- Excellent location with very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. We shall be back
- I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and truly enjoyed every aspect of the experience. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of options to choose from, and the coffee was especially delicious. It was a perfect way to start each day.The interior of the hotel is absolutely beautiful. The building itself is historic, and the design preserves its character while offering modern comfort, creating a very unique and charming atmosphere. What impressed me the most was the staff. Everyone was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They were always ready to help, responded quickly to any request, and made sure all our questions were resolved smoothly. Their professionalism and friendliness made our stay even more enjoyable.
- The location, bathroom excellent, very clean and good staff. The breakfast also is good
Cons -
- I stayed in Room 102, which is designed for guests with reduced mobility and includes the corresponding accessibility features. The room is located on the ground floor and faces the inner courtyard. Because of this, all the windows are covered with special privacy screens, so there is very little natural light and almost no direct sunlight in the room. This is something future guests may want to keep in mind when choosing this category of accommodation. The building itself is historic, and the room reflects some of the structural characteristics typical for older properties. While this gives the hotel a certain charm, it also means that some aspects of the space feel different compared to modern hotel rooms. In terms of cleanliness, the overall condition of the room was great, although the shower area could have been maintained more carefully, as the shower hoses did not appear fully clean. Overall, the stay was satisfactory, but guests who prefer brighter rooms with more natural light may wish to request a different room location.
- The good local restaurants get full quickly, so make a reservation in advance.
- Although renovated, no sound proofing whatsoever so sleepless nights listening to the noise of the elevator, other guest rooms, sounds from the bar, etc. Room small and cramped. Unforgivable that a hotel at this cost does not provide free water - charging for plastic bottles at 2x the local Carrefour.

The location, bathroom excellent, very clean and good staff. The breakfast also is good
Breakfast was included. There was a wide variety of excellent food; yoghurts, fruit, cerials, patiseries and cakes, cold meats, smoked salmon and chesses, cooked brekfast (eggs, susages and bacon) as well as excellent coffees and teas. There were also fruit juices and local specialities (andalusian pastries). All of this was served to individual small tables in a variety of the charming rooms on the ground floor but friendly and attentive staff. Our room was full of authentic decoration and features and the en-suite bathroom included a spa bath and shower, toilet and bidet and two individual sinks and a dressing table. Plaza Santa Marta is a quiet little gem close to the city attractions but off the beaten track.

Very nice period property with a very good breakfast of cooked eggs, fruit and pastries, although the standard rooms are somewhat small, ordinary and outdated for the 110 euro charge.
Good location. Interesting architecture. Friendly staff.

Great location and friendly staff beautiful building.
All good.
The location was great and the hotel itself was very interestingly decorated (positive)! We went in January when it was cooler.
The shower had some issues but still worked ok. I think it would be quite warm in the summer.
It is a boutique sized hotel, located in Old Sevilla, in a beautiful historical building. A convenient location (3-10 min. walk) to Las Setas, Alameda de Hercules, El Corte Ingles, and some of the city's best shopping, dining and historical sights. A nice breakfast. A friendly and helpful staff.
What an amazing hotel! Perfect location, friendly staff, delicious breakfast, absolutely fantastic. I loved the reading room with its cozy leather sofas and the fireplace, it was the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring Seville.
- Designed interior - Great location, within walking distance of the Cathedral- They serve a delicious buffet breakfast.
- Our stay was completely ruined by the terrible soundproofing of the room. Because of a connecting door to the adjacent room, we could hear every single word, cough, or even the toilet flushing next door. It was absolutely impossible to sleep for two nights because the neighbors arrived late and continued socializing through the night. According to the staff, this is a standard issue for this particular room due to the aforementioned door (see photo)- No umbrellas provided during rainy weather
3rd year in row i was here ,its always nice to be back ,we had good time in general,we had great comunication with Jorge, breakfast was great
It was rainy and our room(biggest one) was quite dark all the time ,without sunlight its totally different atmosphere so that's a disappointment for me,and some mirrors were not clean enough .i noticed that
Great location Really quirky Fabulous roomHelpful and friendly staff
Beautiful hotel in a former palace. Great breakfast and location.
Great breakfast and location.
The place is amazing. The bed was very comfortable, the room has the necessary amenities. The location is ideal, in the center with cafes and restaurants nearby but not overcrowded The best was the staff. They were very welcoming and friendly, and open for a chat. The breakfast is worth it, really good in a beautiful dining area with fireplaces. I would definitely come back if I were to visit Seville again.
The AC needs time to warm up the room. I prefer to sleep without ac so in the morning it was a bit cold. But I was there in very rainy days, unlucky... It shouldn't be a big problem the rest of the time.
This hotel is welcoming. It’s in an excellent location with all the main sites and shops within easy walking distance. The rooms are beautifully furnished with loads of character and style. This is certainly not an anonymous and ordinary hotel. Staff are friendly and really want to help. Breakfasts are fresh and tasty. There is an excellent little restaurant next door if you get fed up with tapas.Would really recommend.
There’s nothing we didn’t like. Perfect as it is.
We recently stayed at Hotel Ateneo Sevilla (room 202, which turned out to be part of the Deluxe Junior Suite.) In many ways, the hotel lived up to its reputation. The location is excellent, there is a nice breakfast, the building is beautiful, decor charming, and the staff were consistently warm and welcoming. We genuinely enjoyed many aspects of our time there.
Unfortunately, our experience with the room itself was deeply disappointing and at times extremely frustrating. We booked a "Superior Double or Twin Room", but were instead placed in room 202, which turned out to be the bedroom and bath section of the "Junior Suite Deluxe", that they instead sold in this period as two separate rooms. This was not disclosed on Booking.com or on the hotel’s website. Our room (a bedroom and bathroom) was separated from the rest of the suite by a door and thin wall that provided virtually no sound insulation. The larger part of the suite—where another couple stayed—features large salon/library with a mezzanine bedroom directly above our bed. We could hear every footstep, conversation, argument, and movement, often until 2am. Even with noise-cancelling earbuds, sleeping was nearly impossible.Once we realized we had been placed in a divided suite rather than the room category we booked, we raised the issue with the front desk. The staff acknowledged the problem, but as the hotel was fully booked, there was no option to move us, and management ultimately did nothing to remedy the situation. To be clear, we liked the hotel and appreciated the staff. However, the room assignment and lack of soundproofing made our stay practically intolerable. Future guests should be aware that the **Junior Suite Deluxe (room 202)** may be divided and sold as two rooms, with significant noise issues. Had it not been for this, we would have had a wonderful stay—but we did not receive the room we booked, could not sleep properly, and found the situation extremely frustrating.
Lovely old world hotel with great charm and friendly staff. Fabulous location. If you can book the suite on the second floor it’s such a treat and a truly amazing experience. Probably the best room we’ve ever enjoyed in our many decades of travelling. Beware of the spiral staircase as it may be tricky to climb for this with mobility issues. Breakfasts at the hotel were tasty and ample with lots of protein choices and much more.
We visited over Christmas Eve and Day to reunite with family. How we would have appreciated some festive decor, ideally a Christmas tree in the lobby or maybe a small one in the grand suite.
The building, the staff quite friendly and helpful, the location .Juan Jose the manager a good friendly helpful mate
Nice and welcoming hotel, Staff very helpful and good sized room with super comfortable bed. Surely recommended.
