Scandic Gamla Stan

The staff was so friendly and the location is excellent! Walking distance to everything in Gamla Stan.

There was no air conditioning and it was very hot. There should be a fan in every room.

The staff is friendly and very helpful. They know who you are and have the key waiting for you when you come in like an old fashioned hotel. The location is beautiful and very convenient to the metro/Tunnelbana station. The breakfast is excellent.

Scandic has cheapened the hotel with vending in the lobby, removed the antique furniture and rugs and replaced it with cheap stuff. The anti-theft mirrors in the lobby are super tacky. Simple repairs in the drapes and paint are not being done.

The breakfast was (among the) best I have ever had.The room was comfortable and spacious.The location in the Old town was excellent.Public transportation is close.

Taxis would/could not get to the front door because of traffic regulations.There was a lot of noise from the nearby trains going over the bridge, especially with open windows. The sound insulation of the windows was good.

Nice classic style room. Tasty breakfast and charismatic chef.Perfect location in old town - everything reachable within walking distance. Metro station is close to.

Hotel was in a great location. Clean and well kept. Beds comfy. Breakfast was great.

No kettle in the room for making tea or coffee.

The location of the facility was great, just take a few steps into the crowded area of Gamla Stan. The room was warm and clean, the hotel was generally quiet. The breakfast variety was also good. I am very pleased. Also, on my first day, the blonde lady at the reception told me what I can do around, where I can eat, all with a smiling face. The restaurant she recommended was also great.

Breakfast is EXCELLENT.Staff is helpful and if you are leaving before breakfast hours, they kindly packed us some to go bags so we could catch our 8AM flight!!

Rooms are "small" BUT are functional.

Excellent breaksfast. Charming building. Rooms small but big enough. Very clean. Desk clerk extremely helpful when we had problems with train cancellation. Very close to transit but quiet.

Bed in one room too soft and awkward arrangement of furniture in that room but not a big deal.

The hotel is charming and well maintained. The reception staff were all very friendly and the lady who checked us in was particularly helpful and I’m grateful that she kindly allowed us to check in early morning free of charge. The breakfast was amazing! I loved it.

Our room wasn’t level, so as a result the bed dipped on one side. and the pillows were just flat small square cushions ;/ I found the room to be cold at night and there was no extra blanket in the cupboard which I would have liked. Room is on the small side. But we managed okay.

Centrally located within historic downtown, next to metro station.

Noise disturbance from a nightclub near by until 1am and sometimes 3am. We asked the front desk about this and they indicated the city was not cracking down on noise levels. This means that as a guest, you have to put up with the loud thumping noise until very late at night.

Very clean, comfortable and fine location

I loved this quaint and cosy boutique hotel. From the small, wood lined elevator to the snug attic room, It felt more like staying at a charming guesthouse than a hotel. What really makes this place is the staff though. Without exception they were kind, friendly and helpful. Shout out to Stefan and Susie on Reception who were generous with their time and great fun. The breakfast was fabulous with plenty GF, DF and vegan options and presided over by the amazing Oscar. Best breakfast host ever!! If you want lots of space and facilities and a modern slick environment, this is not the place for you. But if, like me, you like to find places that make you feel at home when you travel, this place ticks that box. Far exceeded my expectations for a chain property. Perfect for a solo traveller.

Location, clean and comfortable rooms

There’s nothing I disliked.

The hotel is in a perfect location, the staff were friendly, the room and bed (although small) was very comfortable and warm and the breakfast was amazing with a huge variety of fresh foods. The breakfast chef was especially welcoming. We had friends staying elsewhere and they were able to pay and join us for breakfast too which completed our stay. As we had a late flight on our day of departure we safely left our bags in the handy luggage storage room.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

Cosy, clean , interesting , fabulous food

Amazing location, felt like a fairy tale house in old Stockholm, with our view over the roofs. Also very close to the T-bana station. Beautiful old interior! We were also very happy that we could leave our bags there for the day.

The wifi on our room was quite poor. The elevator is quite small, fits max 2 ppl with (small) bags. Obviously, as this is an old house, then the ventilation/air conditioning is quite poor. We had the small window open during the night to avoid the room getting stuffy. I can imagine it gets quite hot in the summer.
