Mercure Beijing Downtown Hotel

The hotel is within walking distance to subway line 7 and 14 and two bottles of complimentary water were provided every day.

English-speaking staff members were sparce. We had to ask every single day for housekeeping to bring us toilet paper, even though they had already taken care of our room. Dirty carpets. Pre-set hotel temps. No shuttle to airport.

The food (breakfast)

The location and entrance to the hotel lobby is kind of secluded and not friendly for pedestrians due to nearby construction. Our Didi ride driver missed the entrance to the hotel lobby due to unfamiliarity (no visible sign ahead for hotel guesses who has never stay there before). One would miss it especially at night

Breakfast options were great! Rooms were clean.

Front desk staff was not helpful or apologetic. We booked a junior suite but was given a standard room. Hotel did not help to fix the situation. Instead, they blamed it on our travel agent after we repeatedly asked for this to be fixed. We were too jetlagged to argue so we stayed in the room given. The poor service from the front desk staff tainted our experience with this hotel.

The laundry service for free! And new laundry machines with soap and softener for guests

Very hard to communicate as anyone was spoken ENGLISH! The shower was full of mosquitos for some reason and the room carpet is very old in a bad condition.

Great location that was very clean. Staff were great. 700Mt walk to subway and Mc Donalds/ shopping centre approx 800 Mts walk. area vey safe

The hotel refused to provide a bill. There was no response to my emails. My colleague was told that the hotel doesn't provide such documents.

Easy access with the keycard. Very nice with Washing machine and dryer.

Mattress a bit hard but that is personally . Only Chinese channels, only one Singapore channel for news( English). Wi-fi unable to log in with the room no. Have to use with a Chinese mobile no., so the room service help me to use with hers. Small swimming pool.

Nice lobby, nice rooms, very friendly and helpful staff. Good price for the location. High-tech toilets! Good beds and well equipped rooms with plenty of space.

One evening a very loud group of students were in the downstairs courtyard below the guest rooms and very noisy around midnight - I think the staff should have asked them to be quiet. To give the hotel credit, we called down to reception to complain about the noise and the noise soon stopped so I think they must have had a word. We stayed in two different rooms, in one room the toilet would flush itself every 20 minutes for some reason which could be annoying at nighttime.The carpet in the corridors is so thick and soft, my elderly mother had trouble rolling her suitcase to the room, so I had to help her with that. It's a nice carpet though :)Breakfast was cold, limited offer and repetitive day on day. If the breakfast was better this hotel stay would probably be 10/10.

The bed was very hard. Room service was there every day but didn’t clean the room. Poor room supply.

Cleanses Bed

beautiful hotel, perfect clean room, new and stylish furniture, bed and pillows are cozy. very nice staff. breakfast also was good, everyone can find something for himself. thank you.the hotel is about 10-15 mins walking from metro station, thats very convenient.my only wish is more tv channels in foreign languages or maybe music channels.

blanket was so wet. I didn’t used 3 nights. That blanket material is not comfortable, when use it, it will wet. please change it. I have never used like this blanket during my 100 times traveling.

Breakfasgt was good. Plenty of options. Location was wht we wanted. Near facilities and transport.

Shower blocked up. Got charged on check out because a towel from our room had some marks on it.

Old-fashioned sockets for electric items. I could not use my hair curler. I wanted to iron my clothes but the iron from the hotel didn't get enough power to get hot. I tried it at several different places in the hotel laundry and gym downstairs, but it didn't help

Everything was amazing with the hotel, relaxing, stress free and clean. The location was close to everything.

The lady failed to inform me of the deposit which was going to be taken from my card before doing so. Other then that it was ok. Great service!

Lovely and clean place to stay. Nice breakfast in the morning with lots to choose from.

The location is very convenient, very close to subway.

The pool was so cold. I tried to swim but can only last for 15 minutes.

The staff were fantastic

It’s a little far from the main stretch but that’s because we didn’t know Beijing well, breakfast was fantastic. The area was a little rough at night and the floor wasn’t hovered daily in our room.

Staff were friendly enough. Bath was big and deep. Large room.

The location is a bit out the way. I think it’s overpriced for the standard. Only some rooms have bath be sure to check.
