Great hotel warm welcome on arrival & location great ,lovely breakfast.fantastic all round

Because it’s old building it was very cold despite heating being on however we did go when it was snowing

Staff were helpful.

Requested a main floor room because of husband’s mobility issues. Had to insist upon arrival.

Friendly, helpful staff, nice clean hotel in a great location and a lovely breakfast.

Bedroom temperature was a bit high

the location was excellent for us, it was a short distance from the train station when we arrived so we were able to walk there and it was within walking distance also to the town centre which was great as we didn't have to rely on transport. The room was spacious for the three of us and had everything we required. The breakfast was good value for money.

Very nice place. Great staff and breakfast. Hot tub was a welcome experience and the massages were fantastic and a good value.

We didn't care for the very thick duvets. It was still quite warm, but they did give us some extra sheets. Bought our own cheap blanket.

Great location, and perfect sized room. It was clean and perfect for a place to stay for a few nights. Staff were really welcoming. Would stay again.

We actually rented a driveway nearby for a lot cheaper than £18 a day at the hotel (£18 for 2 days). It's been compared as more expensive to park elsewhere but it's on site? It's not a separate car park. We booked room only but the message received said buffet breakfast was included. It wasn't and this was confirmed. It should be updated. Having read other reviews, we aren't the only ones that were confused. Bed was very soft and has seen better days. Bed base was all scuffed up and not covered - even the sheets were not tucked in properly at the bottom as they didn't fit the bed. Curtains damaged. For a premium price, I feel there were so many small details that could be improved and really wouldn't take much effort. Minor details are more noticeable in a room when paying a higher price. Saying this, we would stay again. I wouldn't pay extra next time and would stay in a standard double instead as I feel the price didn't really feel like a premium room.

Stairs and doors everywhere. Beds uncomfortable.

Excellent breakfast delivered by a very efficient and friendly waitress. I only have nice things to say about this place.

Some of the upper floor rooms were up quite a few flights of stairs, so if you have trouble walking upstairs, you want to make sure you reserve some of the lower rooms.

The whole of the place was fantastic,receptionist he was friendly and very helpful garden was fantastic

The bathroom smelt if left door open

Very friendly staff, nice big bathroom, great shower, fan was helpful in main room to cool things down.

No place For toiletries in bathroom- maybe a little table would be helpful.We were on third floor which was fine for me, but tricky for my husband with a bad hip.

We had a lovely stay at Hedley Hotel. The hotel was within walking distance of the city and all the sights. The outdoor seating area was great to sit in with a drink. The jacuzzi and sauna looked great. The breakfast was everything we expected it to be. We would recommend.

Chose this property mainly because of location in relation to the train station. Easily walkable when arriving or departing by train. Nicely maintained building in a quieter neighbourhood. We were able to walk to all local attractions and many restaurants in York.

If you don’t want to have eggs and bacon every morning, other breakfast selections are somewhat limited. Cereal, toast, yogurt. The addition of some local pastry or muffins would be welcome along with some fresh fruit.

The building was very clean, very nice style. Spacious room with a comfy bed and a good size TV with apps on. Great location for the cost. Short walk to the city centre. Staff were excellent and very friendly and hospitable

The parking was a little bit expensive, but understandable for the area and lack of parking. Don’t park under the tree like we did. Woke up to a sticky coating on the car.

Didn't realise room was up long flights of steep stairs and no baggage assistance offered.

Lovely hotel, close to train station and to city centre. Staff really helpful and friendly.

The staff at Hedley House were lovely, especially the lady on reception.The room was spacious and very clean. We loved using the huge hot tub they have in well kept grounds.

There wasn't anything we didn't like.
