Pros +
- Super close to everything!
- owner was also desk clerk. under renovation and doing a great job. little inconvenience during renovations. great value.
- Location is very central to Calais.
Cons -
- It is across from train station, you hear trains on and off all night, as well as people passing close to windows and yelling at every hour of night
- Hotel has not been renovated in at least 30 or 40 years apart from slapping on a little paint here and there. VERY outdated and minimal. Feels like a dormitory for students in the 1970s.
- The room was a little dated and could use some new curtains and a bar fridge

It was right across from the train station and the bus from the ferry took you to the train station so it was all very convenient

Location and somewhere to sleep, that is the best things about this hotel. We arrived after 9pm and the gate was locked, luckily someone was going out and we managed to get in. They Emailed at 11pm with the gate code.
Emailed before 11pm with the gate code.
I had stayed here several times some years ago. Despite some recent poor reviews, the first floor room that I had was clean. The decoration had some minor marks of age, but not significant. There was a strong smell of tobacco in the room on entry, but opening the window soon cleared it. Generally it was as comfortable as before, and for the price and location near the railway station, it was enormously good value. I did not have breakfast in the hotel, since a very short walk past the Mairie there is an outstandingly good boulangerie, open early, and with coffee.
The neighbourhood is run down and scruffy, pavements are cracked and neglected, despite its central location. The Hotel consists of several blocks of low rise buildings. The building adjacent the entrance gives a poor impression on approach, needing maintenance of peeling windows and lacking paint. The stairway and lobby are tiled with marked and scruffy carpet tiles, giving a poor impression on entering and going upstairs. The owners should swap these carpet tiles for others in better condition.
Horrible one night stay; The room was dirty and tiny.
You will not find a soap or anything else in the bathroom!
Everything was fine - the room was clean and comfortable. Staff and reception were friendly and helpful. Many thanks again for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was available but did not have the time for this due to Ferry crossing times.
All was good thank you
Reception is not man all day the terminal to booking is in the Brea where you can’t get into the lock gate. The rooms are bad and poor facilities and you can’t get into the coffee machine or sit down areas because it’s locked between 12 and five so facilities are
The hotel was just across the road from the station. The room was very basic but clean. Staff were quick to help with queries and spoke good English.
The room smelt of stale smoke and the reception closed 12-5 so we couldn't leave our bags after check out at 11.30am due to needing to catch Le Shuttle at 4pm
Location in the centre of Calais with amenities within walking distance.Pizza hut next door
Paying to park in the hotel car park
bugs in one room! in both rooms the stench of cigarettes! dirt and disgust. we immediately left the entire accommodation
bugs in one room! in both rooms the stench of cigarettes! dirt and disgust. we immediately left the entire accommodation and had to look for another. we demand an immediate refund for this disaster
Location and possibility to arrive in the night
Even though breakfast was an option when booking there was no breakfast.Coffee could be bought for Euro 2.
The location
Small rooms, no kettle, tv not working
The location is excellent, right opposite the railway station and near the town centre. The room was clean, with a comfortable bed and plenty of hot water. The TV worked. The room had been repainted recently. The breakfast was good value for money, as was the stay generally. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Checking in was from 5 pm, but we came earlier and asked if we could check in earlier, and they let us check in at 12 pm. After 12 hours of driving, that was relief. Close to the centre, parks, shops, and restaurants own a car park with cameras and a gate lock at night.Beds were very comfortable. Pet-friendly hotel.
The window was leaky wind getting in to the room. When run cold water there was leak on the floor and I had to use towel to dry the floor.Bit outdated but nice.
Location and price
It’s very very dated, not all electrics work , feels as if it needs a complete revamp to be honest , we’ve stayed here many times but nothing seems to change except the name !
Very convenient location. Good breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff. Plenty of hot water.
Great spot, basic facilities but clean and purposeful. Polite and helpful staff.Large gated car park costing 2 euro per night.
Excellent, friendly service. There was help to carry my heavy suitcase to the second floor, there being no lift.
