Hotel D Geneva

Hotel D Geneve was the perfect choice for our week long vacation in Geneva. The proximity to the train station and Old Town Geneva allowed for ease of walking to a variety of restuarants, shopping, and sites. The hotel was literally a 7 minute walk from the train station and a 15 minute walk to the centre of Old Town. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was both enjoyable and comfortable. Their recommendations for places to eat were spot on. We chose to stay in the luxe room and were not disappointed. The comfort of the bed, amenities, and cleanliness were excellent. The breakfast was delicious and offered both hot and cold options (e.g., eggs, sausage, varieity of cheeses, yogurt, etc). Having our breakfast daily at the hotel allowed us to start our day early and fortified.

Hotel D Geneva was the perfect choice for our vacation. Can't think of anything that would require improvement.

The hotel was close to the main station and the car rental place, there are restaurants and groceries nearby. The lake is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The rooms are modern. The shower was great - good water pressure. There’s storage in the bathroom for toiletries. Soundproofing was also good, although we were on a higher floor on a quiet night. Breakfast was decent, although limited selections for vegetarians. Staff was friendly. Book a bigger room for a longer stay!

A kettle in the room could be good for hot water. The towels could be more absorbent or there could be a better area to hang towels to dry.

Good location near lake, train, restaurants, shopping, etc...

My room was a little noisy from cars and pedestrians below on Saturday evening but overall, it was fine.

Despite its zen like features no focus on environmentally friendly materials. Furniture stained. Breakfast varied but no alternatives for healthy eaters. All meat, cheese or sugar. No proper tea maker (not plastic) in room. A big minus. And no conditioner! Clearly womens hair not in focus here.

The hotel is located in a very active district, which is fine but there was a strip club directly across the street. The room was very small and the layout was such that it was difficult to open our large suitcases. They give you 2 coffee pods for the coffee machine. We asked for extra, and they brought one pod. At that time, I asked about water bottles. He said “We charge for all water.” I asked him if they have a water filling station, no they don’t. He said to use tap water. We also asked for 3 extra pillows because of my back issues. They gave us 2 and stated “the maximum pillows is 2 per person”. What??! Breakfast was okay. The coffee machine in the breakfast area was good. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

The hotel class is exaggerated. The “extras” we asked for have never been a problem in past hotels.

The staff was very kind. The room is new and clean. And there is a very delicious Chinese restaurant just beside. With the travel card given by the hotel, you can explore the city free in the meaning of public transportations.

If the tower heated can be turned on will be better. So that we can wash and heat the clothes.

Our stay was very comfortable, and the staff were helpful. The rooms were cleaner than expected given the hotel’s exterior, and overall it was good value for the money.

The location is very convenient, being close to the train station, but the street itself felt a bit unsafe.

The air-condition is only as fan. It was hot to sleep. Annoyed all the night. Honestly if we knew it we would not book the hotel. Also we have been asked for a deposit of 300 euro while that was not mentioned earlier. It was mentioned only 100 euro , so it was not planned. Rooms are very small. No kettle in the room so we have to request it. Fridge was not cooling and when we complained we were told to keep our stuff in hotel fridge and request it whenever needed. For sure not gonna repeat the same hotel at all.

The breakfast room was small and the buffet had few selections, but overall it had everything you needed considering the small size of the hotel.

The shower door cannot be closed firmly, it needs to be fixed

The staff was excellent. We loved the room and slept well.

While it’s convenient to the train station, bus terminal, the lake and many good restaurants, it’s not pleasant to be across from a strip joint or have many prostitutes a block away.

Location, Ambiance and the staff are so polite and warm. Lucas Thèpot is very helpful and lovely man also :)

The price is bit high, would prefer if slightly cheaper for solo travellers
