Location, cleanliness, breakfast

Cold breeze in room due to broken window. Also, cold atmosphere in the lobby and breakfast restaurant.

Very tasty breakfast

As soon as I entered the room, I noticed several issues: The TV wasn’t working at first—three staff members came to fix it, and they eventually got it working. Plaster was falling from the ceiling. The room itself was clean and well-kept, but it was clear that the renovation had been done a long time ago. The mattress was incredibly uncomfortable—it literally slid off the bed, making it impossible to sleep. Every time the neighbor in the next room closed their door, the whole room shook. The sound insulation was practically non-existent, so I spent the night wondering whether the shaking was caused by them going in and out or just from outside. The shower was a real challenge. Water didn’t drain properly and ended up spilling not only in the bathroom but also into the living area.

It was not clear when booking that the small double room was for one person only. Had pay extra to the hotel for double occupancy.

The staff are really welcoming and they were so friendly for our entire stay.

The rooms are small but manageable, however, there is no real storage place for luggage and clothing in the rooms.

Hotel was so quite i really enjoyed the stay and had no problems at all sleeping and relaxing.

Great location, a short walk from the main streets, amazing and delicious breakfast, very good restaurant, helpful and pro-active staff!Very good commute to the airport, the hotel is 3-5 min from the closest metro stations and it's almost a straight line.

The only down side is that the first night garbage was being taken away around midnight and the noise was prolonged and made it impossible to sleep.The room was also very cold when I arrived because the heater had been turned off.

This was our second time here and the staff is just so lovely!! The lobby is nice & the breakfast & restaurant amazing. Huge selection of hot delicious food. Fantastic. Location is stupendous. Walking distance to Gamla Stan or 2 stops on subway, which is like a 2 min walk from hotel. Can walk to all main shopping areas & nightlife. Nice, safe upscale area. Quiet street. The beds are very comfy! Super duper comfy. Rooms have big huge windows that open. Good size fridge. No microwave but staff is happy to heat things up for you in the one in lobby. Hotel is spotless. Slippers provided. Great market just a block or so from hotel. The staff is super knowledgeable and friendly. Shout out to Louise who is the main reason we stay here. She’s the consummate professional who feels like an old friend! This place goes out of their way to please.

The rooms for 3 were very very tight. No room for luggage except on the floor so had to step over. We made it work because the staff & breakfast/restaurant & location are so good. The rooms are a bit cold…could use better decor. I think it’s tacky to charge for robes. Ours were comped which was very sweet of the staff.

We have stayed at the Birger Jarl several times and been happy on every occasion. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the breakfast is excellent. It is well placed for access to the city centre.

Fantastic location near to the metro. We went all over the city from here. The hotel staff were lovely and helpful and the hotel was really secure with the need for a key card to access the lifts. The parking was perfect. Great breakfast with lots of choice. The room was so comfortable too. We loved Stockholm.

For the things we liked, I would note that the breakfast choices were nice (although the eating area was quite busy both mornings we were there), the room was very clean and the staff was polite and helpful.

The room was very basic and not necessarily uncomfortable but just very standard and relatively small. Despite this, the hotel was located near a metro stop, and there were a number of shops, restaurants and attractions within a walking distance.

Comfy, good food and good price

The breakfast was exceptional. Everything was fresh and tasted amazing. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and fully stocked. The hotel's location was really good, close to everything and easy to get by.

The location was very good, just a 5-minute walk from the metro station. The hotel atmoshpere and common areas were very clean and well maintained.

Breakfast was the same eveyday, so if you stay for many days it may become a bit monotonous and boring.
