My stay was much better than I expected. If I visit Beijing again, I will simply book a room in this facility.Many thanks to hotel employees. They are doing a great job. The room is large, comfortable and very clean. It is a small hotel in one of the best hutongs in Beijing, when you leave you have all kinds of stalls. Happy area and excellently connected to the Nanluogoxian metro.

On a very lively street in an old Hutong but very quiet rooms. Lovely timber highlights in the room.

The room would have been perfect if there was a small fridge, but the hotel does sell cold drinks.

All the members of the staff were very kind and helpful and could speak some English, which was great :) The room was very clean and cozy, toiletries were provided. Air conditioning was easy to use. The bed was big and comfortable.There is a Japanese-style WC which was nice.The location is touristy but very lively and cute, and around 8 minutes away from the subway.

The hotel is recently renovated to a high standard and is one of the best options for a mid-range hotel in this location central to the heart of old Beijing. Note that, for most of the day, Nanluoguxiang is pedestrian-only, but taxis can access the hotel using the 'cross-hutongs' and Nanluoguxiang metro station is 500m to the south of the hotel (use Exit E, which has a lift).

There is no lift, but staff are happy to help with heavy luggage - as they are with any issue.

Best location you could think of for the hotel. We also booked the Great Wall with them (they offer transport to the jinshanling section), which was great!

Spacious room, air con, friendly and helpful staff. It was right in the heart of the hutongs, so very convenient for exploring.
