- I had a very bad check-in experience at Quest Brighton on the Bay and would not recommend it based on customer service alone.I booked one night accommodation via Booking.com and had already provided my credit card details through the platform. On the day of check-in at around 7pm, I received a call from a private mobile number asking for my credit card details again. Naturally, this immediately felt like a scam, as the call was from a private number and I had already provided my details through Booking.com.The man on the phone said they “could not find” my credit card details and claimed Booking.com did not pass them on. He then threatened to cancel my booking if I did not check in before 10pm, which was shocking. I am a regular traveller and have never experienced a situation where a guest cannot check in after 10pm without proper prior notice.I tried calling the hotel’s official number for clarification, but it went straight to voicemail saying reception was closed. This left us extremely confused and anxious. We rushed and drove faster than normal just to make it before 10pm.At around 9:50pm, the same man called again from the private number, sounding angry and aggressive, repeating that he would leave at 10pm and again demanding my credit card details over the phone. At that point, we were only 10 minutes away and explained we would arrive at 10:04pm and could sort everything out face-to-face. He refused to listen and kept repeating that he would “shut down at 10pm.”Because the call was still from a private number and his attitude was threatening, we did not feel safe giving our credit card details over the phone. When we arrived at 10:04pm, the doors were locked, reception closed, and no one was there. We were extremely frustrated and stressed. After calling the emergency number again, a night shift staff member (a lady) thankfully answered, let us in, and was very helpful. She explained that staff sometimes use a shared private mobile number — somet

Very clean, comfortable, friendly and welcoming service
An lovely, quiet, hotel in an excellent location.Thank you to the staff (Anthony) who were able to assist with ensuring our spacious room had a firm mattress. It made for a perfect stay. We'll be back again.
Location and cleanliness.
Some of equipement was not working, but they fixed it quickly.
Overcharged and under serviced
I will be lodging tomorrow a formal complaint about the experience (overcharged room rates, lack of cleaning and other misleading references to non existing services) and requesting just reimbursement.
Great location, simple rooms but nice
Nil
The room was quiet and comfortable. The bathroom was large.
It is a 10 minute walk to the nearest bus which goes every 20 minutes.
The room was fine however the wifi was a little unreliable. The location was fine for my needs. They seem to mix up the rooms you book and provide a lesser quality room - we had booked thru booking.com and what we booked and got did not match.
Check is laboriously slow - it is 2025 and having booked on line (through booking/com) it should take a couple of minutes (at most). They keep failing to provide the room that was booked!. They appear to mix up "Studio Apartment" with "Studio Apartment Executive" - more than once we have been given the lesser quality room to the one we booked!
The room was a good size. Bed very comfortable. Room very clean. Liked the parking under the building especially since it rained a lot.
My window looked onto a wall. Made it depressing to be in the room during day
The shower and the toiletries were niceBeing able to park near the lifts was greatWas nice to have music on in the room on entry
The noise from the pedestrian traffic light beep beep beep could be heard in the room ALL nightThe bed was not very good quality and as a result sleep was very disturbed (from traffic light noise) and just by having two people in it meant partner disturbance happened........maybe other rooms further back have no issue with noise ?The extra blanket was filthy and clearly had not been checked after previous guests.... we requested a replacement one and it was sent upDoor on balcony was not locked when we entered and it was slightly ajar. I emailed reception 24 hours ago and heard nothing..........if a guest cuts short their stay I would be responding ASAPI know the area well and had a function so needed accom.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was nice near the beach.
The room had a window facing a very close brick wall so felt very enclosed. Was expecting a window facing open space.
Clean, comfortable, very large room with good amenities. Great location.
The bed was very comfortable.
The cooking utensils and crockery were so high and difficult to see and then to reach. For some we needed to stand on a chair. A real problem as it was considered a disabled room
Very convenient to Church St and the beach. Great value.
Accepts animals which can be noisy and smelly
Great location, staff were super friendly and very helpful. Bed was a little softer than I would prefer but everything else was just perfect and very comfortable.
Nothing really
The roms were comfortable with excellent heating. The ooms were set out well and we had plenty of rooom.
I was a bit disappointed that the room was not serviced on Sunday and we had to ask for the room to be serviced on Monday when we returned at around 4:00pm. Other than that all went well.
quiet, comfortable, clean
Room was quiet, bed was comfortable, staff accommodating and the room had everything I could need.
Nothing. I was very happy with my stay :)
