Hotel Pension Baron am Schottentor

Location, price.

Hotel has no AC, so I have to leave the window open. There's a bar across the street, they were making a lot of noise up to 2:00 am.

Good location, 20ish minute walk to city center and close to train and tram stations. Good facilities, nice staff, clean rooms/bathroom

Can sometimes hear other people in rooms next door talking or moving about, it’s not too bad though. The light from the hallway would shine through into my room at night, slightly annoying but not overly troublesome

I stayed at Hotel Baron am Schottentor for two nights during my visit to Vienna and had a very pleasant experience. The room was clean, well-maintained, and comfortable, providing everything I needed for a short stay.The location is excellent — very central and convenient for exploring the city, yet the surrounding area is quiet and peaceful, allowing for a good night’s sleep.Overall, it was a smooth and enjoyable stay. I would gladly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Vienna and would consider staying here again.

Nothing to say

The hotel was great. The location is amazing, everything is near. We had our 11 month old baby with us, and they made everything so easy for us. They gave us a baby crib so our baby could sleep comfortable.

Everything was great, except the cleaning stuff didn’t change our sheets, but it wasn’t a big deal for us.

Absolutely perfect the receptionists was all kind , perfect spot perfect atmosphere and cozy room

Not really a con, but the reception is only available from 9 to 16. Note that this was already communicated to us by the hotel reception.

Asked for a double bed but had two separate beds next to each other with two separate mattresses. Bath water was either too hot or too cold. Not very clean.

Beautiful older style hotel, very cosy! The location is perfect, walking distance to everything I needed!

Location is perfect. The best hotel for the location.

But don’t have a air condition and room was a little bir dirty. The man at the reception desk seemed to be working reluctantly. There was no smile. But the lady was very helpful.

Very disappointing stay – not clean at allUnfortunately, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The room was extremely dirty. It honestly felt like it hadn’t been cleaned before our arrival. The floor was filthy, as if no vacuum cleaner had been used at all.The towels had black stains on them, which is completely unacceptable. Hygiene was clearly not a priority here. On top of that, the photos online are very misleading and do not reflect the actual condition of the hotel or the rooms.I genuinely have nothing positive to say about this stay. Please think carefully before booking this hotel, especially if cleanliness is important to you.

Location was excellent with great transport close by and a several good options for food

Should mention the stairs when you first enter the property as these were difficult with luggage. The lift is very small if you have luggage. Bar across the road was noisy. We were only told on the day of arrival that we needed to check in by 4 pm with no explanation. Shower was a nightmare as temperature kept changing. Staff not particularly helpful and only available from 9 am to 4 pm.
