    Pros +

    • The location
    • Really nice place, there’s everything you need. We didn’t stay so many days so not sure if it’s comfortable living there for a while but everything was nice and for cheap price you have your own room (2 people)!
    • The location is great and that's about it, everything else is in quite the poor state.

    Cons -

    • The staff was unprofessional and unfriendly. Also no 24h reception and nobody answers the phone.
    • We had no issues with music because was 2nd floor, but maybe in weekends could be worst. Nothing else
    • There's rats in the kitchen, everything is dirty and sticky and smells terribly. We had to leave early because of how terrible the place was. There's also no stairs so we had to carry everything up 4 sets of stairs

    Location

No elevator, small room, not clean enough, no A/C, noise from bar downstairs, reception amd personnel not available

    6MurielPosted on: 1-15-2026

I was given a room in which tenants stayed for already several years, meaning only little space was left for me and the entire atmosphere was not welcoming. The stair cases are dirty/damaged, but it’s fine for the price

    Very poor

sorry for the night manager that seemed like a nice guy but when I arrived (in afternoon) I waited 30 minutes for somebody to open and check me in. the hostel was super dirty, hairs and dust everywhere. I saw more than a mouse in the common eating area. long stay people eating in the room and polluting air with the smell of their food. I don't recommend it

    Passable

Not clean at all, toilet smells, rooms smell, rooftop you cant smoke. Bad experience overall. Just cheap

A fairly central and affordable hostel…

Unfortunately, it is extremely dirty. Our floor was not cleaned before check-in, which is clear from the fact that there was a pen cap (we don't have any pens with us) and a lot of dust. The bathrooms are cold and dirty, the sinks are almost unusable, and the hot water takes ages to arrive. In our bathroom, the shower head wouldn’t stay in place and had to lean against the wall, making it practically unusable.A $50 bond is really excessive considering all of this. There is loud music until late at night, and you can clearly hear it from the kitchen.

Close to cbd and Victoria market

Noise bar next to the hostel. Prepare some earplugs

    6LeonardPosted on: 11-11-2025

All basic facilities working and mostly clean -kitchen, bathrooms, dining area. Value for the area and facilities

Definitely main con as stated in main description - noise at night from downstairs bar. Expect to stay up at night if you don't have noise canceling headphones, don't mind drum vibrations, or will be out all night anyway. Stayed from Friday - Monday, so not sure about other nights but sunday was the only quiet night, the others music playing til at least 6am

    Comfy mattress

Very dirty, not cleaned. Matted hair in the bathrooms/showers. No electricity in our room. Smell was like living in a takeaway restaurant and not the good kind. No sleep due to the bar downstairs closing at 6am and allowing patrons to be noisy outside. The list continues.

    I like the staff

I didn’t like all was very dirty (bedroom, kitchen, bathroom…). It was very uncomfortable

    2IsadoraPosted on: 6-23-2025

    Very poor

We booked a family room with a double bed, when we got at there they had changed our room without telling us. All other rooms were booked already (so they said) and we had to sleep in a bulk bed.

    It's okay to stay but...

Loud music Dirty room Too many stairs Hard to find the place and front entrance

The staff are super friendly and facilities are good. Nice experience in overall

It was okay on Thursday night, but I’m not sure if you can get a proper rest on Friday night. I'm usually not affected by surroundings while sleeping, but the noise from downstairs (I think there is a pub) woke me up in am 5:30.It feels unreal that you can hear super loud music and people laughing and cheering in that early morning.

The location is great, right next to the Victoria Market. And the staff is friendly.

Very dirty, rooms are nothing like on pictures. There was mold in the rooms, the hallways smell really bad. Extremly noisy through the whole night (noise from the kitchen, people in the hallway as well as the downstair pub). Also the beds are uncomfortable.

location was great and price was very good.

The first night we were there the metal bar downstairs was playing music until 6am and we were in the top floor and still the music was so loud the beds were vibrating. I would not stay here if you like sleep or are sensitive to sound when sleeping - that's on me though for not reading the other reviews thoroughly enough as this was pointed out. The other thing was staff were never at the front desk at the times that were advertised which was really annoying when you are waiting to get towels for morning showers etc...and when the guy did eventually get there he asked me to wait while he checked in some other guests to which I said no as I had already been waiting for 45 mins for him to staff the front desk.

Despite being cleaned for a hour before we were allowed in, the state of our room was nothing short of horrendous. The floors and sheets seemed to be the only thing that had been cleaned. The room stunk strongly of the lemon scented disinfectant used to wash the floor. The lockers, shelves and desk however were still covered with grime and we even found a few short hairs covering the shelves. The bed frames were covered in dust and the curtains seemed to be laced with mould. To make matters worse, a half eaten chocolate bar sat squished on the window sill, which was also covered in dust and the remanence of the chocolate. Now a small amount of dust is manageable but the general uncleanliness of the room was simply unacceptable. Never in my life have I had an issue such as this when staying at hostels. It got to the point where we went and bought disinfectant wipes of our own to try to make the best of the situation, but from what we did in 20 minutes made me seriously question how often and thoroughly these rooms are cleaned. This is a threat to a customer’s health and safety and breaches the health code. the shared kitchen was not well respected by other visitors as i could not find one clean utensil in the drawers, however the kitchen was quite large and the one shared eating space was acceptable.the shared toilets were generally clean although door nobs, light switches and other surfaces had obviously not been cleaned in a considerable amount of time. the shower rooms were roomy and the hot water and water pressure was pretty reliable although there was mold on the roof. there were enough amenities for the amount of visitors which was a relief i suppose. additionally, the entire upper floor smelled of marijuana.would not recommend.

The only good thing about this hostel is it's location.

Shower room is definitely a mess, the lights suddenly go off, the space is minimum and lot more.
