Hotel San Giorgio

The hotel is quite simple, with no luxury. It's enough for those who just want to sleep at night and visit Bologna during the day. The hotel is very close to the city center, just a 7 or 8 minute walk, and it's about 15 to 20 minutes from the station. It's clean, and the staff members are friendly. They don't offer a proper breakfast, just coffee, croissants, bread, butter, yogurt, and jam. For me, it was totally okay.

Free espresso in the morning was a nice gesture. Great location and fairly quiet.

Room was only decently clean. Having to wait outside for the main door to be opened for you, instead of scanning a keycard or using a pincode is just weird and frustrating, even more so when its cold and raining... Bed and pillow were not very comfortable.

Location was perfect and staff were excellent. Windows were great and kept all the outside sound out.

AC did not function and the rooms needed updating (cracked shower tiles, bad grout, squeaky ceiling fan). Hallway was significantly cooler than the room and even with the window open and fan running all day, it never really pulled the outdoor air in. Neighborhood was quite noisy so leaving the window open at night was not an option and the AC was necessary. Shower is extremely small, almost coffin sized (not exaggerating. Though it’s not a fault of the hotel as this is advertised as a small room, just something you need to consider if you’re are a large person.).

I booked this room for my daughter for two nights and she could not be happier. Everything was perfect: the hotel is in the very heart of Bologna, steps away from Piazza Maggiore. The staff is very helpful and kind. Around there are plenty of restaurants and shops. Train station at walking distance too.

Extremely noisy area outside-until at least 2am every night. Air condition was not working so had to sleep with open window. Shower tiny, impossible to move inside. WiFi not working in room. Hotel has lots of potential especially due to excellent location.

The hotel location is perfect, closer to many historical sites in Bologna. La colazione was fair, considering the price. The bathroom, however private, was small - but good and clean.

Located in the heart of the old town; everything in the old town was just a short walk away

The central location also comes with the downside of plenty of street noise at night so make sure to bring ear plugs

This is an absolute plus for the staff. In all 5 days I stayed there all of them were nothing but helpfull, kind and approachable, regardless of time or situation. This alone made the stay acceptable overall. Short distance from the city center does help, but you can live without and take public transport.

Really, really small rooms and old and unconformable furniture. I am sorry to write this, especially because the staff was so nice. Unfortunately, I haven't found pictures of the single room on the website, otherwise I would not have chosen this hotel. For context, I am a big guy on both axis
