Location was good for the purpose of our trip. Rooms were very tired but clean. We were given a room change when requested as the AC didn’t work. The staff were friendly.
We requested a portacot for our 8 week old son expecting that, being a large hotel chain, it would be up to Australian safety standards. How wrong we were! We were provided a portacot that didn’t even have a mattress in it. Just a blanket and a sheet which made for an extremely lumpy sleeping surface. Considering there is a massive warning sticker warning to only use the portacot with the approved mattress, I am disguised that a large hotel chain has such little care that they would risk baby’s lives in order to, I assume, save a few bucks. I urge hotel management to have a look at the red nose safe sleeping guidelines and re-consider their priorities. When I raised my concerns with the staff, I was simply told “that’s just how housekeeping set it up.” Our AC was also broken. The room and shared areas of the hotel were very tired and in desperate need of an update.
We won't be back.
The bathroom taps don't work. Rust on the soap holder.Shower curtain! Really!!Air conditioner was very noisy!!The lift is very dirty.Sounds like it might break down. The room photos on their web site is nothing like we had. Also spoke to another guest and he said "not staying here again "Absolutely disgrace presenting a room to guest in these conditions. Very outdated and needs refurbished now!!!!
The room was clean and spacious. As it was 45C on the day of our stay I was thrilled to find the pool was clean and inviting. The bed was very comfortable. After we had checked out I realized I had left a bag in the room. The young man at reception was friendly and extremely helpful.
On entry the young lady at reception was efficient but not warm or welcoming. The bathroom was a bit shabby with areas of the wall having been partially repaired. The room was meant to have cable TV but all we had was free to air. We had dinner in the dining room which was a pretty standard area. My granddaughter had spaghetti bolognese which she loved however I had beef rendang and the meat was very dry and chewy though the rice was hot and fluffy. We arrived for breakfast at 8.15 and it was OK! The eggs(scrambled) were dry on top but quite runny in the middle, the hash browns were soggy and there was only 4 pieces of tomato but they were cooked well. The bacon was perfect for me.
Convenient locationSpaciousComfy bed
Elevator was old and tired
The staff were friendly enough
The hotel was completely rundown, dirty, smelly and in parts falling apart. There were mould in the bathroom and no fan. The window in the living area was broken so would not open. The room was dusty and dirty and the beds were extremely uncomfortable. The mattresses I'm assuming we're very old so were worn out. It stated this was a 4 star hotel but there is absolutely no way it is. It is a 2 star at best. Extremely disappointing and was a complete con. I would like to know who I make a formal complaint with as I'm completely dissatisfied with what we were charged for such a rundown hotel.
Nice staff, and they were really helpful in assisting my dad during his stay, as he did not speak English. wonderful view and a clean, modern room as well
Disappointing
Building is very run down. Carpets desperately need to be replaced, property isn't very clean, the lift was quite scary to ride. Staff weren't very friendly. Location is difficult for ubers to access.
Location suited for medical testing at RMH
For the price… low grade facilities. Bed very hard and lumpy. Receptionist very stand-offish. Room 104 was extremely loud with traffic noise very poor acoustics and some kind of device turning on and off and banging all night. Had no sleep and that’s why I left at 6 am.
Reception people were friendly, informative and efficient.
Lift was a little clunky.
Hotel is very tired. Shower heads, water taps old and need upgrading. For a Mercure Acor hotel it was extremely disappointing. Walls have cracks and carpet stains and falling apart.
The whole hotel.
The bed was comfy, staff at reception wonderful, and location was good. But I wouldn’t recommend or stay again.
The room was really hot overnight so sleep was terrible. AC would have made it more comfortable. I couldn’t even open the window for air as the bins outside were really smelly. The room also had horrible smell in the morning when the kitchen started cooking breakfast. The smell came through the vents. I had to leave extra early to get out of the room (it’s food I’m allergic to) The shower was also broken, and the head of the shower broke off and fell on me.
Maintenance in roomBroken bedside lampTaps in bathroom dripped unless tightened way too tight Curtains didn’t cover the window completely
The location was excellent for my reason for being in Melbourne and it had an onsite restaurant.
I feel the whole place needs to be done up, carpets are worn in places and the lift is very clunky. I would not rave about the food but my dinner was nice and well presented however the buffet breakfast was not the best I have seen.
great location easy to get around tram stops close
The lift
Affordable clean accommodation with quality bedding.
A bit dated.
Location. Walking distance to hospital.
Could do with a bit of an update. Bed wasn’t really comfortable. Air con being at lowest temp with full fan didn’t really cool the room.
good location
loud water pipes when others are showering loud aircon
