This 4-star hotel is located in central Cannes, just 492 feet from the beaches of La Croisette. It offers a private beach (with extra cost) for the guests and upon prior booking, an outdoor swimming pool heated all year long. Pros +

  • The hotel was very well-located and clean.
  • Location was great - very close to the Croisette and beach. Room was clean and a decent size with a balcony.

Cons -

  • We made the mistake of booking at this hotel in April when the heating was still on. Even though they say they have air-conditioning, I was told it was not available yet even though it was warm outside. Even with the heating off in the small room and the window wide open - it was so hot on the 5th floor that I couldnt sleep. I would say it was unbearable and ruined my trip. When I spoke to the Manager, he was unhelpful, unsympathetic and frankly rude.
  • The rooms were extremely hot, there was no option for AC despite asking repeatedly and the hotel having advertised itself as having AC. We were told it was not possible to turn it on, just to leave a window/door open. The temperature in the room was sometimes as high as 29 degrees celsius. On taking this up with the desk manager on check-out, he was dismissive, defensive and did not even really accept that we had never had this experience in similar rated hotels elsewhere. We explained to him that we had not been able to sleep much for our two nights which was frustrating as it was a short 3 day break. Whilst he said he was sorry to hear this no gestures of goodwill were offered. Further, without telling us or with any signage to indicate, it turns out that if you use the stairwell your key card does not work on the doors (despite there being key card fobs on all the stairwell doors on every floor). Therefore I became trapped in the stairwell with no way out although eventually I was able to exit at the ground level (although again there were no signs to indicate this). On explaining this to the same manager, he said there was obviously something wrong with my key fob as it should have let me get out on my own floor. When we explained that there was nothing wrong with my key fob, because it always worked in the lifts and for my room door and lights in the room, he was utterly dismissive. He went so far as to say it was 'exceptional' for someone to use the stairs. I beg to differ, if a person wishes to use the stairs and there is no signage saying they are only to be used in the case of emergency, then they are at liberty to do so. Again, no gesture of good will was offered. I will be taking this up with Accor Groups, of which this hotel is a member.
