It's a convenient place to stay in Zurich as it is a house facility that works as a hostel.
The lady managing the place is just not nice. Quite ruthless manner and didn't inform of the check-out hour. Not happy with this.
Great locationQuiet property Clean and beautiful aestheticsThe staff was friendlyThe people i stayed with were finemy option didn't come with a breakfast
cleanliness
too many people inside a small place, small rooms, only 2 toilets shared with other 20/30 people and no security, room keys, cameras, my food got stolen in the fridge 3 times
I stayed here for three nights and had a very good experience. The hostel is calm, clean, and well maintained, with facilities that made my stay comfortable. Although it’s a bit away from the city centre, the tram service is excellent and gets you there in less than 30 minutes. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming; I met other travelers and enjoyed it. This is not a social hostel environment, but its good for a change. Overall, Viktoria Budget Hostel is a great place to stay in Zurich. Peaceful, clean, and easy to reach, with a warm environment that makes you feel at home. Highly recommended!
The only issue I had was one night with a fellow guest snoring heavily, but that’s not related to the hostel itself.
It was clean and organozed
Staff was only one old lady, and the location was way too inside...
Overall, it was a great property tucked away, and it felt like it was in a tiny village. The host(s) were friendly and helpful. The kitchen was good, fully equipped with crockery and cutlery. The hostel has great wifi that works even outside on the terrace. They even provide you with flip-flops to use around the house, so you don't wear your shoes indoors. Also, they give you bed linen and a towel to use for your stay and the hostel itself is fully decked with instructions, which I really appreciate because I'm too shy to ask
I think this is a general thing, but there was a lot of snoring in my dorm, so a heads up is to get earplugs to help you with that. It isn't the hostel's problem, but it's worth knowing. Also, there is a standalone toilet that is used a lot and tends to smell a bit, so use the toilet in the large bathroom, but again, it's not on the hostel, rather the people staying there. Otherwise, great stay.
Such a clean place, the woman who owns it (I assume) is such a hard worker. She takes care of the whole place on her own and it's spotless. You can't wear shoes in the property, she provides slides for all the guests. One time she noticed mine were too big for me and went out of her way to bring me a pair that fit better. The kitchen and shared living area are really nice, you get a great view of the city. You need to take a bus from the train station to get here, maybe takes about 20 minutes. But the hostel is a 5 minute walk from the nearest grocery store, only thing is they all close at 8 so make sure to get your groceries before then!Great wifi and a great stay.
I spent 2 weeks and enjoyed: The friendliness of the Russian hostess Lots of space with a pretty city view and a nice kitchen Well connected to the city’s public transportMany bathrooms (with blow driers ?)Everything looked cleanRelaxing kind of hostel
The location is a bit hard to find and the street looks dark and quiet at nightThis is not a social/party hostel: people come and go and it’s hard to make friends. No activities are offered.
Very nice staff. The granny doesn't speak much english but speaks deutsch and russian, i believe. Facilities are really nice and clean.
The bed was a little too soft. I have a scoliosis, and my back wasn't the most comfortable.
This place is sufficiently fine. It's very clean. The host lives onsite. She's fine, albeit speaks very little english and instead Russian; so communication is a little hard and she's a bit odd, but she's sufficiently kind at heart. It's very well lit with natural light and has enough sitting/lounging places. The host plays nice jazz all day too and attempts to decorate the establishment. Wifi works well and most rooms have 4 beds, a few 5-6. Finally you're also directly on the 13 tram line which takes you to town quickly.
- The beds are too soft for my preference. - The showers, while very clean, felt a bit awkward and small. They're operable at the end of the day. - The Fridge is kind of small for the number of guests. However the supermarket is extremely close, so it's easy to make many visits. - It's fine, it's not a modern cute trendy hostel. But for the price, you really cannot go wrong. I'd stay here again.
Hostess was really nice and accommodating. Room is not more than what you would expect in a hostel. Located a little outside of Zurich city centre in a quite and calm subburb. Loved staying there.
The hostel is 15 minutes from downtown via tram #46 Rutihof. It's a bit far if you so much bags bec you need to walk around 8minutes to be exact. Of course what you expect from hostel. Bunkbeds and people you don't know. But overall it's clean and very organized. Facilities are good, you can sit in the living room before sleeping. It's very homey.
You need walk going down to the hostel. I have luggage so it's quite uneasy
This was my first time visiting a hostel, and I was quite nervous at first, thinking it might not be comfortable. However, I had a very good experience overall. The people were kind and friendly, and the hostel had all the necessary amenities, including a kitchen, balcony, and terrace.
The bathroom was not very good, and it lost points for the place overall. The owner was not very polite at first—she made me wait about 10 minutes while talking on the phone with a family member. Overall, though, she was generally courteous.
Very clean, comfortable accommodations in an extremely convenient location. Staff was lovely.
It was clean.
I booked an only female room and they said it's all women here. And then two weird men came and we were shocked!!! I felt insecure.
It’s a bit further from the train station than their typical clientele might prefer. Pretty basic converted property but reasonable price compared to others in the area.
Location. Booking.com suggested a taxi at $104! Tram ride was less than $10 return.
It is very clean, no shoes inside allowed, toilets and showers clean as well, common area is well equipped, including living room, kitchen and the terrasse.
