Pros +
- It was perfectly located , clean staff went out of their way to help especially Julia the bar manager.
- The room was very comfortable and the location is perfect to explore Stockholm
- The standard room was very spacious with a king bed, large desk, seating, and a large bathroom. My room faced an interior courtyard and was very quiet.
Cons -
- It was difficult to get a seat in the bar because of all the non-guests that used it.
- Upon arrival, we lugged our bags up the front steps as doormen watched. I was surprised that a 5-star hotel didn't rush out with valets. Slightly disappointed that the hotel's main restaurants were closed for two weeks over the holidays.
- Same breakfast menus 2 days running

Beautiful, classic hotel in an old world style that's becoming harder to find. We especially loved the staff at the Cadier Bar, where we spent several meals. Impressive wine list!

Great location, beautiful interiors. Room service was amazing and staff were excellent. Would recommend the afternoon tea with waterside view.
Clean well presented and perfect

Location and very friendly staff
The rooms were too chilly and in the evening it was impossible to get a space in the bar.

Good location, service, spacious enough room
Spa to be paid.Breakfast good but not excellent.Room design
Good location, friendly staff, nice breakfast buffet
Had to change my room 3 times because rooms assigned were so hot they felt like a sauna. Seems not all rooms have functioning AC. Called guest services & went down to reception & staff were helpful to assign a different room.
Loved the location and the staff attention to detail
Little things like additional bottled water requests were a challenge to get
Simply the best location, super historic grand building and facilities. Some of the staff are stand-out incredible, especially the younger members of the team who have attained interpersonal skills far beyond their years. You’ll read my negative points and think perhaps I was disappointed - I wasn’t - the positive experiences of the staff generally and place massively outweigh my niggles. I will 100% go back.
I couldn’t try the Michelin star restaurant as my partner is a vegetarian and there is no support for those diners. The spa is not included in the stay which at this level is cheeky - £70 or so to use it but on a £3k bill for three nights I would have preferred it to just be included even if they charged me in the price. Same for breakfast - £80 for two people (but I note that the lack of breakfast seems to be a booking.com thing - I think the hotel themselves offer packages that include breakfast. I have to also add that when I expressed surprise about the breakfast the lady actually did that free for us on the spot that morning which was a kind gesture) - the front restaurant - the Veranda(?) - we tried twice to eat there at 8pm but were turned away as it was too busy. In a five star hotel you don’t really expect to be turned away from dinner as a resident. Finally, the staff in the Soleil bar were not attentive - they were not busy but it seemed impossible to get their attention - we sat for 30 mins without a drink, finally managed to get one but felt uncomfortable that it was just so hard to get service. This was absolutely not the case in every other part of the building, where service levels were outstanding.
Location, staff
Old darty carpets
Excellent in every way. The hotel staff are nice, the location is superb, and the food is definitely delicious.
Super convenient and beautiful hotel.
There was a $300 damage deposit upon check in that i had no idea about so they wouldnt let me check in for 5 hours. Also i paid for a full size bed but got a twin size. Staff was nice and helpful though.
Loved the location, we were able to walk to everything.
WiFi was terrible in our room. Every time we used it would work briefly and then kick us off. Told front desk said they would have IT check it out but no change.
1. I had a very comfortable stay, in a well maintained and pleasing environment of restrained, traditional luxury (nothing flashy, but nothing missing), modernised to a standard which should be expected of such a prestigious establishment in such a special location.2. I was treated with attention, courtesy and efficiency. A well-judged balance between “high touch” engagement and discreet distance (the latter professionally and gracefully observed by the team, evidently highly trained to observe, interpret and manage guest requirements in real time).3. The hotel, in its physical and human dimensions, projects a sense of belonging, a family feeling, even to an occasional visitor (like me).
There was nothing I didn’t like. Two notes on what could be even better:- A grand swimming pool for a grand hotel. (I’m sure this has been considered, and that there have always been very good reasons why the current arrangements - which are a fine example of their type - are as they are).- While the service in the bar area was generally of a very high standard, I had a sense at times that the team, or perhaps just this or that individual member of it, was overstretched, leading to the occasional lapse in efficiency/ attention.
Location is great.
This is an expensive property but it misses conveying that. Every time I’ve stayed they put me in the “new” wing, and every time my room was either slightly or very odd-shaped. And the materials were nice enough but were almost modern or almost stylish but not thematically tied together by someone with interior decoration skills. Finally, I arrived two hours before check-in time, they told me I was early, and they did not give me my room until 50 minutes AFTER check-in time. I would have expected them to come up with something sooner.
The location
The bed was very uncomfortable and the stuff was not professional. They gave us a downgrade in room category and the cleaning stuff entered the room without knocking the door even though we were in the room.
The Cast feature of the TV did not work good but the manager did his best t assist by changing the price as we checked out.
TV and one the the two siinks could not be used.
