Bob W Munich Old Town

Perfect location, very close to the city center. I appreciated that even though this hotel does not have a physical reception the staff are very helpful (via WhatsApp).

The shower head was broken.

A place that can’t even be called a hotel — absolutely terrible.There is no reception, everything is digital but it doesn’t work properly. You have to message a WhatsApp number; at first you get a chatbot response, and then they open the room remotely. If your phone battery dies, you simply can’t get in!The rooms are small and noisy, with a strange smell. There’s not even the possibility to get water or a coffee — you have to go to a bar outside, since the internal one only opens at 2 pm.The sink is clogged.

The location is great! My room was super small, but perfect for people who are just looking for a good sleep, as the bed was one of the most comfy I've ever had. LOVED the gym combination! Everything felt "Form-follows-function" with great quality.

No kettle and I wished for some hot tea in the cold weather (snowy January). The wifi was really bad in my room. The room I had was super small fits for a solo traveler only

No coffee or hot water kettle in the room for breakfast in the morning.

The bed was very comfortable with good quality sheets. Bathroom also excellent with a powerful shower and plenty of hot water.

Location and suite are new

No service at all. No front desk . Trying to extend checkout took over one hour . No coffee. No place in the morning to sit . This was not a hotel but the price was like a four star hotel . Even trying to get in at night became complicated . Electronic system sends messages 20 min delayed .

THe staff was friendly and the location was near transportation and sites we were interested in seeing. I really liked the shower heads!

It was not bad.... It served our purposes just fine.

Great location, cool concept

The keyless entry was glitchy, we had to pay to check in 2 hours early (even though the room was already ready) because there were no spare luggage lockers, and our shower didnt drain properly and then flooded, and the team asked if we could wait till the next day for a solution ? I had to ask if we could have another room as we hadnt showered which they said no because they didnt have anymore in our category but offered us access to another room to be able to shower. Housekeeping cleaned the drain the next day and then it was working fine - are they not cleaning the drains every time? What are their cleanliness standards? Then I had to ask if we could be refunded for the early check in to account for this inconvenience and they said no and offered me late check out which i said we didnt need as we had to leave early anyway and asked again for a refund and again they offered me late check out instead and again i had to say no until they finally refunded me. Also the room has no amenities, no coffee machine, no kettle, nothing

The property was great, very cosy and quiet. It’s very close to the Old town, walking distance to a lot of restaurants. There is no reception, everything is done via their app and it works great. Bed was comfortable, toilet was nice and clean.

Great hotel just 5 minutes walking distance to the old town. Nice modern room, very clean and comfortable. Very good value for money.

Easy to find and to access

Room want ready when we arrived at designated checking time. They did offer 10% discount on 2 of 3 rooms which weren't ready.

1/ My husband got ill 2 days before our arrival and there were no possibility to cancel one night or to postpone the stay by one day. We lost €500. The policy has to be more customer friendly.2/ from one reservation of 3 rooms we got 3 rooms in completely different floors (1, 6 and 7 floor). We are a family 2 parents and 2 kids. Not easy when all the keys rooms are on one phone. I asked before the checkin if it’s possible to change it and the answer was no (what I do not understand because there was one free room).3/ When I booked the rooms, I asked for quiet rooms. We got one on the first floor direct to a partyroom. It was very loud (107).4/ No possibility to reserve a table for breakfast. Not easy to find something on the 1th of January

Great location.

Rooms too small. Nowhere to put clothes. Tv didn’t work properly, curtain coming off the rails, power point didn’t work. They located our 2 rooms on different levels. Not great when you have kids.

Good location and clean. Staff via the app/WhatsApp were responsive and helpful (and we did need to ask quite a few questions).The underfloor heating is lovely and cosy and easily adjusted, and having an operable window is great for ventilation.

It lacks the service of a hotel and the in-room amenities of a serviced apartment. I think BOB W is supposed to stand for ‘best of both worlds’ but it’s probably the worst of both worlds… no conveniences of a serviced apartment, and no comforts of a hotel. I think they need to work on their value proposition, because it essentially feels like a nice hostel.We messaged the virtual concierge (as the property is unmanned) and were told that there were cooking facilities in the room, but this was later corrected by a human who told us there were none.The ‘apartment’ had only two small tumbler glasses, no cutlery or crockery, hardly any wardrobe or storage space, only one chair, and not even any tea or coffee making facilities.We stayed over Christmas when everything is closed in Munich and didn’t even have a kettle or mug in the room to make an instant soup or pot noodles. There isn’t even a small bar fridge, so we balanced some fridge items outside the window in the cold so we’d have something to eat over Christmas. How festive…We were told we could borrow a kettle from the ‘pantry’ in the lobby, but it took a day or two to find one as it seemed there weren’t many, and they had all been taken by other guests.This ‘pantry’ is where you find things for your room like toilet paper, fresh towels, etc. and is located in the public foyer with the luggage storage. BTW, there were only a few lockers, so even the luggage storage convenience is stripped back.I like the idea of the BOB W concept, but it didn’t deliver as a serviced apartment or as a hotel… just floats in the middle in mediocrity where every ‘clever, modern approach’ they market actually just feels like a cost cutting initiative.

Great location and easy access/check in.

Fitness Center is actually a local gym, so not as easily accessible as a hotel with a gym—but good offer! No hot water heater for coffee or tea in the room. Some people had a hard time with the entrance code (I don’t know why—just put in the code you’re given…).
