    Pros +

    • Location, friendly staff, awesome people staying in hostel.
    • Location is Ok
    • Location is good, and the bed is clean and comfy with a curtain. I'm in a room with over 10 bunk beds, two toilets, and two shower rooms. Surprisingly, it feels spacious and not cramped at all.

    Cons -

    • Housekeeping was not by everyday, our room got dirty due to lack of housekeeping. Bed sheets were not changed after a roommate left.
    • Many things. I stayed in one of the pods. It’s private, yea, but too hot. I went there in the Australian Summer, they should work to keep the room temperature low.The bathrooms were not clean, the shower area doesn’t give you comfort to change clothes, they put terrible hooks. There are no hair drier and no shapoos.
    • The shower rooms need more space, such as shelves for personal items. People should also refrain from leaving their belongings in there. Additionally, the staff should clean the facilities more carefully every day (you can tell some parts were never cleaned), but at least it's not terribly dirty.I found the receptionist to be unkind and impatient when I asked a simple question about my room code, which wasn’t working in my app. However, some staff members were friendly. Overall, the training or selection process for staff quality seems inconsistent.

The property was good and I really like it

the staff was rasict and impolite they didn't respect me they harassed me for things that not caused by me or i didnt cause with out proper communication they harassed me treated me like I was not good enough to be in their property

The staff were very friendly when I had issues with the app and online check in process.

Punching in a manual code each time to unlock the door was a bit tedious. It was hard to get my pod fully dark when sleeping.

great beds, great bathrooms, nice staff, cool common areas and events, excellent experience overall. rebooked for my future stay in melbourne

there are works atm being done but as long as you’re anticipating that it’s ok. didn’t disturb my stay at all though some amenities aren’t available

Clean, good location, very straightforward (check in, storage etc), 24/7 reception (really useful if you're arriving late from a flight)

Very busy hostel. AC in dorm was a bit warm

    3RebeccaPosted on: 12-19-2025

    Location

Aircon wasn’t working. It was like sleeping in a sauna with 9 other ppl in the dorm. Trash in corners of dorm room.

    - nice location - a lot of space in the room - bed comfortable - toilet and shower in the room

    - you have to pay just for luggage storing - the kitchen closed at 10pm, no access to your stuff - the weak of signs to locate the kitchen and the bar - bar entrance close to the front desk looks like a private access - work in progress in the building - pay for a towel - the system to open your door. You need Internet access, to go to the website, click on your door to unlock it, wait... Same for hostel entrance... - the trash garbage is little in the room, some housekeeper doesn't throw away the trashes around the basket, when its full - same housekeepers doesn't really wash the toilet

    Location, price, staff, kitchen.

WiFi, security code (new-bugs not ironed out)

Location, Staff, Price (which I suspect will increase, when renovations are complete) were all abov expectations. I have stayed here many times before & always felt welcome.

    Renovations

    8JonathanPosted on: 11-27-2025

    It near everything

The CR needs repair. The shower holder is broken, so you have to hold the shower head the entire time. The temperature control faucet is also loose, making it difficult to maintain steady warm water.

    clean, quiet and very comfortable

    3JuliaPosted on: 11-13-2025

    Location

There’s no kitchen or laundry because they’re renovating, but they don’t inform you of this before booking. So you either have to buy food from outside or try to cook eggs in the microwave. I wouldn’t recommend it for the price I paid. It seems like it could be a great hostel, but unfortunately, for me, it felt like a scam.

I liked how I didn’t need a physical key card. I liked how it was good value for money, adopting the capsule style of accommodation that’s good for any length of stay. I’m definitely returning next year.

I didn’t like the sliding cabinets below the bed, nor did I find the bed pillows comfortable, I took one from the couch outside the dorm to sleep on during my stay.

    6GiovannaPosted on: 11-7-2025

The bed was extremely comfy. Staff was friendly and helpful, sorting out issues straight away. Great location, close to heaps of shops and good cafes.

The room only had one toilet for 10 people, and there were no extra toilets on the floor except for a disabled one. The bathroom wasn't cleaned in 2 days and it got really gross.

    8Sun_twanPosted on: 10-30-2025

Love the comfortable environment and individual bathroom.

Limited facility (exp: hangers) in washroom, especially for female. There's no place to hang clothes. Towel is not provided free of charge, need to pay separately. The room allocated near to the kitchen, cooking fume/oil fumes came into the room. And it's VERY noisy during night and morning when many people eating in the kitchen. Everyone talked loudly.

Spacious bunks, curtain, charger in bunk and pouch for stuff. Small locker below bed. Very clean and spacious, nice common spaces on each floor and in the lobby area. Good location in Melbourne CBD. Check in is easy process through Goki app, can do online.

“Feels like home away from home” This is the best backpackers in the world! I’ve been lucky to travel for work and stayed in lots of hostels around the world, but this one hands down the best. Everyone here is so kind and genuine. But honestly, it’s all the staff running it who makes it special. They work so hard to help everyone with anything they need. They create such a safe and positive friendly vibe—it's the perfect place to stay in Melbourne no matter if you’re just traveling for fun or on a business trips. I couldn’t believe how good the beds were here—super comfortable, really private beds they are like individual sleeping pods they all have lights, power outlets, USB and USB-C outlets with blackout curtains so you can actually get a proper night’s sleep! The rooms are super stylish, spotless because of the again the truly incredible staff! and well-designed so you don’t feel cramped. The bathrooms are modern and super clean, and the kitchens are massive so you have lots of room to store all your food and has everything you need you need to cook up any delicious meal you like. It feels more like a boutique hotel than a backpackers. I live overseas but work a lot in Melbourne I always stay here. You will meet people and make friends with people from all over the world, Don't look anywhere else this is the place to stay.
