I loved the fact I got upgraded to a lovely appartment all to myself. I'd go back if I visited York again. Pleasantly surprised at the homely feeling of the appartment and the amenities. I didn't feel like a

Really confortable and beautiful apartment. In a fantastic location.

The resturant we were dropping our bags in was not open for most of our stay.

    Location is good

there is a pub downstairs, very noisy in the night

The apartment was so big, very modern the decor was lovely, bed was really comfortable. Very clean throughout. Nice little touches like bottles of water, fresh pint of milk for condiments supplied. Crisps and biscuits also left. We will be booking again for a 3 day break soon.Location is perfect.Highly recommend. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Shower had good water pressure. Bathroom fixtures were all new and the bathroom was clean. Lighting in room was good. Water and biscuits were nice touches. Towels were good except for being gray from use. Bed was comfortable. Plenty of electrical outlets conveniently located.

This is an 8-room lodging facility hobbled together above 2 bars. It is not a hotel or a B and B. It is not staffed, though phone-contact is available. The price, considering what was provided, was too high. Noisy location above TWO bars with live music (at EACH) ending at 2am. Expected a kitchenette in the room but it was in a hall landing. (Reading is a valuable skill.) They did put me on the top floor (room 4) as far away as possible from the noise. Rug on vinyl floor was dirty and it was apparent the vinyl floors were not washed or damp-mopped between stays. As a single woman, I did not like the location or the facility. (It was not a room I would like to come back to for a respite during my stay.) The one winding hall was dark in color and lighting. At one change of direction was a step-down before auto-sensing turned a light on so you could SEE the step; so a trip hazard while carrying luggage. The fire-exit was a narrow back stairway used to store tools, paint and other building materials; though none were directly on the narrow stairs. If you were not on the floor with the fire exit (top floor), you would not know of it. Rug on vinyl floor was dirty. This was a safety concern.

I had a free upgrade to an apartment which had a great surprise, the apartment was really good.

The noise from outside, it kept me up all night, I know it’s not the Forts fault but the windows could be more sound proof.

    Central Location

Was noisy at night but we were out most of the time anyway

Thank God this place was available! I made a very long journey from Saint-Petersburg to York via London and Manchester to see Gary Oldman on stage and I thought that alongside with that event I should choose better accommodation. Firstly I stayed in hostel but it was quite far away from the Royal York Theatre so I immediately changed my plans and it was two highly comfortable days and nights for a very nice price. Everything was clean, smelled good and looked cute. THE Bed is Heaven!! Location was also absolutely perfect, I saw my house from York Minster! I came back like 5-6 times during the day to leave gifts I bought and went for a walk at late evenings around the town without any problem. Enjoyed a lot, I would absolutely stay there again. (the kettle was extremely fast, like 10 seconds and your boiled water is ready to be part of Yorkshire tea, omg, what a speed!)

I really needed salt for my spagetti :D there was only sugar but it`s not a big problem :)

I loved the decoration throughout the hotel, the access to a kitchen was really useful, the rooms were neat & stylish, the bed was super comfortable, they provide ear plugs if you can’t sleep with the bells & pub noise, the local treats in the room was a beautiful touch & it’s right on the doorstep to a bunch of my favourite spots!

No elevator so struggled with luggage, but would be fine for a shorter trip with lighter bags

This lovely flat is right in the centre of York, in the heart of the picturesque shops , pubs and restaurants of the Stonegate area. The flat was spacious, clean, comfortable and beautifully appointed. Milk, tea, coffee were provided along with a voucher for a bottle of wine to have with a meal at the tapas bar next door, which was absolutely delicious! The only slight hitch is that there is no driving within the centre of York between 10.30 and 5pm. We did not see this on the property information, and didn’t realise we wouldn’t be able to drop off our suitcases before parking. We had to park outside the area, then take all our cases and bags for a 10 minute walk.. luckily, a glass of something refreshing wasn’t far away!!

My daughter and I spent one night here and it was absolutely perfect. We had a twin room with a large wet room. Plenty of hangers and space for cases and clothes. Nice touches of extra pillows/towels/bottles of water/biscuits and crisps. There was a kitchen area available to make tea/coffee/hot chocolate with a fridge with fresh milk (not a UHT Sachet!) , and there were also fresh diary alternatives available.I did read previous review, and someone said there was graffiti up the stairs- nope, this was artwork - very cool and colourful. Location was excellent literally 2 mins from shambles and about 15 from train station.I would definitely recommend for a return trip.

There is no lift so if you have mobility issues you would struggle.

    7LeePosted on: 4-14-2025

The location is very central, and the apartment was well maintained. Very convenient for just nipping in during the day. Note: you are close to some late night bars which are loud at night (2 am close whilst we were there). Earplugs are supplied but didn’t really help.

    10JaynePosted on: 4-14-2025

Really great location. Noise wasn’t troublesome at all and didn’t earplugs provided despite it being Friday and Saturday night. Got upgraded which was an unexpected surprise. Would stay again for sure.

Brilliant location, really friendly helpful staff.

Many flights of stairs to room and no lift. Very noisy with bar and club below.

    7JustinePosted on: 4-11-2025

Room good, small but very clean. No staff, so didn't meet anyone. Kitchenette clean and well stocked. Funny little place!

    6AndyPosted on: 3-31-2025

    Location excellent.

Bathroom was tiny, toilet was even worse. I wouldn’t have booked had I known how small they were, I couldn’t sit on the toilet properly, in the shower I couldn’t hardly turn around. Very disappointing for what you pay.

Nice compact rooms, great shower, easy check in

Blue light on something (covered by bed spread)
