Perfect location, cleaness, kindness, view
Nothing much, maybe hard to park? The reception closes at 11pm
The room was clean, and it was useful to have a microwave. Also, we didn't use the stove. However, this would have been useful if you wanted to cook a meal. Especially with the Victoria Markets being very close to the hotel.
The bath towels were terrible. Very thin and old. Not up to the usual standard of a Mecure Hotel. Also, there did not seem to be breakfast available. The breakfast room looked like a storage area. There was no information in the room about breakfast.
Location was great. I didn't have breakfast in the hotel.
When it was booked I thought there was a restaurant. Not in operation
Location is superb.
Since there is kitchenette, the room smell was not as i expected. i had to get it cleaned again upon check-in.
Melbourne was awesome but the hotel was mediocre.
Just wasn’t worth it. Poorly designed. Badly lit. No good views from the window. The hallways were dark and drab.. It would have been an awesome dorm room for a 20 year old, but as a hotel stay for an adult, it just felt grey and sad.
Supportive receptionist.Good locationAcceptable furniture
Room soundproofing and smell-proofing are extremely poor. We borne every steps of upper room and smell of food from other rooms
The room was reasonable size have required facilities for a night stay. The location was great, close to restaurant, cafe and the market. The desk is functioning for a business trip with all power points close by.
We stayed 3 nights. Travelling for medical appointments. The reception person on the 1st & 2nd day was lovely and very accommodating for our needs. Location was exceptional. Security was good. Very clean. Good shower. Able to open a window for fresh air. I might stay again just for the location and the fact that it was clean if I had to but not much else was good.
Not up to Mercure standards. Very tired in maintenance. A/C did not work properly - it ran cold. No exhaust fan in bathroom. No restaurant anymore - it was closed. Kitchenette facilities sub standard (cutlery bent when used, no sharp knife, very few utensils and pots etc. The exhaust fan did not work which was a problem for cooking fumes. The family who lives on the same floor is very noisy with doors slamming and loud conversation till late at night. The man at reception on the last day was unapproachable, unaccommodating and quite rude when we had an issue with the smoke alarm & cooking facilities. A small amount of smoke from cooking a steak set the smoke alarm off as the exhaust fan did not work. I opened the window and went to advise reception when 2 people (who I assume work there but live on the same floor) burst into the room when I opened the door without saying who they were. They were very hostile and would not let me explain what had occurred and that I needed assistance with the exhaust fan. He just said that he would tell reception and stormed off. I then called reception who was also unapproachable and hostile and told me that I would likely receive a charge of $2000 for the trouble caused by me opening the door to the room - a comment I still dont understand. I explained that it was only a small amount of smoke, that the window was opened as the exhaust fan did not work. Only reasonable that if you have kitchenette, you should have sufficient working facilities and equipment and instructions on how to work equipment.
The staff, really nice
Needs a bit of paint, was too hot in the room
Neat to central Melbourne, and within the free tram Zone.
The hotel seems a little stuck in time.TV had p*rn for sale next to kids cartoons. The restaurant appears permanently closed due to Covid. Some furniture was broken in possibly dangerous ways.Fridge had lots of ice buildup.Definitely felt like a three star hotel rather than a four star
It's in a great location access to QVM and public transport right around the corner. The staff are also extremely nice and polite.
The rooms were a little worse for wear, just in need of some repair and a good deep clean. The noise from upstairs is extremely loud.
Good
No extra facilities such as a gym, swimming pool, or breakfast service
Location is amazing and cleaning staff very kind and nice. Always friendly and smiling
The state of the the room, the reception staff, they lacked customer service and they were far from friendly and accommodating
Good location for us attending an event close by. Great location the next morning to go to the Queen Victoria Market.Bathroom is small but the shower was great!
The lighting was quite dim. To put makeup on I had to sit by the window with the desk light on and even that wasn't really bright.
Good
Cleaning was not up to the mark, dust can be seen on bed side table n telephone. No complimentary water bottle on any day No milk provided for coffee
great location; very clean room; comfortable bed; neat little kitchenette; fantastic shower; efficient + polite staff
hotel street entrance is a bit of an odd design, outside seemed more like a service delivery/back of house vibe, but neat and clean inside though.tv reception/connection was sporadic.
