About

The Hotel Admiral is centrally located in the very heart of Vienna, in the immediate vicinity of Mariahilfer Straße and the Museum Quarter. The Volkstheater Underground Station, that connects to Line U2 and U3, is a 3-minute walk away. The Hotel Admiral's spacious rooms all have a small refrigerator, satellite TV and free internet access. In a quiet side street near the city's most popular shopping street, the Admiral is only a short walk from many of the most important sights. These include the Museums of the History of Art and of Natural History, the Hofburg Imperial Palace, the Opera, Parliament and the Naschmarkt (open-air market). The trendy Spittelberg quarter, with its many galleries, restaurants and bars, is right around the corner.

    Location great for exploring Vienna

Room very basic, provided a kettle when we asked, but no tea or coffee facilities .

Shockingly close to the museums, and just a 5 minute walk to/from the subway. Most importantly, I was always greeted with a smile, recommendations for things to see off the beaten path were given freely, and good restaurants (not tourist traps) were suggested. I can't say if it's family owned, but it sure felt like it is.

I did have to ask for a tea kettle, and had to go buy my own instant coffee.

The room was comfortable, and the location was pretty central. We travelled with taxis and trains. The train location is about a 10-minute walk from the hotel.

    Location

Poor Internet connection. Shower/bath was too small.

This place was perfect and easily one of my favorite stays in a long time. The room was exactly as advertised and had everything I needed. Spotlessly clean, comfortable temperature even without a unit in the room, and daily cleaning that was never intrusive. The location was ideal—central but incredibly quiet. I really loved staying here and would absolutely return.

Noce hotel, well located and within walking distances of museums, shopping, and good restaurants

    7MonaPosted on: 12-25-2025

The room was very clean. The location very practical. Walking distance to shopping and public transportation. The staff was accommodating. It’s not a luxury hotel but it’s perfect for our needs.

Thin walls. We could hear the people in adjacent rooms.

    8RimaPosted on: 12-8-2025

The location is great, there is public transport nearby, parking available for a price, smooth check-in, staff (Ismail) was very friendly and efficient, everything was great, room was neat and clean.

The parking should have been free for hotel guest, as we are paying the price to stay in Hotel and parking should be available le free of cost for guest, also 35 per night is but too much for parking, if staying for 3/4 days will end up paying more than 100e extra

Staff were very friendly and helpful, room was warm, clean and comfortable, and location was great for easy walking to some of the Christmas Markets

I booked a basic single room, and upon arrival they up graded me to suite I really liked it,Big double bed room with seating area and a bath tub. Was really a nice gesture from the hotel. I enjoyed the place and plus great location in the shopping street area.

Localisation excellent, polite stuff and clean.

    8RahelehPosted on: 11-3-2025

    Location, rooms

    Lack of kettle, toothbrush

    8GailPosted on: 10-15-2025

Very clean. Comfy, and close to subway and museums.

They are tearing down a building near the hotel and the construction noise started early in the morning. The windows helped keep a lot of the noise out and we were gone from hotel from 8am to 8pm so we didn’t hear it that much.

    7BethanyPosted on: 10-14-2025

The location was ideal, next to the museums. The room was small and basic but clean.

It is an old building that echoes loudly, and you can hear everything your "neighbors" do. I was unfortunate to stay at the same time as some rowdy guests and I could hear every word of their conversation as they talked anywhere on the same floor as me. The night quiet hours were not observed. It was also stifling hot and stuffy inside, even in October. Sleeping with a window open was not an option due to noise (there was an event held across the way and students gathered in the street to talk ).In addition, the room was very small and basic, only enough room to walk to the bed alcove. The bathroom door could not open all the way due to the placement of the luggage rack, and it was all very cramped.Unfortunately, none of these complaints can be easily remedied by the hotel. The facilities were more like a hostel than a hotel at its price. I feel it was overpriced for what it was.

Location, stuff was very helpful, parking

Small room and bed, not for two people. The room was too warm and a small fan wont resolve the issue. The bathroom was very small as well

Great location, nice staff and clean hotel. Good value for the money.

Natural lighting. Great place to stay, if you intend to use the hotel as a base.

    10DavidPosted on: 6-18-2025

The people at the desk were amazingly healthy. It is an easy walk to the tram network. The room had everything one needed, nothing fancy but totally adequate.

One doesn't have to take the breakfast. There are a lot of items, but 17.5 euros is far from what would pay in a cafe for a nice cup of coffee and a good crossant.
