    Pros +

    • The real reason to stay at this hotel is the staff. I have been traveling for over 50 years, and I am now retired. This staff is, by far, the most accommodating, folks I have ever encountered. Lily is absolutely super helpful.
    • The location is really amazing and very close to the Temple of Heaven. It was very simple to travel around the city and a good quality room. Also, every morning the hotel staff will prepare a very good breakfast for you.
    • Value for money, convenience and friendly staff.

    Cons -

    • Rooms are somewhat dated
    • I think the bed is a bit hard.
    • The beds. Maybe as hard as the floor. I was wondering if my bed had a mattress or just a board.

    Locations and its clean

The location was good, near to the metro station and railway station! The staff was friendly and the room was very clean!

Elevator and lobby could be cleaner! Also sometimes the bathroom had an unpleasant smell of the drainage.

The room was spacious and spotless, with the reception area having a laid-back characterful vibe, fronting a tree-lined street. The room itself backed onto a leafy residential shared garden (belonging to the apartment complex next door) that provided a quiet green oasis almost all of the time, with big windows to soak in the serenity. The location is central, two kilometres to Tianenmen square and just a few hundred metres to The temple of Heaven, as well as many theatres, restaurants and shops. The price was cheap for Beijing and the staff were helpful and spoke English. Note that there is a shared fridge downstairs rather than bar fridges in the rooms, but this worked well.

Not much, especially for the price. Some of the shared areas were a little shabby and my son reported that his mattress was very hard. Also the toilet seat wasn't fixed to the bowl properly and tended to fall off. There can occasionally be a little noise from the shared green space next door (maintenance truck early in the morning and sometimes children making noise in the late afternoon) but it's ok.

Nothing about this property goodIt’s a very old building and facility

There was a construction going on lots of noise you cannot sleep

    9Thi P.Posted on: 6-13-2025

Everything was neat and clean. The toilet bowl was even sanitized. The hotel staffs were also nice and helpful! Besides, it is conveniently located near a subway station.

    Overall, I am satisfied!

The environment of the Beijing RJ Brown City Center Hotel is extremely good ? and importantly it close to the city subway ? and the HEAVENS of TEMPLE. Easy to get around Beijing City.

As for my stay at the hotel everything was good ?

Really nice that the receptionist could speak good English and she could help us booked some attractions, give us some recommendations and overall make our stay very lovely.

    8NinoPosted on: 3-31-2025

Even though the level of English proficiency was different among staff we could communicate without issues. They were super polite, friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, literally next to the Temple of Heaven and one of the main subway lines to the city centre

The aircon wasn't working but we solved that issue with the staff providing me a heater. And a very good one, too!

    8BrianPosted on: 3-26-2025

It is a 5 minute walk to the West Gate of The Temple of Heaven and also to the Tianqiao Metro Station on line 8. The bus stop is outside the metro station to town. There are some shops, hairdressers, laundry and massage on the main street after you exit from the hotel and turning right. Turn another right at the junction and walk about 15 minutes up to the end of the street there are two big supermarkets and eateries, Luckin coffee as well as fast food restaurants.

The facade is a little old and the interior isn’t very clean perhaps it’s under going a refurbishment on the upper floors. The shower area is curtained with a half inch curb to prevent the water running out to the toilet area from being splashed and wet. The window in the shower is covered by a curtain to prevent your shadow from being viewed from outside. Rubber slippers are both for room and shower. The shower is a fridge during winter because it’s not double glazed. We requested a portable heater to heat the shower if not goosebumps will rise after a shower and you’ll be lucky not to catch a chill. We had a family room and closet was just a stand with a telescopic bar across. The A/C is not very cold when the weather started to heat up and not warm enough to heat the room in the morning when the temperature dropped below freezing. We turned the A/C to 21C but it didn’t feel like 21C and 27C when it was freezing outside but still didn’t warm up the room. We had a balcony for our room and the cold creeps in. The heating from the A/C unit was turned off once the temperature outside reached a comfortable level according to the district regulations regardless if the nights were cold and uncomfortable. That’s what the hotel told us that the district rules were such so we just abided by it. On the whole our stay was satisfactory. Perhaps the hotel may have been working on a budget??

The check-in process was fast, without any problem, and in English, which I appreciated. The location of the hotel is great in terms of the subway station nearby, but also the temple of heaven. The room was quite big, at least for one person there was more than enough space.

    6LucyPosted on: 3-11-2025

staff is nice, and bed is comfy. The location is good, the room is ok clean.

The hotel (esp. the elevator and front desk) is not well maintained, making the hotel old and outdated. The hotel is very basic, no washer or breakfast option. pricy for a hotel with limited facilities.

Beautiful quiet area, lovely staff, cozy rooms, great price, close to everything, can get your clothes washed, ironed, folded and bought back to your room, nice restaurants close by.Overall lovely vibe.

Location is near the temple of heaven. Walkable to the metro. The building is a bit old but the facilities is adequate

    3JunyiPosted on: 2-7-2025

The location is perfect to experience the authentic old Beijing since 100 years ago. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

The shower water is both too cold and too thin for winter. It’s not usable; We found cockroaches in the room; there is not even a microwave, again very inconvenient during freezing winters.

    6MichellePosted on: 1-11-2025

    Close to train station

Not that easy to find, no hot water for 3 days

    8LiPosted on: 1-3-2025

    Near to subway, very convenient.

The room heater and the water heater function well. Room is clean and good for 3 pax to stay. Overall is good.

    7EvgeniaPosted on: 12-28-2024

Friendly staff and easy to find. Hotel is opposite the Tianqiao Arts Centre.

Room wasn't the most presentable. Wallpaper was peeling, cobwebs around corners and shower wasn't hot.
