    Cons -

    • I found free parking on Prospect Street, but I think having to pay for overnight parking might be a bother, if I had to do this.
    • Car parking was expensive.
    • Humming noise from plumbing intermittently very audible throughout the night ..appears to be coming from nearby but not in the room itself. This interrupted sleep.

Staff were lovely, great location with easy access to Box Hill Central.Loved the rooftop pool.

Could have done with some extra pool towels. No delph in the room, but even t-spoons for the provided tea and coffee which is unusual. I found some hairs on the floor of the bathroom behind the door.

    Parking could be cheaper

    Clean comfortable

Extra 25$ to park your car

Room was spacious with two double beds. Very comfortable sleep and quite neighborhood. Direct SkyBus from the airport and the train station in walking distance as well as a shopping mall with supermarket and delicious street food

Air condition system was noisy but feels like a malfunction which they will surely fix shortly.

Love the location and the proximity to transport, food and coffee! Loved how clean and well kept the room was. Loved the bed and quality linens. Loved the pool. Loved the spacious room and the complimentary tea and milk for a late night cup of tea.

Didn’t like the pillows or the curtains that didn’t quite close so the room was never in darkness. Don’t like that I booked on bookings.com so they wouldn’t give me Accor points. Didn’t like the barista being cranky because he was running late and there was a queue of people waiting. Didn’t love the crappy parking situation - paying $14 for 10 hour intervals because no onsite parking was available.

Very clean and very easy to get around.

The only downside to staying here are the tvs are old, they don’t have the option to watch Netflix or other apps and you can’t connect your phone

    8MichellePosted on: 1-14-2026

Great location, great restaurant - great pool and bbq areas.

The rooms are a little warm at night and only one pillow per person on the bed

    8RodinaPosted on: 1-14-2026

The place is really good ambience specially all the painting is really beautiful. The receptionist is kind and nice and always smiles. I can't remember her name she's working in the morning, small girl, and has short hair with eyeglasses. The swimming pool is quite good but the problem is no heating tub, especially if you want to swim around the afternoon it is really cold. My kids can't stay longer, to swimming pool , the room is nice good and shower room. Love the place easy to go market restaurant etc. and walking distance only.

I just noticed some is the cleanliness, The bed is dirty have stain one is i dont know if is blood or not, The side table lots of dust, the bin one no plastic replacement if you need to change the bin. oh, the pillow is really bad, too soft and uncomfortable to sleep we can't sleep properly because the pillow is not even, the blanket is too thin and if you want to move it you can see the dirty. The window you can't open if you want to feel the fresh air, the tv is good if you guys have youtube or netflix. At least everyone can watch, not the normal tv only. Also last for going to swimming pool area a bit confusing but yes we love staying.

This was our 8th time staying at the Chen as always staff were just lovely and couldn't be more helpful. Special thanks to Vincent I hope I remembered the young man's name correctly. He was so helpful it seemed everytime I popped up at reception he got a new errand to do. He had the patience of a saint. Look forward to coming back.

    Pool closes to early

This hotel is excellent and perfectly situated in a prime Box Hill location. Close by the hotel is a wide variety of Asian restaurants and cafes, yet the area remains remarkably quiet, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The rooms are kept in pristine condition with daily housekeeping. Overall, a wonderful stay.

    9AlexPosted on: 12-30-2025

Comfortable beds. Spacious room for family of 3. Good rain shower and handheld shower. Access to a nice rooftop swimming pool and BBQ areas. Check-in staff were friendly. Close to Box Hill Station and right next to the tram stop — good links to the CBD.

My kids loved the infinity pool on the 24th floor. I liked the beds and how they were set.

    9PennyPosted on: 12-26-2025

Modern, clean and quiet accommodation. Quick walk to Box Hill Central next door. We enjoyed the lovely artworks by Artist Mr Chen, throughout the building

The exit door to get out of this filthy hotel.

Seriously before you use a glass in your room wash off the lipstick and crap all over the cups and glass. This place is the dirtiest hotel you will ever stay. The lift smells off human excrement and the carpets are soaked in sticky dirt. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
