Oldtown Hostel Otter

Loved the layout and the view from the room.

It was pretty far from the more populated areas.

Close to major sites/in old town. We were happy with breakfast too. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Wish we knew beforehand how to reach it using public transportation.

Great location, relaxed atmosphere, easy luggage storage

This was a budget choice in a great location - Old Town Zurich. We enjoyed being able to walk to the waterfront, train station, and tourist sites. While not fancy, it more than met our needs for our family's 2-day stay in Zurich.

Very good location with very nice staff. Laundry service for 15 franc!! Free toast + cereals + tea + coffee breakfast every morning. Beds had curtains and large lockers, with locks provided. Also provided towels without charge, which I have found to be uncommon for hostels. Also had a sink and table + chairs in each room which was very nice!! Definitely had a younger kind of audience.

Beds were a little creaky and shaky, and was quite expensive accomodation - though still a decent price for Zurich!!

The free breakfast and comfortable bed! The hostel is located in a good area accessible for trams, trains, and christmas market.

The rooms are too hot lol which is really good in winter.

This property is in the perfect location and was super easy to find and access.

One thing I did not like about this property was not having a sink in the bathroom. It was a little awkward.

The staff were really nice and good and answered all my questions when asked. The hostel was clean. The luggage store was very good

The price; it was really expensive.

The location was really good, friendly and helpful staff, easy check in and check out. The space in the room was really good.

Top beds are a little hard to get in.

The staffs are really nice. We stayed in the room with 2 single beds and a balcony, the view was nice. It’s generally clean.

It’s a little bit far from the main station on foot, but can be easily reached by tram.

Actually, it is in the center of Zurich. It has a very pleasant place and the bed curtains are actually “giving” in a way that everyone can have their own privacy. And lucky to me, I got a window beside my bed which I can clearly see the picturesque view outside (shown in pic)

Nothing to complain, as it actually let you stay in the center and you will experience what you paid for.

Train station was 5 min aways, very cleand and very safe.

There should be someone showing you the property around, never went to the kitchen because i never got to know where it was.

Tomas and Wassalissa were great hosts, super friendly and helpful. If you book at least 2 or 3 nights (I don't remember well) you can choose a free t-shirt with the name of the hostel and a cool otter design.The location was excellent, everything was at a walking distance.Showers were warm, plenty of space, shower and bathroom were separate. There's a sink inside the room. Each bed has curtains and electric outlets. They lend you a towel so you don't have to check out with your towel wet. Breakfast is free, they have bread, butter, marmellate, capuccino, regular coffee, milk, a fridge for storing food, there is nowhere to cook a full meal but you can buy premade meals at the supermarket and put things in the oven or microwave. The common area was the kitchen where u get to meet a lot of people (of course that will depend...). There is an elevator available and a bar at the hostel. Prices are what you would expect of Switzerland, it is pricey.

Near to the train station- just walking distance but around 15 mins. Everything is already available in your bed, even the towel- since we arrived late, hence, keys are available in the locker in front of the main entrance (door).

The hostel is very nice! It's perfectly located, clean and comfy. I can totally recommend staying there, the hosts are just amazing, super friendly and very helpful, you feel like a guest, not like just a customer. There is even a small free breakfast for everybody, though i don't remember if it was mentioned in the booking.All facilities were regularly maintained and very clean. The bar downstairs has an nice international crowd, and the general vibe in the hostel is very good, encourages people to interact and get social in common areas. Totally worth the money in this crazy-expensive city:)

The noise from other guests and from the street… It was impossible to sleep

Very quiet, cozy and social - centrally located

Kitchen space was very small and staff was distant. Some minor peeves were that the bathrooms were all out of hand soap during my visit
