    Cons -

    • Some staff at front desk can’t understand English well.
    • Understanding that they are in the process of renovating the unfinished state of the room was disappointing. The bathroom is dated.
    • The rooms are not finished. No toilet roll holder, shower, shampoo and conditioner are on the floor in the shower. The air con is very old and noisy. No teaspoons. The rubbish around the grounds is disgusting. No breakfast facility. Overpriced for what you get.

The retro architecture, terrazzo stair treads, the balcony and staircase fencing/balistrade, the slate flooring on external walkways. Precious vintage elements. So gorgeous, if only The management gave a dam about guests, which they clearly do not. Beaituful outdoor setting and on a tram line.

Park Inn by Raddison Carlton is not in Carlton, btw! It’s in Parkville. False advertising.Without question the worst place I have ever stayed in Australia. It was like a budget flop-house somewhere in a lesser-developed part of Asia. My concerns are multiple:•When you phone the official number, there is a voicemail naming a different hotel brand.•The desk girl was not at all welcoming.•She seemed inconvenienced when I asked for a 2nd key card (there were 2 of us – both adults).•The foyer floor was filthy. Looked like it had not been mopped in weeks or even months.•The foyer bathroom had no toilet paper in one of the booths.•They advertised ‘Facilities for disabled guests’ which is not at all true.•The Elevator is not working.•Was told to take the stairs which are dilapidated, and unsafe for people with mobility issues.•Under the potentially beautiful stairs was a lot of unsightly stuff - made disgusting.•The doors to back of house opposite were open, and it looked ugly and had a smell.•The room was plain and unattractive, with a wall mounted old plastic tissue box as the only wall decoration.•The mirror on the wardrobe was cracked.•The bathroom was filthy, with many stains and water damaged laminate cabinet with the door half falling off. One light switch did not work. The grouting was uneven and dirty.•Chunky black spider in the curtains•No natural air or ventilation in the room, unless you leave the door wide open.•The air-con was extremely slow, and took about an hour to have any effect, and then not much.•The TV in our room was broken. A 2nd one was brought in … That did not work either. A 3rd TV was then brought in. It worked, but not every easily, and the colour was pale and insipid.•There were only 2 water tumblers – No wine glasses, or tall glasses.•No provision for ice, though the adjacent restaurant gave me two glasses full.•When you phone reception from the in-room phone there is a message bank, naming a prior h

Our 'first' room we turned the air con on, and then it broke and couldn't turn it off. The TV didn't work ie wouldn't even switch on. We asked the receptionist what we could, very rude, and said she was the only staff on the premises, and they don't have housekeeping or a handy man on site. We asked to be moved as the air con was on 17 degrees and we would have frozen. 2nd room, the rubbish bin was full of rubbish, and there was two dirty towels in the bath.

The location was ok, the bed was comfortable

There are holes in the walls, I found a bug in the bed, the lift was not in service for the entire time I was there. The staff was ok, but need more training. The pool was full of all sorts of bugs and things. There was a jug for coffee and some cups but no spoon. The draws next to the bed broken and the light on that side not working.

    Location was excellent

It’s falling to pieces. Elevator doesn’t work and lots of things are broken.

Cheap and good value for the location

The bathroom was dirty, the shower had not been cleaned in a long time.

    1AlanPosted on: 2-15-2026

    beds were comfortable

Elevator not working, have to use the poorly lit stair well. Difficult for my disabled wife to get to the room. Had to carry bags up four flights of stairs and also ensure my wife's safety . Television not working, no attempt by staff to fix this . Impossible to get wi-fi. in room for entire visit. Phone not working. Staff informed of this, nothing done. Room was not clean. Shower is extremely difficult to turn on, kind of dangerous showering in a small bath. Honestly, Booking.com and Radisson Hotels should be ashamed of supporting this venue.

It was old and a bit rough in the rooms but looks like they are slowly renovating. it all looks like it was nice 25 years ago but now unloved

It felt a bit neglected. The carpark arrows said to exit one way but it was a deadend

    8MikaylaPosted on: 2-15-2026

Enjoyed the quiet area with nice surroundings, ammenities were clean and bed was very comfortable

The shower pressure isn’t great but other than that everything was great

    5GlennPosted on: 2-15-2026

For the price point, the rooms and facilities are passable. We paid $160 per night for 2 nights, which is good value for the location, which is opposite Princes Park, tram on the hotel's doorstep, and a short stroll to great shops and cafes on bustling Sydney Road, Brunswick.

The room shower did not work (no hot water). The staff were very helpful when we told them, and they moved us to a new room, which we appreciated. Although everything worked, the rooms are a little tired and dated (cracks & scratches, missing handles, etc., although everything worked) however this is to be expected for just $160 per night, which is probably one of the cheapest hotels in Melbourne.

The location was amazing! The property however was very outdated, but it was somewhere to sleep with an alright bed so it was passable.

The bathroom definitely needs to be revamped. They have a bath/shower set up, to get the shower you have to pull really hard on this thing in the wall which was a bit of a struggle. The bath had lots of cracks in it which had been patched up, it just didn’t look very presentable. The elevator wasn’t in service while I stayed, looking at the room numbers on the wall was very confusing as you had to walk into a different building to find the actual room. Also, you can’t go past level 3 at the moment as it’s just a construction site, me and my friend found out the hard way while looking for our room, there wasn’t any signs to say that there was all building materials just left laying across the stairs

Good location, 7 tram stops to the QVMarket. 3 tram stops to Brunswick.

Air conditioning old dirty and noisy. Swimming pool water not really clean. Bedrooms and bathrooms need a refurbishment

    Location and the restaurant

Very noisy. No water in room. No room service. No breakfast or coffee available onsite. Room smelled like stale cigarettes

Staff were nice Comfortable bed. Clean

We specifically booked for accommodation with breakfast included. There was no breakfast available. Curtains were hanging off the rails

Very comfortable room and bed and clean

Not enough tea bags and sugar. Was dying for a cuppa after travelling 3 1/2hrs only to find 2 tea bags and 4 sugars. None left after that for when we got home from the function we attended and none for the morning And no face washers

    2StevenPosted on: 1-30-2026

The only good of this place was that the staff at front table were polite and it was close to the event we were attending

Where do i start. The room was dirty and covered in hair, the couch was stained and unsitable, the mattress was as comfy as laying on a slab of concrete, the aircon even set on the lowest setting left the room like a sauna. When you venture onto the balcony it was dirty there was paint smeared over the windows the ground and your constantly being monitored by people living in units. The water pressure in shower was shocking the bottles of soap/conditoner/shampoo was all crusty. When you ask for directions they reply with they have no idea where anything was, the cafe isn't opened at all. All in all in the future would rather drive further than stay again.

We liked the size of the room and the comfort of the bed. The location was great, easy for public transport. Staff was friendly too.

Our rooms were not cleaned for 2 days. When i asked, a cleaner was sent the next day at mid-afternoon, a very inconvenient time. We chose the hotel because it had a pool, when we checked in, we were told the pool was closed for the.duration of our stay. When i asked again the next day and let the front desk know that we were not happy that we paid for a facility that was unavailable , then we were told the pool was open. I asked for a discount when I extended our stay by another day, because we had our rooms not cleaned for 2 days, and that We booked 2 separated rooms, neither cleaned. The front desk told me, he was going to speak to the manager and get back to us. Then 2 days later we left and nothing was done, no courtesy message, no contact, nothing, total disregard. We won't return to this specific hotel.
