Happy Dragon Alley Hotel Beijing Tian AnMen Forbidden City

Excellent location , the employees are super nice and professional, the room is clean. We are very pleased staying in there.

We are a family from Medan, Indonesia. I chose this hotel because of its 10 rating. Upon our arrival, the staff, Zoey and Candice, welcomed us and helped us carry our luggage to our room. Breakfast and drinks were varied. My mother-in-law was feeling unwell, so they cooked porridge for her. The hotel was clean and quiet. There was a heater in the room and the hot water worked well. The bathroom was clean. Zoey gave me lots of directions from the MRT to several malls. I'm not fluent in English or Mandarin, but Zoey was very patient and tried to understand what I said?. The location is very close to the MRT and there are many food stalls and bakeries, there is also a 7-Eleven. From the hotel to the main road, it's only a short walk. Thank you to all the staff, we really enjoyed this trip.

Staff was really kind and accommodating. The area was great and central to everything. Breakfast was included and was always a well balanced meal.

The alleyway was difficult for taxi drivers to navigate, but it always worked out in the end. Amenities had to be asked for at front desk but it was also no problem. Sometimes you can hear other guests through the walls but it wasn’t an issue during the night.

We had a great stay at the hotel. All the staff were very helpful… I hope I haven't forgotten anyone's name: Candice, Zoey, Eric, Austin and Anthony, thank you very much! The property is located within a "hutong" where you can experience life in China. It's easily accessible by metro station, and the rooms are super clean.

The property does not have an elevator, but the staff will help with your luggage.

My stay here was amazing. First of all the rooms were clean and comfy. It was also in a convenient location close to train station and major points of interest. The Great Wall tour organized by the property was also exceptional and a highlight of my trip. But most of all, the staff here is incredible - I was here for my first night ever in China, and the staff (especially Candace!) made me feel comfortable and welcome. I can’t thank them enough, and I also appreciated that they all had great English.

The staff was the best part of the stay and is probably what will make your stay at this hotel memorable; they were very welcoming, chatty and helpful. From my short stay I got the perception that it was more like a small community rather than a typical hotel and if you’re staying for a longer time and you yourself are an outgoing character I’m sure after your stay at this hotel will come away with new friendships.

While the hotel is located in a quiet place and I did not have any issues with disturbing noises it was very easy to hear everything going on out in the corridor so the calmness somewhat depended on the other guests being quiet as well. I lived at the end of a hallway so it wasn’t an issue but it struck me as something which could have made my stay less pleasant.

I've never met a friendlier, more helpful staff, the staff was simply the best, they were always willing to help anyone, go the extra mile (for instance when we had to leave early for a tour sent they packed us breakfast), keep our luggage way past checkout time, and left us fruits to enjoy in our room after our first day. You won't get better treatment than these awesome people. The communication was also above par before, during and after our stay. The room was very clean and spacious, and the hot water was working fabulously and quickly. Wifi was excellent and breakfast was a set menu and ample enough to start the day, with asian fare and bread for those who prefer to eat sweet, unlimited coffee and juice and jam/butter. The location was very near the famous must attractions so it was easy to go anywhere. The hotel was also near restaurants, shopping streets, and a 711 just around the corner. Now I'm not surprised why this hotel gets rave reviews!

Property staff are very helpful and responsive to messages via whatsapp. Special shout out to Zoey, Sharon and Erik who were so helpfuland attentive to our daily whereabout, sending daily messages to ask about our trip etc.

The most good service that I have received in a hotel, they are very kind and respectful, one day before mi leaving they sent my a present to my room, it was lovely and very good detail. 100 % recommended

I had a fantastic stay here and especially want to highlight the staff, who were incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring from start to finish (also speaking perfect English). They constantly checked whether everything was okay, helped me book attractions, and shared great suggestions for nearby restaurants and cafés. The surprise card and fruit plate during my stay were a really thoughtful touch that made me feel very welcome. The location is also excellent: just a short walk to the metro, tucked away in a quiet alley that feels local and relaxed, yet only steps from a lively street full of places to eat, grab coffee, and easily reach some attractions on foot. I also really appreciated having coffee available 24 hours and a cozy bar offering a nice selection of local craft beers. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and well-sized, with a good bathroom that made it easy to relax after a long day out. Overall, the staff and their hospitality are what truly make this place special. Overall, I really recommend this place.

Firstly, the location inside the Hutongs was like being in a movie. We loved getting going for walks in the narrow streets. Secondly the staff were exceptional. They were so warm and welcoming, and it was so nice being greeted by name each name and big smiles by every single member of staff. Even the cleaners were lovely to us when they really didn't need to be. Thirdly the way the staff helped us plane our iternary and get a good feel for the area we were in was so helpful. We would of completely missed this amazing market near the drum tower if we weren't made aware of it. Truly next level hospital!

That we could stay longer!

The staff were really friendly, eager to help for anything you might need and they are very thoughtful. Gave us fruits on our last night and a souvenir of our stay. It was really touching. The metro was so close and made everything easy for us. The hotel also had coffee, breakfast, water and laundry for free. I highly recommend.

This Hotel is in the Hutong and it’s really incredible experience. Has excellent location next to the metro station, shops and restaurants are close too. European Breakfast with scrambled eggs and fruit, depends on season, unlimited tea and coffee. Comfortable mattresses and pillows for good night and good back ? All Stuff was friendly and kind. It was really great time to staying here! Will come again in next time in Beijing ?

Honestly, we only had one time where the AC had a bit of an odd smelling air for a bit.

I loved my little room with the wonderful white linens and comfy beds! This is hotel is immaculate and homey. As the young man at the front desk helped me with my luggage, I mentioned being hungry and the next thing I knew was him bringing a plate of fruit which really hit the spot after working and traveling all day from Xian on the Train! I also loved the breakfast. Actually the best scrambled eggs I have tasted since I came to China 1 1/2 years ago! The staff also helped me with taxis and other questions I had. All in all, being in the Hutongs was a unique and wonderful experience that I will repeat again, soon I hope!

As a digital nomad, I have stayed in countless accommodations and honestly there are very few with the sort of atmosphere that Happy Dragon has to offer. The staff members were genuinely so kind and friendly, the breakfast was pretty nice. The location was honestly fantastic.

The only possible thing I can say is that there was no elevator.
